  • Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.
Thanks for watching and God bless!

Have you ever try heating up meatballs with gravy instead of BBQ? My husband's favorite.

Do you think could snap a pic now and again of your charcuterie board? I love the idea and would love to draw inspiration. I know you don't work/film on Sundays but possibly just a pic to edit in? would be cool! Love watching your videos! We're a family of 6 :)

I have shown it a few times in the past when we've had it on a different night. But I will try to get a picture in the future. I just lay all the containers out on the counter and we fill plates. Nothing fancy. Lol

Crockpot meal.....chicken breasts and a jar of salsa. Pull the chicken and you have a very versatile flavored protein to work with. Put it on rice, in flour tortillas, over pasta or eat as is. You could play with this idea and use spaghetti sauce or a chutney or canned peaches or something else that strikes your taste buds. =)

I used to make chicken breasts and shred and mix in any type of sauce and serve in a sandwich bun, over egg noodles, rice, pasta or potatoes. For example, if I had a spare can of enchilada sauce, I would heat it through and throw it in with the chicken, or marinara sauce or sweet and sour sauce or even apricot jam which is soooooo good with chicken. I just made a pan of chicken breasts and shredded them and put them in the freezer. I could thaw them quickly and throw in any sauce I had on hand. One of the best was i had some apricot jam, a little bit of pineapple left over from a recipe and a small can of mandarin oranges I found when cleaning out the cabinet that were nearing expiration. It made a kind of polynesian type chicken and was so good just by itself but I also put it between hamburger buns for lunch the next day. I was able to use up little bits of stuff I had left over. Your meals look yummy as always! Great job on the apricot jam. So yummy. Have a great week.

I love your meals of the week and I agree bacon grease is my favorite essential oil. Tonight we had bacon, hashbrowns cooked in bacon greese, scrambled eggs, pancakes and cantaloupe love breakfast for dinner. Take care and stay safe!

A crockpot recipe you might try is a low carb version of an Olive Garden soup, Zuppa Toscana. It uses cauliflower instead of potatoes, some people use radishes.
I've found it's easier to try a completely new recipe than to try and modify a family favorite 🤷
