    This is so true ever since I used The Ordinary Glycolic acid and rosehip oil I noticed my milia literally just came off! It took a few weeks and it definitely was a surprise result. I couldn't believe it I thought I would be stuck with them forever since everywhere I read said you can't get rid of them unless you go to a dermatologist. Amazing.

    Hi Renee, I just wanted to share with you my experience with milia. I started getting them a few years back, but they got significantly worse about a year ago. I watched many videos to find a solution, including yours. Anyway, I bought a cleansing facial product that I love and because of one of the videos I watched said that you need to slightly exfoliate the skin where milia forms, I started doing that with this cleanser. I’ve noticed a 70% reduction of the milia I have under my eyes in just one week. I’m so happy. The product I’m using is called Environ cleansing gel. Thanks for the videos.

    Love rosehip oil as my nighttime eye treatment. Exfoliating eye cream, gotta try that...
    My gramma brewed pearl barley tea and used it as her toner her whole life. In college I had milia on my upper eye lid - she bossed me into leaving a tea-soaked cotton pad on the lid for several minutes every night. 3 weeks later the milia just fell off 🤯

    I had a milia on my forehead for months until I started using Neogen wine exfoliating pads. After using it twice, the milia was gone! Definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if the milia is not in the sensitive eye area. It's also good for flaky skin and quicker healing of acne scars. I use it twice a week now, which seems to be a good frequency for my combination skin.

    I used to get it very bad, especially on & around the eyes. I went to a dermatologist about some other rash I was having & asked about the "whiteheads" & he prescribed me retin a. This was over 20 years ago & I didn't have health insurance so keeping up with a prescription wasn't doable unfortunately. I think because I used wp mascara & used an oily eye mu remover is probably why I got them on my eyes so badly.
    I now use glycolic & other acids regularly to help promote the cellular turnover & exfoliation. My skin is now much drier but I will still get milia if I'm not careful & use too many products that are dimethicone heavy. I have to read labels carefully since dimethicone is often the main ingredient in most eye creams & moisturizers as well as foundations & primers. I also invested in white, bamboo very soft wash cloths that I use just for my face since it's so sensitive from retinol & acids.
    Thank you for this informative video. May I add, please everyone don't try & extract milia yourself. I did that with a needle & ended up with a very serious staph infection that was quite disfiguring & required emergency surgical procedure plus a month of antibiotics. Don't do it!

    You saved me with this video! It works. I had a glyluronic serum and mandelic acid serum from MakeupArtists prefer and put this on about an hour after moisturizing. It took a few weeks but I saw reduction probably within first week. Not sure what caused it, maybe a primer or a too thick eye cream but it was just spreading on my left eye and this stopped it and now it's completely flat with just a tiny little residual left. Thank you so much for sharing this info.

    • @agoldenrose
      @agoldenrose 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And let me say I saw the most dramatic impact after a couple weeks of acid treatment and then one day exfoliated kind of by accident, was in a rush washing my face and either used a clairsonic or a exfoliating cloth across it and woke up the next day with them dramatically flatter. Whatever the case is your acid suggestion worked.

    Oh thanks, Renee, for the review on Dr Gross' eye serum. I've been using his Retinol + Ferulic peel pads this last month, a couple of times a week, and have been circling around the purchase of the eye serum for my very genetic deeply frustrating undereye milia. The pads, btw, are a very nice treatment, and a good addition to any regiment that includes his daily aha/bha peel pads. I've been told by a few estheticians that skin that is predisposed genetically to milia should be careful about using undereye products that are too heavy because it can exacerbate clogged pores. If I use undereye concealers that are more waxy than creamy, and/or waterproof, I can count on seeing new milia shortly after. Same goes for any undereye creams that are especially heavy on the emollients. Using retinol products has reduced the appearance of the milia clusters somewhat, but there is a trip to the dermatologist to have them treated in my future.

    Your skin does not look dehydrated. I definitely see some natural sebum production and I can tell you take an active approach to your own personal skin care, which is very important. Thanks for sharing what's worked for you so far. It's probably a bit overkill for me because I have combo oily but very sensitive skin and I suspect the acids and the exfoliating could be contributing to the irritation. I developed milia because of a creamy eye cream (ponds) that I picked out for my grandmother right around when I had hit puberty. But I hate when people ask about my skin because it's like what works for you may not work for me, so I'm glad you have the time& patience to share all that you've tried so far! Very candid and concise :)

    This is the most concise and informative video on this problem I have seen. I have one that has recurred on my cheek in the exact same spot for years. I know it is a milia and not something else because I’ve had it removed by an esthetician and it came right back. Also have one on the upper lip very deep beneath the skin that seems to be permanent as well. Very frustrating spot! Will try the targeted glycolic to see if that helps. Thanks!

      @@hwangmiyeon1001 I agree about keeping things sanitary. I've removed quite a few milia on my face/eyes through the years, but I'm also educated in the medical field and am very mindful about proper wound care techniques. It's critical to do this correctly to avoid infection. Also, a brightly lit magnifying mirror is a must!

    • @martying94
      @martying94 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Jennifer Lee acids should be in direct contact with the skin, so if you have an acid toner you should apply it directly after cleansing. Otherwise, if you have a normal acid product, the steps should be: cleansing - ph adjusting toner (optional) - acid - wait 15 minutes - go on with the rest of the skincare

Does anybody else experience this? My mother and sister also have the same bumps. I have not been able to find out if they are actually milia or just a wierd genetic trait.

    i wasn't sure what i had under my eyes until i exfoliated with a dual action scrub facial mask, and looked under my eyes closely. i had started noticing a few days ago that i had bumps under my eyes after doing my makeup, but wasn't sure what the bumps were. after exfoliating, i realized that they were milia. i have been bad about washing my face every morning recently, but realizing that no doing this was causing milia to form, i decided to get back at it. i also started putting on SeaBreeze with cotton pad, its for sensitive skin, just a little pit, to help dry them out. hopefully it works.
