Thanks for the info Harry....your a smart bloke and your video has helped me understand the process very easy....have ordered my det 3 from Poland. Thanks for putting me onto Their product... Am building a 5sfe celica turbo running about 6psi...this has kept my build a lot cheaper and safer and reliable...Neil (Australia)
yes the map sensor is the unit in the bay with vacuum hose, this must be from a glanza to read boost. it has 3 wires, 5v, ground and a signal to the ecu pin 4 connector A. this signal wire is cut before the ecu and passes through the det 3 on the way to the ecu. this is via analogue input #2 and analogue out in my case.
Hey love your video learn alot from it.i have a 4efe coil pack engine wen step on the gas it cutting power like it going to stop what could cost that to happen?
Got det3 with 3 bar in piggy back mode..the car starts but can seem to be able to adjust fuel,my map signal in shows the correct voltage but the analogue out does not seem to re-adjust as the map in signal changes..I have the map in signal in as analogue in 1..I also can't seem to set up the fuel table to modify and load to analogue 1 when I click on adjust or ok the car goes off
Ok so, thread might be old but some people look like there having trouble with ignition wiring. I just put a det3 in my starlet, not actually started it yet and that took me back here. Anyway, it’s only a guess but I think to use pin 6(igt) you should take the signal out of Ecu to ignition in det3, then the ignition out of det3 goes back to the bay. There is a diagram for a 1jz on the ecumaster web page this uses dizzy(ne) and goes through the det3 in the other direction. Probably could do this on the starlet as well, using pin 8(ne) ,but I think if it works I would rather retard the igniter pulse and not the crank signal going to ecu from the dizzy. Anyway just my 2 cents not actually knowledge and very Toyota specific. I’ll post back if it works. Happy boosting
Hi mate I’m looking for a bit of help . I have a is300 turbo I fitted the det3 on fuel implant mode . Well I fitted it took it to the road tuner and it turned out I had a misfire so he did the best he could anyway I got the car home and been trying to find the misfire for 4 weeks everyday 😞 anyways I noticed I had put my TPS wire from the det going to the throttle control module 😬 not TPS . So I put the wire to the TPS wire now and struck the car up and it was lean lean like 20 lean . Well I need to get it bk to the road tuner . What can I do on the software to make it safe to drive to him slowly . Hope you can help thanks
I have a QUESTION: I ve connected the map and maf and crank sensor in but the rpm showing in the det3 are with 800 higher. And the line only goes up and down in the table. No right /left. Why? Thank you
so is it only 2 wires to wire it in in pigy back mode.? very simple.. still trying to figure out the map sensor though so the map sensor is a vacume hose that comes out of the inlet mani.. and a wire that runs to the det3 is that right?
How you calculate the ignition table? You set fuel table according to afr, right? Is the piggyback calculate the ignition table itself while you drive and after this you change table as you like? And how the piggyback will work in “retard single signal” ? Will it work in this mode with hall sensor and 60-2 ?
What is the ignition configuration settings ont 4efe, i think it would be the same as the 5sfe?.....i have wired mine same as you, routed the igt and pim signals.....car wont start as i believe im entering wrong ignition settings?....everything is connected fine and i flashed a 0 map with my analog inputs set...
Another drawback of fuel implant mode is that it only supports batch fire which is literally just dumping fuel into cylinders not on powerstroke, especially on 6 cylinder cars
what do you mean dumping fuel into cylinders not on power stroke? do you know how 4 stroke engine works mate? in a 4 cylinder engine you might batch fire the injectors which means each injector will fire 4 times per cycle. but each one of those cylinder will draw air ONCE. batch fire means the fuel mixture sits in the inlet port waiting to be drawn in once the valve opens. it's not a direct injection that you have to worry about batch firing 😂
Have the DET3 wired in the same but on a glanza ecu but it’s not starting. When I put the ignition wires but straight to the ecu it starts fine, am I missing a wire or something? Maybe crank sensor??
I also have the same problem. Can’t get car to start with det3 but if I was to take the det3 out completely and run just standard ecu it will start fine
AFR 16-17 would be way lean. 14.7 is stoichiometric for a regular fuel, and 9.76 for E85 fuel.
I've just bought a det3, this was really helpful, thanks :)
No worries

How did you make out with this. I'm currently doing the same and finding zero support for the 5sfe

I'm also using the DET3 from my build : amazing little device ! 👌
mate can you explain how you connected the parallel ecu? wiring.
Thanks mate ..you explained some important things in a simple way.. Unfortunately im stuck in converting maf to map on my 2jz Cressida
Done the maf to map conversion.. Still have to adjust the fuel map
@@soman2198 how did you convert maf to map?
Very informative video! But how do you hook up the air to fuel gauge to get proper readings?
Great Video , can you post the wire diagram you had at the end for the 4efte

So did it work for you?
Planning between converting a 4efe to turbo or buying a 4efte engine. Which one is better?
Thanks
Hi, you have delete stock MAF ?

Great Video, man :) I will be using a DET 3 soon on my Laguna 1.6 16v Turbo :)
Кирил привет,- хочу поинтересоватся ну как купил?
I have a QUESTION: I ve connected the map and maf and crank sensor in but the rpm showing in the det3 are with 800 higher. And the line only goes up and down in the table. No right /left. Why? Thank you
Hello, do you have any feedback using the det3 built in map sensor with your setup ?
so is it only 2 wires to wire it in in pigy back mode.? very simple.. still trying to figure out the map sensor though
so the map sensor is a vacume hose that comes out of the inlet mani.. and a wire that runs to the det3 is that right?
Hi, i bought also a DET3 for my 4E-FTE Engine (is still in buildup with TD04)
Maybe you could help me? - How you wired all in?
Does the fuel gauge still work correctly ?
Hi, how did you wires your ignition side up?
My laptop doesnt connect to my det3 what can I do
I have a question. How to connect det3 to 4efe dual coil? Anyone can help?
you used the one whit out map senser ?
I dit wire it up the same Way as you. And i set it to same ignition setings But not storting 😕
Starting
What did you change to get it to start? Have it wired in the same aswell but on a glanza ecu and not starting.
Eamonm Kennedy sane problem here if either of you guys sorted it in the end I could use your help..

Harry yeah thanks mate for the reply, set it at that and car is running.....thanks mate. Hows the little beast going, still running ok?
Has anyone else had trouble getting there car started? I’ve tried everything and still can’t start it! Can someone help please
Thanks cory
Another drawback of fuel implant mode is that it only supports batch fire which is literally just dumping fuel into cylinders not on powerstroke, especially on 6 cylinder cars
I thought it could do bank fire in implant mode? So it's only 1 rather than 3 cylinders dumping fuel, in a 4 cylinder. Correct me if I'm wrong
what do you mean dumping fuel into cylinders not on power stroke? do you know how 4 stroke engine works mate? in a 4 cylinder engine you might batch fire the injectors which means each injector will fire 4 times per cycle. but each one of those cylinder will draw air ONCE. batch fire means the fuel mixture sits in the inlet port waiting to be drawn in once the valve opens. it's not a direct injection that you have to worry about batch firing 😂

DId you solve the problem? I have the same issue
I also have the same problem. Can’t get car to start with det3 but if I was to take the det3 out completely and run just standard ecu it will start fine
Mate youve got over 8k views ....you should monetize your videos and make more DET3 Vids LOL
Good day harry do have facebook i have questions for you??
