Afterhours sounds really fun! I haven't seen Virgin Suicides since it came out but i definitely want to give it a rewatch. Girl Fight also sounds really good! Great video
Thanks for getting back to me🤟 Wow! Can't believe you haven't heard of "Repoman"(1984) starring Emilio Estevez & Harry Dean Stanton. It's such an 80's punk rock classic! Honestly, I really think it's right up your alley. Just the Criterion cover artwork alone is worth the pickup IMO!!! Please do yourself a favor & at least ✔️ out that artwork when you are able to. Peace out✌️
Op I must rephrase that I have heard of Repoman! Have you seen the remake? If so what did you think of that one? It was ok but the og was better right....
I've never seen the (2010) film "Repo Men. It's actually not a remake of the (1984) Repo Man film. Repo Men (2010) is about a future where artificial human organs are repossessed by Repo Men, due to lack of client payment. Repo Man (1984) is about 2 repo men in 1980's Los Angeles. Who are tasked, unbeknownst to them. To "repossess" a vehicle which itself is actually completely, & honestly possessed! So two completely 100% different stories. I still urge you to check out the (1984) film. It sports a really great early 1980's punk rock musical score. It also features a pretty young Iggy Pop. I highly recommend it for your viewing pleasure 👻
Hey, as I noticed in some comments below. I would highly recommend watching your criterion "House" (1977) release soon. Extremely insane, wild ride for sure. Certainly worth the amount for admission IMO. I just picked up a few Criterion's you might enjoy. 1.)The Others 4k, 2.)Repoman 4k, 3)The Devil's Backbone Blu-ray & I Walked With a Zombie + The Seventh Victim / 4k/Blu-ray double feature. Thanks for another awesome video👍
@6808Justin Ooo ya I've had House for awhile not sure why I haven't gotten to it yet! I'll definitely check it out sooner rather than later! Thank you for the recommendations! I will put those on the list! Other than The Others I haven't heard of the rest so those will be interesting! 🤘🏻😎
Thank you for mentioning Robert Carlyle when talking about Trainspotting! No one ever mentions him and in my opinion he’s the best character in the movie. 👏🏻
I agree he does such an amazing job! He's definitely an underrated actor for sure. I always appreciate him in the movies he's been in!! Glad to hear there's another fan out there!! 🤘🏻😎
@ I’ve gained a reputation for being a big fan of his! I’m always trying to spread the word about him to get more eyes on his great projects. If you haven’t seen him in Formula 51/The 51st State you need to!
Love Shallow Grave and Trainspotting. Boyle is a great director. Sunshine is one of my favorites from him. Some recommendations for you I would say are. Repo Man Repulsion Eyes Without a Face Cure Memories of Murder Blow out and obviously Night of the Living Dead
He definitely is a great director indeed! Thank you for the recommendations! I will put them on the ever growing list! I am curious about Memories of Murder. I remember when that came out but didn't pick it up for some reason and now I can't remember why LOL
Great recommendations! I really like Shallow Grave and I have the DVD of Girl Fight I need to get around to watching. Instead of the rotten tomato stickers you need to start Criterion Mel Movie stickers to put on.😁
I've seen Shallow Grave and Trainspotting and liked them, but didn't feel I would rewatch either. I have been wanting to check out TVS as I usually like Sofia Coppola movies. I am trying to channel my inner Mel and recommend you some Mel movies to get. I recommended Fish Tank before, which I think you would like as the girl in it is quite the butt kicker. I think you would like Badlands. It is kind of a precursor to films like True Romance and Natural Born Killers, but in a very stripped down way. House(1977) is a wild Japanese horror comedy I think you would like. It even has a character named Melody.
@SidneyJenkins1973 Ooooooo ya I did actually watch Fish Tank TBYB... the relationship between the main girl and her mom's boyfriend bugged me about that one. I also bought House just haven't watched it yet but Badlands I haven't checked outt! I'll put it on the list!!! Thank you thank you!!!
@@mykillerpodcast You're welcome. That relationship was my least favorite part of that movie too. It started out like he would be a father figure then quickly shifted
Repo man Repulsion Eyes without a face Cure Memories of murder If you don’t have these you should definitely add them Mel. Peeping Tom and Blow Out are good ones too.
The squish has went criterion smh Im so worried 😂 My killer usually has a taste for cheeseyyyy goodness But ill hear you out lol ...tip toe through the tulups 😮
@mykillerpodcast Haxan is 102 years old but is still very very good plus you get the edited 1968 version Witchcraft through the Ages version. Peeling Tom looks magnificent in 4K
First time watching and don’t understand why the host is trying too hard to be original and creative and embrace a gimmicky voice and expression? I think it would work better if she just talked normally without the shtick. What’s wrong with smart, witty, pretty girl sharing movie recommendations? The circus is unnecessary.
@ProfessorEchoMedia Hahaha I can tell your new here and proly won't be around for long 😂 Happy to report its not a gimmick I just won't be confined to what people like you want to see pretty girls act like. Stay Killer dude. 🤘🏻😎
@ That’s making a big assumption and the reason why I almost left out the word PRETTY. My comment had really nothing to do with your appearance in the slightest, it was more about short changing your knowledge and experience with the subject by attempting to mask it with a gimmick. What you look like is immaterial as there are hundreds of pretty girls on TH-cam wherever you look and the novelty of that gets old fast. So don’t be so quick to lump me in as some kind of TYPE who only expects “pretty girls” to act in certain ways. I would never be like that and really couldn’t care less how they want to act. Show business has a long history of beautiful women acting like nuts in movies and I think it’s sexy as hell. I just think you’re trying too hard to be different and zany, but to me it’s not working. Then again, it’s only the first video on the channel I’ve watched and I can be an irritable jackass at times too so maybe I’m missing the point and the appeal of your interpretation and intentions.
@ProfessorEchoMedia I think what you're missing is that you're making a snap judgment about someone you know nothing about. That makes you look like a fool. But hey, keep going fools gonna fool! 😂
@ I see the charade extends to your comments too. Well, it’s true I can’t confirm my analysis of your channel based on such a scant sampling of it, but that’s no reason to immediately launch into name calling, which undermines the intelligence I thought you had and reduces the level of discussion to playground level. I’ll exit now and leave you to your videos and whatever types of personalities you believe they need, no matter how affected. Hang in there.
What are some other Mel Criterions?

I highly recommended Criterion’s release of “Demon Pond” on 4K. This was a blind buy and it’s a masterpiece!
@michaelleblanc7974 Oh nice! Haven't heard of this one! I'll definitely check it out!
