Part of the reason it probably doesn't work is because I read it was shot originally as a standard pilot and when it wasn't picked up they repurposed the footage into an episode of the Office. So my guess is the B story for the office characters would have been a different B story involving the Farm and it all probably would have flowed better. It was never supposed to be a backdoor pilot. I definitely remember reading way back when that they had to retool it to make it into an office episode after it was passed on by NBC

its such a shame it never saw the light of day it seemed like if it got made it would have been remembered up there with shows like X-Men or Batman TAS as one of the best action shows of the of the 90s/early 2000s. seemed like it got scrapped because back in the day the marketing didn't think a female lead action should would have been very profitable. female lead action shows were basically non existent at that time, probably didn't think it would sell toys very well
I really enjoyed Dollhouse, an interesting concept that never quite reached it's full potential. It got better as it went along, and second season was better than first.

Angel was such a damn good show, and could have potentially been spun off into a movie, if Paramount or one of the other big studios wanted it, especially since now they seem to be producing a lot more high budget series, rather than movies for streaming, instead of theatres.
David Boreanaz has said he has absolutely zero interest in participating or returning to anything involving Angel. The only past thing he's done that he has said he would be willing to consider is Bones and, that was only IF they managed to get everyone on board with it and it actually made sense.
I have Angel after the fall and The Spike series too, the ones you showed and a couple more volumes. My pick prolly would have been Spike, Angel.was.always my favorite, but Spikes story was more interesting After the Fall. I didn't like Angel becoming a secret human and Wesley, he had the best arc for any character in the Buffyerse and they neutered him into a ghost and dragon named Cordelia... Saw BtVS on the thumbnail after reading the video's title and thought AtS isn't a failed spinnoff and all the actual failed spinoff ideas were incorparated into the canon comics. Glad he acknowledged these things. Not everyone does. Not acknowledging that with characters having memories of Dawn the animated show could have been a continuation by looking back at what they know after Dawn shows up in S5. That's the way I viewed it, and how it works with Buffy's dream sequence in the comics. Since this is coming out during the BtVS 22:30-22:40 rant complaint issue, I will explain that it isn't another S8. It is an audio show set ten years after the TV show (2.5 years after the comics as there was a year and a half in-between BtVS S7 show end and S8 comics start [a year for AtS S5 then a half year after that for setup to the plot of S8] leaving 7.5 years of BtVS and AtS comics. I'm now listening to "Slayers: A Buffyverse Story", and I love it! All my favourite characters with their unique voices, the plot is great, the actors are so professional. Amber Benson did great job. Certainly, all the rest of the team as well. And as a fan of Spike, Giles and Glen I'm really happy they've made this stuff

That was a significantly different version of Ripper than the one I heard about all those years ago. The version I heard about was a prequel set during the time Giles was known as Ripper and would follow his exploits with people like Ethan Rayne recklessly exploring the Dark Arts.
We already have a _'Smallville'_ Season 11! It was a hugely brilliant graphic novel run which, now that we’ve had the *Arrowverse’s* _'Crisis on Infinite Earths'_ crossover event, is confirmed as canon!
I would totally watch an alternate timeline Ripper transported to the main Buffyverse and has to be in the guardianship of Giles. Also, Willow could just curse Gunn with a soul.
Smallville is my favorite live action series of all time. I can’t wait for the animated series and ty for giving more attention to a great show! They had picked up Aquaman as a series and it had a full page and section on The WB site. Then, when The CW became a thing, the president of The CW said it sucked because she didn’t have anything to do with it and canned it, even though they were picked up initially.
The guy who played the green arrow in smallville was picked to play aquaman in the spin-off, but the guy who played aquaman in smallville wasn't picked lol
They did plan a green Arrow spinoff what tecnically never happened, but what in the end did create the show Arrow. What create it's own spinoff show, what in turn created it's own spinoff show.
Not Aquaman related, but Miami Florida worked perfectly for the show burn notice and that’s a Spa Thriller Show from USA net work. Honestly, they use the landscape and did a lot of really interesting things for the seven seasons of the show.
I really liked the sister and her kid and thought they would have fit really well as cousins,but I hated the brother. I already loved Zeke and Mose! I would have loved a spin off that ran along side the Office as Dwight's life away from the Office while he still worked there. I totally would have watched that.

It’s about a munch of mid level government employees who indirectly work for the prime minister and parliament. All the back room people who aren’t that import and you don’t really see on the news or if you do you don’t recognize them. But who think they are hot shit cause they can say they work for the prime minister.
Oh Aquaman. I suspect that they might have cast a bunch of prior actors because they had them. Aside from the lead change, those actors were probably just filler until the show was picked up. Also, 20 bucks Ving Rhames was going to be Black Manta.
The Faith series & Slayers both still happened with Whedon involved but as comics, with Slayers just being part of Season 8 and 9 of the Buffy comic series. Faith was made but alongside Angel for a continuation of both Season 9 of Buffy and Angel: After the Fall, which yes I can see you mentioned but wanted to further elaborate on it. There's now a new series that's completely different called Slayers on audible, a podcast with most of the original cast returning. Tru Calling was such a great series that was screwed over by the Writers Strike. The Giles show was supposed to be The Watchers, which is why Anthony Head left during Season 6. But they couldn't get it off the ground and bought him back as a guest star. I never heard of them wanting to repurpose it after the Season 8 show. The animated series would've been showing us the world of Season 1 with Dawn in it. The false memories the Monks added in there. So the continuity would've been different. Many fans wondered how the alternate memories would've looked like from what we got.
Faith show would have been good. Eliza could support one. Spike too. James could 100% carry a show. Ripper would be great too. Anthony HAS carried shows.
It would have never worked. Rain Wilson is not funny, and a horrible actor. Wilson is a clear example of a person that should not be allowed to hold a camera without supervision. Additionally, keep a writing utensil and paper from this man.
its aquaman and alan is HOT so yeah we watched that aquman ep of smallville a LOT. cw also promoted the heck out of that episode. will never forget those days.
you skipped the birds of prey tv show that was cancelled mid first season. was a good show but rushed and a mix bag of strong and poor dialog. plus studio interference. it would be nice to do a episode just for the show. is a cult show now, and in the arrowverse on the flash when many multiverses where destroyed, birds of prey universe (203) was destroyed as well. cool for the actress to reprise her role to show us huntress and her universe to be erased from existance.
Like your videos... but I just want to state one criticism of the "The day... died" series... I've watched 3 of these and don't have a huge attention span... so, I forgot each time why I started watching them, until the middle of the 3rd video. I went into each video thinking you were going to define an exact moment/episode where the plot went wrong and the show/movie saga went downhill. Neither of these videos do that. At least not explicitly, which is what I went in expecting. For future videos of those, I would like to see you actually tell the audience, explicitly, where you think the show went wrong and started its fall from frame.

Tru calling lasted a few seasons and as much I hated the Disney/Marvel animated universe, so did Hulk and the agents of SMASH. Her biggest failure is Dollhouse. Even that piece of shit got a neither season . . . .that fox had to sacrifice The Terminator show for to shut up the Firefly fans
So not to be that guy, but none of these are really spin-offs, just pilots or basic ideas for a spin-off, I guess I was expecting stuff more like The 80's Show (sure you've covered it) or at least shows that got made, but failed, like Joey (sure you covered it), I guess these are true failures in ever sense of the word, so good job I guess.

Several backdoor pilots were successful, like the NCIS and CSI episodes that introduced their spin-offs. He is talking about several "backdoor pilots" that were not greenlit and are now just really bad episodes of the iconic show. Married With Children --- Radio Free Trumaine Sabrina --- WitchRight Hall Brady Bunch ---- Kelly's Kids Speaking of Married With Children (and Mr. LeBlanc), Remember "Top of The Heap"??? That was a whole episode of "Married" that focused on those two guys and Al only appears in it for ten minutes. That was a "back-door pilot" -- a successful (if you can call one season a success) back-door pilot.

you skipped the birds of prey tv show that was cancelled mid first season. was a good show but rushed and a mix bag of strong and poor dialog. plus studio interference. it would be nice to do a episode just for the show. is a cult show now, and in the arrowverse on the flash when many multiverses where destroyed, birds of prey universe (203) was destroyed as well. cool for the actress to reprise her role to show us huntress and her universe to be erased from existance.

Like your videos... but I just want to state one criticism of the "The day... died" series... I've watched 3 of these and don't have a huge attention span... so, I forgot each time why I started watching them, until the middle of the 3rd video. I went into each video thinking you were going to define an exact moment/episode where the plot went wrong and the show/movie saga went downhill. Neither of these videos do that. At least not explicitly, which is what I went in expecting. For future videos of those, I would like to see you actually tell the audience, explicitly, where you think the show went wrong and started its fall from frame.

Eliza Dushku seems to be in a lot of failed shows.
Tru calling lasted a few seasons and as much I hated the Disney/Marvel animated universe, so did Hulk and the agents of SMASH. Her biggest failure is Dollhouse. Even that piece of shit got a neither season . . . .that fox had to sacrifice The Terminator show for to shut up the Firefly fans
So not to be that guy, but none of these are really spin-offs, just pilots or basic ideas for a spin-off, I guess I was expecting stuff more like The 80's Show (sure you've covered it) or at least shows that got made, but failed, like Joey (sure you covered it), I guess these are true failures in ever sense of the word, so good job I guess.
