I just can’t agree no one shot feels fair. Spam rat is easy to counter yes but your plan B is the most unfun piece of shit playstyle ever. Not only are you walking up behind me and one shotting me but for some dumbass reason you make no fucking sound when you do it. Your foot steps are way too damn quite for a character who can one shot you. Hanzo is luck based yes but if your playing a a speed demon flanker you’re going to kill him. Widow maker has one of the loudest foot steps in the game and is extremely distinct so you can easily know where she is at. Junkrat makes no sound whatsoever and he thrives in CQC. Only way to fight him is if you know where he is at all times and if you just stay at range. How can you realistically even do this? His mobility is insane and like I said he makes no sound. It’s not really practical to constantly try to be aware of where he will show up. Before someone says “umm actually he does make sound 🤓🤓.” Yes Ik he does make sound but you can’t hear it over all of the sounds in a team fight but for some reason I can hear widow foot steps while in a team fight just fine. Give him more sound. He’s just not fun to fight against and it’s not healthy for the game how easy it is for him to one shot enemies. I’m a support player and I think junkrat is way more annoying to deal with than meta Doomfist.
Whenever I play as junkrat against another junkrat it's a massive diff because I just switch off to Sombra and assassinate them over and over until they switch
junkrat is simple but because of that simplicity people are gonna learn to deal with that so in order to get good with junkrat you have to adapt as much as everyone else is adapting. Starting out junkspam is what's most consistent, even going into higher ranks but since other players will adapt to that you have to change up the plans to playing him, going for flank routes or covering options, something i love doing personally is throwing a conc mine right over someone and them walking perfectly over it

This is the first time I've heard about junkrat being a spammy character. And when I look back now there was one occasion where there was a junk rat who wasn't even trying he was just firing in one direction, not even changing angle Edit: this may be a suprise to many but I found it hard to play junk. I feel ya, I hate playing spam rat, I really really hate how slow it is, i always try and go for direct hits but I hate how slow the projectile is, I’d take less damage for a faster projectile any day because hitting those far direct hits are amazing. Another thing I like doing with junk rat is toss my mine behind an enemy and launch them into me then shoot them.
As an old Demoman player from TF2, I really enjoy playing as him because of how similar - but still different - his playstyle is. On top of that I like how his trap is good for map awareness: if you see someone falling for a trap, you can check and try to kill the enemy, and if they destroy the trap you know there's someone coming nearby. I really like to play him as a sort of "map defender" type of hero, where my bombs, traps and grenades function as eyes. Sure, he requires less aiming to be effective - and I can't aim well due to twitchy hands - but if a junkrant can aim his nade and bomb correctly you can get rid of a lot of key targets easy.
I’d argue self-damage is the issue. Junkrat can throw a pipe and mine with no regard for safety, so there’s no counter face to face. Meanwhile Demoman requires medium distance to be effective because of self inflicted explosives.

Junkrat's bomb jumps require the most basic understanding of mechancis. Almost everyone I know that played a competitive FPS before could do them if they tried, even though they don't play the character. The same logic you used to call Junkrat "misunderstood" applies to Hanzo even more. His fast trick shots are MUCH harder to land than whatever Junkrat has to do with his bombs, since Hanzo's arrows are literally the smallest projectiles in the game. That clip you played at 2:20 literally has an Ashe standing still for a solid 5 seconds, so I don't know what you are trying to prove there... lol Funny that you used that clip, because something I have noticed about a lot of people that complain about Hanzo is that they stand still so frequently, or have weird movement.

Junk just like widow is low skiill cuz of how OP they are compared to other dps. Edit: Also concuss mines do absurd damage, even if they completly miss.
I just wish junkrat took self damage to his bombs not even asking for a lot but like 10 or 5 when you consider every other character with explosive weapon
I love junkrat. Play him less often since OW 2, but when I need my kills I revert back to him. I enjoy him a lot and absolutely love doing what you called precision airstrike, and the plan b. I also love taking full advantage of the death bombs because sometimes death inevitable, might as well bring someone with me. Another pro for players on the enemy team using airstrike: It causes me momentary panic thinking they picked pharah who I can’t seem to handle if they’re either pocketed or even mediocre in intelligence/skill. I just struggle so hard to hit enough to kill her no matter my hero. Junkrat has a really low skill flow, but once people actually start using their head and getting better at aiming themselves, it gets a lot more fair.
part of this video reminded me of my beloved dps doomfist, like both are able (well doom was) able to sneak into the back line or just fly to it get a combo kill and get out, and i understand why people find it annoying but there was a lot of risk to it, it took skill it took time to master and most of all it was fun and somewhat fair. i will miss dps doomfist so much.

Junkrat shouldnt 1 shot. Thats my only complaint. He already gets so much for free (mobility, cc, area of denial, splash, strong ult, strong primary fire, even damage after death). He doesnt need the ability to right into left click insta kill. They could change this a number of ways too. Personally, I like the route of making his mines unable to be airbursted (nerfs his THREE mine mobility get away which is so safe and makes instakills harder to set up). This junk is still lethal, can still kill a squishy before they can react, but adds a level of skill gap outside of learning to aim better (irrelevant at close range).
I’d rather his concussions just do less damage so people have more time to react to a Junkrat instead of always getting two shot by the extremely easy and quick combo.

If it was pretty much required to be two nades or a nade, mine, melee, then it would be easier to react to and avoid/counter.
Junkrats oneshot is his only defence, his mobility is semi-great only, it's too slow, remember that if he wastes a mine on you, he either have 1 or none left, which junkrat needs to use correctly to either escape or secure another kill, a good player can sense that junkrat which just wasted a mine won't have any in a engagement if they also used another to jump Junkrat is too squishy to not have damage, his projectiles are slow and he's nearly defenseless against flying dipshit duo (echo and pharah)

Your content is great. I promise you're being too hard on yourself. You put out content of very good quality at a very rapid pace, so it's understandable that they're not all the same length. Much of this is largely irrelevant post season-9. There are certainly still good ways to play him, and I love to play Junkrat. But a lack of his combo has removed the largest part of value in his kit.
You can still combo but you have to add a punch w it but then it becomes mostly reliant on the flankrat playstyle but I feel like blizzard ruined this character with not giving the combo because the higher the rank the more the players adapt to junks playstyle making junk players more reliant on spamming and that is not fun
This is definitely one of your better videos. I did notice that the recent videos were a bit underwhelming in terms of style and script but this one was a very pleasant surprise. Everything just feels like a step up. Pacing, visuals, and definitely style. I love all the little things you do, that little sequence from 1:18 - 1:44 just felt really good to watch, and I love all the creative ways that you are using keying. This is definitely a video that I can learn from and apply to my own videos. Also really nice use of sound effects.

for the record even owl players have said this and some admit they just play cheese with her since its much more less risky in the setting tht owl is. in addition no owl players play symm seriously outside the few safe koth maps. just this year symm has gotten more presence in the community after the speed buff on the beam. for the record streamers in 2017 started a movement to get all symmetra players banned, or witch hunt some symm player they didnt like etc. junkrat is much more popular and a dps basically anyone u ask can play. ppl often keep saying symm generates ammo from shields or can teleport stuff apart from players almost like its the new testament or something lool

You know how Blizz in one of their latest blogs answered "Why am I hardstuck at a rating that doesn't reflect your skill" and they basically said it's cause "you're bad but dont want to admit it?" I feel like that's entirely Junk. He shoots slow, loud, bright projectiles. If you're dying to spam, it's not because the hero is OP and easy. It's because you refuse to learn. As soon as high plat, people start wising up to when Junks spam and it becomes much harder for him to aim as people have the awareness to dodge. Junk loses a lot of match ups because his shots are so slow and others are more consistent than he is. Flankrat becomes the best way to play at high ranks because he doesn't have much outside of his combo. With the changes Cass got, too, he's in the same boat. Burst damage that can be great for surprise flanks. He's however a hitscan so he's much more consistent at mid range so he has more options.
The whole reason I hate junk rat is be cuz his one tap combo which is primary fire and mine, I rly think that only widow deserves a one shot, and spam rat doesn’t need skill which is very annoying, they should make him require skill considering he is kinda good ngl

@@mezon3d741 Only if I get somewhat unlucky because they were trying to hit someone else, but usually, Hanzos (including myself) don’t just spam at chokes or around corners unless there’s probable suspicion that someone will be emerging from that position. I usually use sonic arrow to guarantee that those shots will hit or pressure an enemy to stay in cover and that I won’t be wasting my time though.
Hanzo is just more luck based tho, i play junkrat in diamond, it's all about thinking where enemies will go, Hanzo is more like: "oh a busy choke? Let me shoot my arrows nonstop and eventually someone will get headshot"
There's definitely an obvious difference between a good junkrat and a bad junkrat The only difference between a noob and a pro Hanzo is if a charged bodyshot or a charged headshot killed you at full health
Okay okay lets calm down with the "junk is a skillful dps". all the dps characters have their skill floor and skill ceiling. Hanzo can spam down main for lucky head shots in low elo but as you go up intentional aiming is needed cause nobody runs down main in a straight line. Same with junkrat. He is actually less skill full due to the size of his projectile hitbox, mine radius and his potg ult button. He can be played skillfully but overall a very forgiving character.

i played hanzo before the nerf, and now i played junkrat since hanzo sucks, and this vid is totaly right, even if its a year old. now with 1 shot gone, air strike doesnt work as much, but plan b is better than ever bc you can throw a melle in to finish them off

I’ve gotten so many one shots by just placing a mine where people are walking then one shot them by adding my primary
I know I'm late but being on the ground and seeing a phara/echo in the air and 2 shot them out the sky is just so satisfying
Look up Arrge who plays hanzo, does the same "combustion" style, which is just flanking and makes Hazno not just a spam down hallway character

It's a mix of the playstyles that makes him good. Only doing one of these in a match just makes you lose most probably.
If rushing in with dva's defense matrix while firing is a valid strategy so is walking up to a squishy and performing an insta kill.

This junk is still lethal, can still kill a squishy before they can react, but adds a level of skill gap outside of learning to aim better (irrelevant at close range).
I’d rather his concussions just do less damage so people have more time to react to a Junkrat instead of always getting two shot by the extremely easy and quick combo.

@@mikejowan3340 I’d like for him to keep his mobility kit since it allows for interesting and fun playstyles that are much less annoying, except for the insta-kill mine combo. If it was pretty much required to be two nades or a nade, mine, melee, then it would be easier to react to and avoid/counter.
Junkrats oneshot is his only defence, his mobility is semi-great only, it's too slow, remember that if he wastes a mine on you, he either have 1 or none left, which junkrat needs to use correctly to either escape or secure another kill, a good player can sense that junkrat which just wasted a mine won't have any in a engagement if they also used another to jump
Junkrat is too squishy to not have damage, his projectiles are slow and he's nearly defenseless against flying dipshit duo (echo and pharah)
It more fair then widowmaker who can one shot your for anywhere on the map

Much of this is largely irrelevant post season-9. There are certainly still good ways to play him, and I love to play Junkrat. But a lack of his combo has removed the largest part of value in his kit.
You can still combo but you have to add a punch w it but then it becomes mostly reliant on the flankrat playstyle but I feel like blizzard ruined this character with not giving the combo because the higher the rank the more the players adapt to junks playstyle making junk players more reliant on spamming and that is not fun
This is definitely one of your better videos. I did notice that the recent videos were a bit underwhelming in terms of style and script but this one was a very pleasant surprise. Everything just feels like a step up. Pacing, visuals, and definitely style. I love all the little things you do, that little sequence from 1:18 - 1:44 just felt really good to watch, and I love all the creative ways that you are using keying. This is definitely a video that I can learn from and apply to my own videos. Also really nice use of sound effects.

for the record even owl players have said this and some admit they just play cheese with her since its much more less risky in the setting tht owl is. in addition no owl players play symm seriously outside the few safe koth maps. just this year symm has gotten more presence in the community after the speed buff on the beam.
for the record streamers in 2017 started a movement to get all symmetra players banned, or witch hunt some symm player they didnt like etc. junkrat is much more popular and a dps basically anyone u ask can play. ppl often keep saying symm generates ammo from shields or can teleport stuff apart from players almost like its the new testament or something lool
Junk is very annoying in lower skill for tanks because although they may know what he is doing they are still unable to fight him proper because the player’s team doesn’t want to change attack strat

You know how Blizz in one of their latest blogs answered "Why am I hardstuck at a rating that doesn't reflect your skill" and they basically said it's cause "you're bad but dont want to admit it?" I feel like that's entirely Junk. He shoots slow, loud, bright projectiles. If you're dying to spam, it's not because the hero is OP and easy. It's because you refuse to learn. As soon as high plat, people start wising up to when Junks spam and it becomes much harder for him to aim as people have the awareness to dodge.
Junk loses a lot of match ups because his shots are so slow and others are more consistent than he is. Flankrat becomes the best way to play at high ranks because he doesn't have much outside of his combo. With the changes Cass got, too, he's in the same boat. Burst damage that can be great for surprise flanks. He's however a hitscan so he's much more consistent at mid range so he has more options.
The whole reason I hate junk rat is be cuz his one tap combo which is primary fire and mine, I rly think that only widow deserves a one shot, and spam rat doesn’t need skill which is very annoying, they should make him require skill considering he is kinda good ngl

@@tapelessbus his oneshot is a punishment for getting close to him, that's why you take flying and far range characters to counter junkrat, HE EXCEEDS AT CLOSE RANGE, you shouldn't approach him. Widow shouldn't oneshot either if junkrat can't because widow can stay behind her whole team and just get kills without getting punished for it, for example junkertown has this 1st point problem where widow is a menace.
remember that if junkrat uses his mine, he's one of 2 down, or doesnt have any, if junkrat doesnt have mines, that's the time you strike as a close range character

not only that but junkrats mines have a really significant faloff in damage when not near somebodys face, junkrat has to be at least somewhat precise to kill you with a mine

@@mezon3d741 Actually, no. That stuff's only ever happened when I'm standing behind another teammate. Most of the time hanzos seem to know what they're doing in my rank, and I'm silver 5.
@@mezon3d741 Only if I get somewhat unlucky because they were trying to hit someone else, but usually, Hanzos (including myself) don’t just spam at chokes or around corners unless there’s probable suspicion that someone will be emerging from that position. I usually use sonic arrow to guarantee that those shots will hit or pressure an enemy to stay in cover and that I won’t be wasting my time though.
I think Junkrat is the only character to be simultaneously the easiest character yet also the most difficult character at the same time.
It depends on the rank you play and the awareness of enemies

Okay okay lets calm down with the "junk is a skillful dps". all the dps characters have their skill floor and skill ceiling. Hanzo can spam down main for lucky head shots in low elo but as you go up intentional aiming is needed cause nobody runs down main in a straight line. Same with junkrat. He is actually less skill full due to the size of his projectile hitbox, mine radius and his potg ult button. He can be played skillfully but overall a very forgiving character.
