Noita - Teleportless (Seeded) Speedrun - 59s (Former WR)

- With this, my teleportless seeded speedrun journey is complete. Getting the pillar achievement was originally my only goal but with the minute barrier being only 2 seconds further I felt compelled to make the push.
From the moment I first saw this game I knew that I would love it and played with the intent of mastering it but I never imagined I'd become a speedrunner as a result, much less the record holder in multiple categories. I'm really glad we were able to get this far.
It is the result of the theories, seed searching, and efforts that the Noita speedrun community had in order to break the 1-minute barrier for half a year.

Basically you gotta climb deeper into the cave until you get to the bottom and kill the spider to take the gear. Under normal circumstances you gotta go through the dungeon and find the portal on each level to go deeper since the walls are indistructable but he got a black hole wand which can dig through any wall. Usually black hole wand only has 3 uses but he got a perk which gives him a ghost buddy that copies his wand so he got infinite black holes and just dug straight to the end of the game lol

sure. The important thing about the wand build at the start is that it has black holes, the gravity modifier, and it's a shuffle wand so with some luck the first cast will use the gravity modifier and let me skip straight to the holy mountain.
After that, I get the Angry Ghost perk which copies projectiles near it and shoots them whenever I cast a wand so in order for it to shoot the black holes I shoot a black hole for it to copy and fire my empty bomb wand. Since there's no spell on it, it uses no mana and has no extra cast delay so I can spam it and shortcut straight down to the boss arena.
On the way I take a brief stop in the fungal caverns next to the vault to grab an acid flask. I stop shooting the black holes for a second to not destroy the flask and throw it at the center of Kolmi before starting the boss fight. The flask has to be travelling fast enough while also being directly in the center or just above the center of kolmi to smash and kill kolmi instantly.
There's more to it all but that covers all the most confusing bits.

@@konstantinwehrwein7807 in order to end the run as fast as possible, rather than waiting for the midas damage to kill me by turning me to gold, I instead kill myself with firebolt but it doesn't do much damage so I need to get my health low first. it could save up to 3 seconds if my health was low enough but I only saved 2 seconds since it took 2 hits to die.

Why does that chest spawn at the beginning? Awesome run btw I'm blown away!!
It actually spawns underground in what should be the mines but because its spawn point places it underground, it instead warps upward to the nearest open air space. It's a bit buggy so it doesn't always work though.
@potato4dawin1 woah....how on earth does it have black holes on it I thought the mines could only spawn rubbish wands?
@@JethanOnYourScreen regular chests can spawn up to tier 4 wands but it's rarer for a higher tier of wand.
of those wands only tier 1 and 3 wands can have black holes, and only tier 3 wands can have good modifiers to speed up the black hole.
then of all 2,147,483,648 possible seeds, only 1 seed was found to exist that had an acceleratium potion start, a chest with the right kind of wand, and the angry ghost perk in the first holy mountain. From there it was just a matter of manually checking the seed for a boss killer and luckily there was an acid flask that could barely be picked up.
This seed is truly 1 of a kind in that regard.
how did you spawn with a black hole wand? does seeded mean you get to set your starting conditions?
Basically when a world generates it determines the terrain, items, perks, and more using the world seed.
There are 2,147,483,648 different seeds and in the Seeded category you can pick which of the 2 billion+ seeds you use, in a random seed category you get whichever of those 2 billion+ seeds the game decides to give you.
I do sort of get to set my starting conditions but only if there's a world out there that has those conditions. If a combination of things is rare enough, it may not exist on any possible seed.
How lucky do you have to be to find a chest with a wand like at the start. Did you restart a thousand times to get it or is there a trick?

It helps me die faster to stop the ingame clock when I win.
How is you did this
After a lot of runs and theorycrafting me and some other members of the speedrunning community realized that in order to get the fastest possible time we needed a seed that gives a shortcut through the mines from the surface. Of all the seeds in the game there was only 1 which had a wand that could work with black holes and the gravity modifier as well as an acceleratium starting flask and the angry ghost perk in the first holy mountain.
It was a shuffle wand so it didn't always work first try but after restarting until it worked then I dropped down into the closest portal, picked up angry ghost and shot a black hole for angry ghost to copy.
Once the spell was copied I fired an empty starter bomb wand because it has very low cast delay and recharge rate and so it fires rapidly. Since angry ghost shoots its copied spell with increased speed whenever you shoot another wand, I used this to fire high speed black holes down and to the right in order to skip the portals and head directly to the final boss.
After scouting out the seed for a boss killer I eventually found only 1 viable boss killer on this seed which was an acid flask and so as I got close to it on this run I stopped shooting black holes to avoid destroying it so I could quickly pick it up and continue. Whenever my angry ghost copied another projectile I would shoot another black hole back to it to make it copy that instead.
For the final boss I threw the acid flask straight up to the center with my cursor far above so it gets thrown fast and pick up The Salt when the flask is in the middle of Kolmi so the flask breaks on him in the center so the acid actually affects him which kills him instantly.
Finally, since the time stops when I die, in order to speed up the very end by a few seconds I damage myself with the lava so I can use firebolt to die rather than wait for the game to turn me to gold and kill me.
This may sound complicated but compared to other speedruns it's fairly straight forward. There's also still a good amount of time save here if anyone wants to take the WR, I mainly did this because there's an in game pillar achievement for beating the game in under 1 minute and I wasn't satisfied with older methods using changing system clock and Daily Practice Runs to start near the end of the game. I wanted a full game

Technically it's the category name and rules so it's accurate. 🤔
When I first started running Noita I actually thought about that myself but the category developed in response to the worry that teleport spells, potions, and perks would make the category stale and so they called the new category without them "teleportless" despite the obvious exception of the portals because they're the standard way to get to the next areas.
If I ever return to Noita speedrunning I might do some "true teleportless" speedruns.
