I understand the lack of enjoyment after the first couple playthroughs. Once you learn the bosses and mechanics then it does get quite predictable but personally I like the feel of the vanilla mechanics, even corruption spread. Maybe I'm just crazy though.

@@max7971 They feel super bland at this point. Calamity is so much fun because it feels like a story. The lore and the designs of the weoposn and bosses just feels so new no matter how much I play it.

​@@max7971 I think its more about vanilla terraria being really rough on replayability. All the bosses, including stuff like daytime empress are pretty much only hard once. After knowing the progression amd fights all that remains on subsequent playthroughs is the grind which is incredibly tedious and uneventful in vanilla. I think the game is great but the replayability is quite low if you're not into building

Surprisingly, the zenith itself, without changes, is post-yharon appropriate on its own. It just had its recipe changed by the mod.

This is actually a good point. @potato4dawin When you get to it, I'd suggest avoiding using Zenith after Moon Lord as it is not in line with progression. Seeing you enjoy the boss fights, I think Zenith would ruin their difficulty after Moon Lord. Not sure what the appropriate approach is for this challenge though. Perhaps use Calamity weapons until you get to post-Yharon? Or try to get post-Yharon with only Moon Lord drop weapons if you want to go the extra masochism route 💀

@@Zoltekk1 It'd be quite the grind for Zenith anyway. I'd rather not over-prepare for a fight. Thanks for the info. :)

I might give it a try after this challenge is over. I've been stubbornly refusing to play with any kind of mod since Terraria 1.1 but back then the mods were way more rough. Thanks for the comment :)

@@potato4dawin1 so you are doing a challange for the mod,ruining your first impression by completly breaking the progression and spoiling most of the bosses?...yeah please dont,play the mod how it was intended first.

@@krzystajer5485 why should you care? if hes thoroughly enjoying the game like how it is, why should he play it with the "intentional game design" in mind? You are failing to take into account that hes not ruining it by playing like this. YOU just think he is, and judging by your negative response, you have played the game before. I personally adore the gameplay of calamity and QoL modded much more then the grindyness of vanilla terraria. I've for the first time watched "negative" content of modded by Sorbet Cafe on why he does not like modded terraria. makes some really convincing arguments for the grindyness of vanilla and mediumcore, not being objective bad but just majorly subjectively disliked. Ramble, but TL;DR: invalid criticism.

@@alexskv4644 okay,i agree with the most things said here,however i think he should play calamity normally first as the challange he is doing is extremly tedious and unfair ESPECIALLY at the post moon lord part of the game and im afraid he might ruin his experience.

yeah, TH-cam is all about "click through rate" and engagement. The last thumbnail looked great as a picture but it had purple colored The Hive Mind boss on the purple colored underground corruption background so it didn't stand out. Glad you liked the video. :D

It actually spawns underground in what should be the mines but because its spawn point places it underground, it instead warps upward to the nearest open air space. It's a bit buggy so it doesn't always work though.

@potato4dawin1 woah....how on earth does it have black holes on it I thought the mines could only spawn rubbish wands?

@@JethanOnYourScreen regular chests can spawn up to tier 4 wands but it's rarer for a higher tier of wand. of those wands only tier 1 and 3 wands can have black holes, and only tier 3 wands can have good modifiers to speed up the black hole. then of all 2,147,483,648 possible seeds, only 1 seed was found to exist that had an acceleratium potion start, a chest with the right kind of wand, and the angry ghost perk in the first holy mountain. From there it was just a matter of manually checking the seed for a boss killer and luckily there was an acid flask that could barely be picked up. This seed is truly 1 of a kind in that regard.

From my research it seems they removed the Dramen Staff's autocasting because swapping to it for fairy rings would remove the saved autocast from other staffs. Jagex spaghetti code and lazy fixes strike again.

yeah, I might just poison stall anyway. It'd be really dumb if they allowed tick manipulation but not this when they're both ingame timer manipulations. Those are some good points. My current end goal is the quest cape, and I suppose I'll think about what comes after that when I get closer to that. I'll definitely go more in depth into my thought process and plans in the next episode. I do feel like this episode was lacking in that regard as my focus was more on making a lot of progress.
