I've lived in Canada and USA, but when I went to Mexico city for the fist time it felt magical and people treated me like family. The city has a Mixture of Indigenous, Spanish and French culture which makes it so unique.

For all the foreigners visiting Mexico I'd like to give you a piece of advice. If you use the subway DO NOT carry your wallet/passport on your pockets. The subway is the easiest/fastest and cheapest way to move around the city and because of that there are lots of pickpokets. So my recommendation is: Have your belongings in a backpack and put it in front of your chest and hold to it when I'm the subway/bus - wearing it at the back is just as bad as having it in your pockets. I'm Mexican, I've traveled all around the world and I lived most of my life in there. And even though it's a wonderful city bad people can be found everywhere so please follow my advice and enjoy my country/city ❤️
