I like how in world 6 you can see stuff from dkcr levels on the background
Funky was always my favorite kong, but I never got the chance to play as him.
Got my Tropical Freeze last week and even being someone who always plays my games at the high difficulty available I said "screw it! I'll play as Funky first!".
Of course I've imposed myself some challenges/restrictions like only using double jump to get collectibles, losing 4 hearts = death, only 2 hearts for carting mine, etc...
I'm having a blast with this game and I'm really glad Hard Mode is available to Funky.
0:46 You can optimize a little more by full bouncing off the Punchy Paddy and doubling to reach the ledge.

Funky is a nice way of making Hard Mode easier lol
For a true hard mode, you should try it with Donkey.
Actually, I find that Funky makes hard mode harder. He appears to have the largest hit box out of any of the playable Kongs. As a result, I wound up ditching him in the very levels I thought I would be using him the most, including most of the underwater levels. I couldn’t get him past the falling chainsaws in Current Capers, and I found him to be an asset only in Shoal Atoll, where there is a greater chance of running out of air than getting hit by an enemy (including those orange sharks).
@@StuartSimon I am rusty with platformers as of late, I think this is harder than the original SNES games. Obviously I beat the game, but the challenge is all in how you collect everything and how perfect you do every level.
@@StuartSimon I feel like Hard Mode balances out Funky Kong. You get the abilities of Diddy, Dixie, and Cranky combined and then some, but you also only have one hit point. If Funky Kong wasn't designed as an easy mode, I feel like he'd fit right at home as a hard mode exclusive.
@@Ebb-2000 Yes, but were you able to get Funky past the specific obstacles I mentioned? If you did, then Funky might well balance out hard mode. If you didn’t, then Funky just makes those levels harder than they would have been with Diddy or Dixie.

Do you need also in hard mode collect the blue kong letters.?
I know I'm late, but no you don't need to collect those to complete hard mode just pass the level. However if you collect KONG it turns from red to blue and is an extra achievement I guess.

So ive beat every level got all the Kong and puzzle pieces and it still want switch to hard mode… I’m just not understanding! But it has the symbol for hard mode on my screen im confused I need help?

@@user-bg1nh2fi2c So far, I’ve cleared every level in the first 5 worlds of the game with a Shiny Gold Medal & no damage, and that was all in normal mode/without Funky Kong.
