Shelda honestly had me laughing throughout this dlc content. Plus the way Shelda said "Floopty, did you tell the journalist to throw acid at you?" had me laughing for 5 mins straight.
Bugsnax turning from a Pokémon-like catching game into an allegory of Christianity is something I never thought would happen

I haven't started the video yet so this is a very confusing but not wholely unexpected comment to see here. Bugsnax would do some shit like this
RT accidentally breaking the cappuccettle so that he could catch it after someone said there's only one place to do it just shows the power that the drift king truly possesses
technically, there’s multiple places you can catch it, as it’s only immune to traps, and not other bugsnax. you can just cover it with a sauce that an aggressive snak in that area likes, wait for it to get stunned, and grab it.

me after flunking out of college and becoming severely depressed
ok not that i don't understand why people dislike shelda but!! like the hypocrisy she shows is kind of the whole point!! what bugsnax do is they tempt you with their appetizing appearance and delicious taste and then they exploit your weaknesses and then make you crave them more and more!
lizbert in the ending reveals that *everything* on the island is snakmatter; that means, even though shelda has been trying to abstain from eating bugsnax by eating (described in game as) gross ground-up plant pellets, she has actually been consuming the parasites the whole time, though unknowingly.
she outright tells you that she genuinely believes in what she preaches, and through her questline you find out that the reason she assumes this 'shelda, the prophet' sort of persona is because she believes that no one will listen to her without this kind of confident, divine truth kind of persona.
in her youth she was always told that 'bugsnax contain toxins' - but nothing else. she believes it, she knows it, and she preached it to snaxburg, but literally nobody in town believed her. in fact, everything in town seemed to revolve around the bugsnax! so because of the parasite snakmatter she was unknowingly consuming through the plant pellets exploiting her insecurities - or, perhaps, just a lapse in judgement - she became so disillusioned with her own beliefs (or perhaps just got too hungry) that she just... ate bugsnax anyways, hiding behind the guise of 'purifying' them.
yes, shelda is a hypocrite for eating the bugsnax. but she expresses shame for going against the values she believes and preaches, for being a bad example for everyone that can tell she's been eating snax (i mean it's a *lil* obvious), for doing the very thing that she wasn't supposed to do. that's why i feel like rt and chat were a bit too mean to shelda and it just made me feel a bit like they weren't really paying attention to what her storyline was, so i just wanted to explain for anyone that was maybe curious.
anyhow sorry for rambling ahgfhfisdfk i did enjoy this vod otherwise! im just kind of obsessed with the writing of the characters in bugsnax. i both cannot and totally believe this came from the devs of octodad
Yeah I wished more people would not hate on Shelda so much. Like yeah I also kinda hated her but her storyline and quest was so good and kinda sweet? She’s actually nice and kinda funny. I wished streamers and RT would actually listen to the storylines and y’know the background of the characters? It bothers me so much but she becomes more likeable as more time passes one 💪💪💪

RT joking about Bugsnax having brutally violent ending in which character murder each other is funny when you look into the original idea for the ending in which Eggabell was taken over by the bugsnax, turning almost like a zombie and tried to murder Lizbert in her out of control anger, only for Liz to push her off a cliff in self-defense, and Eggabell then falls to her death, with her body splitting apart into bugsnax.
It's real, look it up.

I would think a better sequel would be an open world in the apocalypse after that straby that escaped managed to reproduce and bring down grumpus society world wide.
I sincerely hope the entirety of the grumpinati is bald and drives cars, then the Bald Agenda will finally come to fruition
5:08:33 RT talks about how they might make a sequel, and it reminded me about the Strabby at the end of the credits that was hiding on the balloon-boat. Like, there's confirmed a Bugsnak on the mainland, or at least on an island beyond Snaktooth. That, I assume, it how a sequel will be established.
In addition, there's the Snakolytes that exist in Clumbernut, Jamfoot, and probably others. If Jamfoot is "observing" the Survivors of Snaktooth as stated in the end credits (so all of our main cast could feasibility appear in the next game), then they might be rounded up and kidnapped by the Snakolytes to silence/recruit them.
There's also the experiments that Floofty was doing, so they might also continue to visit Snaktooth despite the danger/be convinced to give info to others about the island.
The end credits also have Liz and Eggabell on Snaktooth, free of the Bugsnax. We see them together as the Queen, then with partly bugsnak parts, then fully free of them - so presumably that is in chronological order. All of the other photos were of the characters lives post-game, so theoretically the island is somewhat under their control.
All good sequel routes IMO. Based on the game's success, I Desperately hope they make a sequel!

I think the Cappucceetle was able to be caught because; while it was simultaneously scared by RT being so close, he put the tripwire directly on top of the Snak. Cappucceetle can't trigger the wire by default, but RT did it by walking over the wire. Anything near the wire gets stunned, as a concrete rule in the game's code.

I feel the game is a more direct look at addiction. It's people each trying to cope with their lives through addiction, and trying to break addiction by coming to terms with the issues driving them towards it.
