DUDE!!! A flathead! And it was massive aswell. That’s so nuts 🔥. Really want to catch a flathead, seem like a really cool coloured picky eating river monster.

Hey I'm not from your area and I've never seen people tag fish, what's the reason?

The fish I catch are often very large specimens for their species and is not beneficial to keep them as 1. they are native species that are beneficial to the environment 2. have accumulated many toxins over many years and 3. I feel it is important to release large fish to help spread the genes to future generations of fish. Such as many would release a 12lb bass, It is also important to release 6 foot gar, 40lb catfish, etc. In my opinion. With that being said I keep carp, shad, mullet, and hardhead catfish for bait as they are sustainable to keep due to them being “prey” fish. Which have larger amount of specimens compared to “predator” fish. Think amount of mice on earth vs amount of lions. Large predator fish keep the prey fish populations healthy.
