Would really like to see the F-35 face off against the F-22 in a BVR scenario. As you mentioned. the F-35 wasn't designed for this. Bring the F-22 into the F-35's world and I think it is a much more interesting fight, especially if you were in the F-35.
Considering that battle Penguin managed to juke you for as long as he did...
I think we all would like to see YOU fly it.
In fact, i was kinda hoping today was the day, since you usually fly the underdog.
Now i know you have some sort of apprehension about flying the F35 in your videos.
But i'm pretty sure most fans are DYING to see what you can do with one once you got your bearings in it.
Would love to see the French Rafale versus the British Eurofighter.
Great video, see these kind of fights is amazing!
The downside of stealth. Damn, where did i park my F35😅😅😅
Just grab the keys and hold down the panic button! Lol
Military: "you lost our plane"
Pilot: "What plane?"
“Losing a 100 million dollar aircraft is crazy”
I would agree GS, but considering the defense budget.. I think it’s been taken care of. 😂
It sounds like a lot but it is only about $0.30 in taxes from every American.
@@arcosiancosine1065we do pay 2% of our salary for the military.
*F-35 Jet Mystery Ends as Wreckage Is Found*
Debris was found north of Charleston, S.C., one day after a pilot on a training mission ejected and the military lost track of his jet.
If the radars were modeled accurately (and there's no way they could be) a BVR fight would be interesting IMO.
The F35 went to the same place my socks go when I put them in the dryer and then they're never seen again
How good is the F-35 model in DCS? I'd never expect it to win in a dogfight. What I'd really like to see is a Fox-2 fight.
@@RW-zn8vy Sorry - I meant a dogfight with a F-22.
@@RW-zn8vy We don't know much about the SU-57 either... yet they've made it quite competitive in DCS, even against a Raptor. In reality though... it might be as stealthy as a F-18.
@@artiefakt4402, it's fanboy syndrome. They build the planes according how "popular" each plane is and based on the hype you hear. If you had the actual performance numbers dialed into these planes on DCS, I think you'd find out that things would go far differently. Not only the performance numbers, but the actual capabilities of the planes systems as well.
now i wanna see the f35 dogfight 4th gen fighters like the typhoon, hornet, and flanker
The F-35A would have performance comparable to the F-16 but the F-35A has better thrust and acceleration due to the better engine and more aerodynamic design. The A model would be the best dogfighting variant due to the internal gun and the lack of all the extra stuff the F-35B has, as well as smaller wings with less weight.
The F-35 would be excellent in a dogfight, but against an F-22 nothing will survive.
I dunno. The f16 is quite a bit lighter that the f35. I'd think the f16 can turn better.
@@bonedoc4556 yes the F-16 is lighter but the F-35 has remarkable performance, from what we know the F-16 has a better max turn rate but the full capability of the F-35 is most likely far greater than that of the F-16.
F-35 with 9x and using its IRST and HMS should be able to hold its own even against F-22...
sure guns only Raptor wins, but with its avionics using missiles the 35 is literally capable of shooting at targets BEHIND itself ... which means the second you go in its WEZ you are dead without it needing to put a nose on target
@@Asghaad exactly, the F-35 is maneuverable too so in guns only it can hold its own against many.
@@bonedoc4556nope, f35 can out rate the 16
It's so cool when both crafts work together.
Love the Raptor vids.
I wanna see more dogfights where you’re in the underdog fighter, wanna see how good you can be against a better fighter!!!
You should just eject from the f35 and see what happens lol
While on auto pilot…
30 years in Levenworth😝
Cornfield Bomber 2: Stealthy boogaloo
How come you never fly the F35? You literally have no videos of you flying it.
Thanks!
The Raptor definitely is ahead of its time🐐
That`s the way the cookies crumble.
The fight we are really looking for is GS in a F35 getting it on with a Raptor and winning it.
i really don’t like that a lot of people believe that the F-35 isn’t maneuverable, it is really maneuverable for a plane without TVC
Really not many pilots or ground crews refer to the F-35 as "Fat Amy", it's more of a nickname given to her by defense contractors and aviation enthusiasts. "Battle Penguin" is another unofficial nickname for her as well.
I have heard "fat Amy" is mostly a DCS community and crackpot defense analyst nickname.
@@Momomaster25 Exactly, if I hear someone call the F-35 fat amy, I know exactly where they get their information from. All F-35 pilots I know call it "Panther" or "Battle Penguin"
This whole video just felt like the F-22 playing with its food. I’ve seen a lot crazier maneuvers out of that plane in these videos and a lot of close opportunities where a slight pull would have ended the fights a lot earlier.
hey GS, pleae make a video where YOU fly the f35!!!
If the f35 crashes near my house, it's mine, not giving it back. That what's call mutual feelings.
Insane that the Navy/Marine Corps versions don't have an internal cannon. I thought this lesson was learned over Vietnan...
Sitting here thinking the same thing.
The difference in missile range and tracking between then and now, though.
maybe they just werent design for such. but hey gun pods still work
@@abstractedaway
But based on an assumption of variables, while having low statistical probability, are still possible in an engagement. I have never had a fire, yet I keep fire extinguishers in my house and vehicle, under the assumption that if I ever do need them, I will really badly want them available immediately...
The air force came to the same conclusion, and retained the gun.
@@BeingFireRetardant Still very unlikely that scenario will ever happen again. Especially since you will never have a lone F-35. It's more worth it to save the weight for the next 50 years than to load a gun in the fear that you might have a gun fight.
I'm sure there were people saying how much more reliable horses were than cars whenever they broke down in the early 1900s. Doesn't mean anyone would take a horse over a car in a road trip of 1000 miles nowadays.
GS is such a good fighter I feel like he could probably win in either jet. I would like to see a series of videos where they swap jets - could be separate videos that contain links to each other.
Amazing maneuver of the F-35A there. Hopefully it's gonna happen on the 42nd suggestion time of mine that you should do a MiG-29 vs Su-57 Felon BVR/Dogfight scenario to test BVR and maneuvering skills despite the dech differences. Feel the need, GS!
Do BVR
GS, please do the Gripen vs F-35 gun fight!
I don't want to sound ungrateful because I am grateful for your content, but I wanted to see you fly the F-35 ⚡⚡
Jester was flying that F35.
Will the proliferation of stealth airframes increase the amount of merges and dogfights in the future?
I think BVR and Fox 2s will still be a thing
The last round. Cobra with Fat Amy. Priceless.
Hey man,
I'd like to remind you, that you are the better pilot in the dogfight most of the time. On top of that, if you also fly the jet , thats clearly the better one of the two, then the outcome of the dogfight is certain. Which makes the video overall much less exciting. The video would be much more interessting if you would happen to fly the F35 or generally the worse jet.
Hes done that many times.
He does that when flying an F-15 against any version of the Flanker or flying anything against the Su-57 Felon.
@@TridiverParanormal doesnt change my point.
@@markymarknj doesnt change my point.
@@markymarknj su-35 vs f-15 isnt as big of a diffrence like f-35 vs f-22. F-22 air superiority fighter vs a multi role jet. When it comes to su-35 vs f-15, its not even really clear which one is better. You as a american of course will say f-15 but you will never know.
"Mom! I found a F35 stealth fighter in the woods behind our house. Can we keep it?!"
"Ask your father."
Day 120 of asking for AH-64 Apache versus Su-57 Felon
one day...
They found the debris field, but if they didn't I am willing to bet that Bubba and his boys took the plates off to throw on this truck to avoid speed traps and putting that jet engine in too
Was going to buy an F35 on DCS, but one fell into my backyard yesterday!
Awesome video as usual dude. Do think that was an unfair fight 😂 but still fun to watch. Everyone knows an F-35 doesn't stand a chance in a dog fight against anF-22. Like I keep saying man you should use the F-35 against a whole range of plains in BVR. Think you need to prove to yourself that it is a ridiculously capable stealth platform used in the way it was designed. I truly think you could beat most if not all aircraft in BVR. Wish you would do it. You might find a live for fat Amy. Would be interesting to see if DCS has the cockpit and your 360° visual there for you to use. 🤔 just a thought, but keep the sick videos coming. Great Chanel mate.
F35's defensive BFM held up for a good while. Kudos to the pilot.
Pilot walks out onto the parking apron..."Hey, where's my F35??!!!"🤣😝😝
You honestly should have opened this video with the F 35 pilot ejecting preemptively like Jester and the plane soaring off into the sunset
"Dude, where's my F-35 ?!"
Noo wayyy, a few days ago i was thinking a video like this would be cool, and here it is! :D
The F-35 that got "lost" was being flow by the Marine Corps. The aircraft experienced a malfunction that auto-ejected the pilot without the pilot's consent and crashed somewhere in South Carolina. My buddy in the Corps stated that the situation proves why the Marines can't have nice things and why they aren't given the new toys; they just find a way to break them early on.
That last cobra maneuver hilarious
Hey what's the name of the song that starts playing at 7:10? You've used it many times before, and I often get it stuck in my head because of how catchy it is
Hulk sittin in that F-35 flying around....
What I read in the beginning: “Thank you to Toxic for volunteering to be slaughtered for this video”
You know the pilot watched it in stable flight as they were coming down in the chute and was like oh im in so much fucking trouble
Sounds like a remix of the classic Battlefield Theme. Nice!
A 100mm aircraft that can’t punch its way out of a paper bag when it comes to a dog fight. Just what we need.
Dogfighting is peak performance. Return to prop planes as there's no other considerations.
You have no idea what your talking about.
Damn this video had a lot of beautiful shots of the raptor
Also battlefield them always hits me with that nostalgia
I came to read the comments, and I wasn't disappointed.
It’d be cool to see some missions with the F35 where it’s being used for its intended purpose.
Slaughtered like Jawas.
I wanna see you do more planes against the F-35. I'd really like to see you in the F-15 and F-16 against the F-35
”’The F-35 cannot match the F-22 as an air superiority fighter-it was never designed as such. The US Air Force’s initial plan was for the F-22 to be its high-end air superiority fighter while the F-35 was developed essentially as an air-to-ground strike aircraft capable enough to protect itself.’” - USMC Lieutenant Colonel David Chip Berke (Ret). CO of the first USMC F-35B squadron.
That was pretty brutal. How about F-35 vs. Su-35?
