    I did it!!! Thank you....Took 2 hours as others have said. For me, i was not expecting iy to take so much force to remove the side leather rails. I had to really pull hard to get those out. I thought I was going to breack them, but eventually I got them out. The rest of yhe process was just luke the videos. I'm so happy I didn't have thrle dealer sell me a new unit.
    I also really appreciated the sense of accomplishment when I finished and it all worked perfectly!!!

      Yes, it can take some force to remove the clips. Nice job!

    Guys n Gals this works perfectly. I'm a independent used car dealer that handles very nice used cars. I have fought these screens for years. I actually would not buy one that had this problem because my local GM dealer wanted between $1000 and $1500 to fix. They even talked me into a $125 radio software update that they thought might fix the issue. The update did nothing to help. Came across these guys on TH-cam here and thought I would try it. Did it myself. Took around two hours as I wanted to recheck everything I did. Radio works perfect. Can't thank these guys enough. Also wanted to say my old screen looked perfect. No bubbling, no cracking or anything else. But it was going crazy every time I drove my 2017 escalade. Stop pulling your hair out and screaming at the radio. You can absolutely do this. My center chrome piece was very hard to come out. Stuck good at the bottom clips. Everything else popped right out . Calls these guys and order one. You will be happy. Thanks again guys. Just wanted to add I purchased the Dual screen kit.

    You guys are the literal best!!! My husband and I just finished installing the new screen in my Escalade and what a difference!!! I'm so happy I found this fix before taking it to the stealer, uh dealership and being raked over the coals! :) Thank you 100 times over!!!

    Thanks for providing not only an excellent product at a great price, but excellent video tutorials.
    Took me 2 hours, taking my time and pausing the videos as I went. Hardest part was getting the ignition trim section off, just took more effort than I thought it would need (2017 Escalade).
    Only other note is that I needed a Torx 15 bit for the 6 bolts holding the cover on the CUE unit, not a 7mm hex. I had one handy, but might be something to mention in the tool list for others.

    Very good instructions. I did have a lot of problems removing the leather coated side with the start button in it. In the end i had to remove the panel under the steering wheel to get a grip firm enough to pull it out, but apart from that, this was a walk in the park and everything works like new. Thank you very much.

      Yes, sometimes the escalade side panels get sticky and have to use a lot of force to get the clips to release.

    My 2017 Cadillac Escalade now has a beautiful and functional CUE screen! Today I watched both videos for this DYI project, even more again while working on it through to completion. Testing all functions before reassembly of dash trim. The great video and my past electronics background helped. 7mm screws on dash, but we’re not on the back side my unit itself, it had 3/32 Allen. THANK YOU CUESCREENS, we saved me $$$$, that otherwise would have gone to the dealer!

      My Escalade has 62K miles and only recently did the failure become a problem. So I’ve had good luck with the original screen, I know many had failures with much less mileage.

    AWESOME VIDEO! Got it installed and works perfectly. NO WAY to do this without the excellent video instructions. As said in other posts, watch the video a couple of times. Follow EXACTLY as he does, taking your time and rewinding often at touchy spots. About two hours, but you'll feel like you can turn in your application to Apple as an engineer when you're done.

    The leather console pieces will not budge! I have the pry tools (and physical strength), but I'm pulling on these sooo hard and they're not breaking loose. I'm afraid something is going to break with as much force as I'm using. Both the right and left side.
    Any ideas for me?

  • @sp00f34
    @sp00f34 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't get the lower instrument panel to go back in. That big piece under the steering wheel. You can see the clip is lined up but it just will not budge. Is it because the ignition panel is in all the way already? Do I need to do the instrument panel first and then the ignition panel? its stuck but when looking in it, the clip is lined up. Can't put that tiny dash trim in (above the ignition panel) because the bottom panel isnt going all the way in

    • @CUESCREENS
      @CUESCREENS  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So on the escalades the dash knee piece and the side piece of the tunnel nest and interlock together. Make sure they are interlocked first. You will see the tabs and slots to align.

      @@CUESCREENS thanks for your reply. I definitely heard the video say that several times but I thought they were lined up? I’ve just been driving with it loose. Got some more work im doing to the stereo this weekend so I’ll give it another shot. Thanks bro. One thing I’d like to mention is the ribbon cable that is shipped tucked in. When I carefully tried to get the cable to pop out, the top of the cable cracked. It still works but I figured based on how careful I was, this crack must have happened to many many people. Thankfully it works though. Other than that, I was able to do this all thanks to you guys. Really appreciate it.
