I'll never forget him as Harris on Barney Miller. The theme is my ring tone for crying out loud. Firefly was epic and he added a lot to that show. But to see him so appreciative to us fans is so heart warming. Thank you Ron Glass for taking me through all my emotions but sadly now I'm truly saddened by your passing. I hope you've found peace.

I particularly love the way Ron Glass was able to be both the supporting, nurturing Shepherd with the tiniest thread of menace under that. Curious that he was able to layer both together like that so effectively.

I remember when I was a kid we had a big assembly at our school. Ron had went there when he was a kid also . Sitting in the gym at St. Anthony's it seemed so much smaller seeing a person from television there . He really did seen like a very nice man , he teared up speaking about his mother . Rest in peace Mr. Glass . Thank you for making me realize the world is a smaller place than as a kid I could ever realize .
The Barney Miller 'hashish brownie' was my favorite lol. Ron Glass had this joy about him and you can really see it in this interview. Loved him. If you've watched Firefly you can see where his character Book -- while not the captain-- is a glue that holds the family/crew together. After his initial angst, he becomes the moral compass without being preachy. There is a scene in one FF episode where River Tam is tearing pages out of the Bible, and rather than a hell and damnation he holds her hands and says, 'You don't fix the Bible, River. Faith fixes you.' Mal never regains his faith, even in Serenity. But Ron Glass's character died and to me, with his character's death (and Wash), it was the finality of it. That he brought so much to the world, not just Serenity with his sense of humor his compassion, our world is smaller.
"How come you don't care where you're going?" "Cause how you get there is the worthier part." "I'm Kaylee, and this here's Serenity." "I'm called Book."
He did a cameo in CSI New York that he was just the greatest. To me he shined over all the actors and actresses in that short time he was on that episode. God I miss him.

it's weird. I've been athletic all my life. this year had a stroke. Could have died. God had other plans I reckon. It wasn't slow either it was so fast I couldn't say help or anything. the docs still don't know what caused it. But peeps don't realize just how fleeting that last moment might be. No time to make a decision yes or no. I couldn't pray God help me! But a lot of folks I know have been dying left and right, those I grew up with and those friends I've accumulated along the way. Best make decisions before it's too late I say.
