Arthur dark would you fulfill my request by visiting the grave of John philip sousa please and you are a sweet special caring kind person on youtube 🇺🇲🇺🇲
In an earlier Hollywood Graveyard installment, as Arthur first covered Jack, he decided to be clever with what it said on Jack's grave marker. "Here we find Jack Lemmon in... his grave".
Thank you Arthur for another great video. Fun fact: David Hyde Pierce who played Niles Crane on the tv show Frasier modeled his character Niles after Tony Randall's character Felix Unger.
The characters of Niles and Frasier both had a lot of Felix in their characters, with their dad Martin adding a bit of an Oscar vibe to the show, especially with his favorite chair.
@@6falconsue I've heard if Frasier never went to Boston and made friends he would have turned out like Niles. Great show. Many laughs. Looking forward to the reboot.🙂
Tony Randall made headlines for another reason as well - becoming a father very late in life TWICE. He fathered his daughter Julia while he was 77 years old, and again became a father to his second child, a son named Jefferson, a year later.
My folks met Tony Randall and Jack Klugman at an Odd Couple live event many years ago and got a shirt autographed by them. To this day, that shirt has been in my family for almost 40 years and is still hanging on the wall in a glass case. It is a prized possession of ours.
I love that Matthau and Lemmon were great pals and costars as were Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. I still enjoy watching the series. Its always a treat to hear Penny Marshall say "Myrna Turner." 😂
Thanks for showing this. I played Oscar Madison on stage & knew Jack Klugman as a good friend and miss him a lot. I still know all my lines and on occasion while I am talking or doing my TH-cam videos suddenly I start doing Oscar but with the voice of Walter Matthau. Even my 46 year relationship with my girlfriend Kathy has its Odd Couple aspects. My place is cluttered & has 18 bookcases but getting better because I am having a respite from injuries, asthma and having had Covid & I got tired of having a mess and cleaning it up ( only my double injured knees keep me from doing more and as much as I would like ) while Kathy just gave up on cleaning and because even more Oscar like than I am though her girlfriend's complaints and mine are finally making headway & she is FINALLY cleaning her apartment. I am 71 & Kathy just turned 67. She was neat in the 1970's and 1980's but 2 failed marriages broke her spirit. We've been together on on off since the night we had our first date on Halloween in 1977. We still love each other but we found out we can't LIVE together as we drive each other nuts. I actually got to use the line " Shut Up Felix " yesterday when she went on a rant about something and I told her that she was being ridiculous and had to START listening to me as I am older, have more experience & know how people are going to act and NOT what she THINKS they are going to act.
I had the great fortune of working for Walter Matthau in the early 1990's. He talked about how he and Jack wanted to do the Odd Couple on stage but that Walter would play Felix and Jack would play Oscar. Arthur, thank you for doing this special episode.
Every episode of HG has me going, "Oh yeah, I remember that!" So many talented people ❤ Lemmon had a great sense of humor for having that (and only that) on his gravestone
I got teary-eyed🥲 watching this upload because the TV series The Odd Couple is one of my all-time vintage favorites. Although Randall and Klugman are no longer with us, it's comforting that they will forever be in our hearts, including their counterparts Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau,🤣 the original Oscar, and Felix, who made us laugh in the 1968 comedy flick. I can't think of two perfect performers who can exceptionally play the characters of Madison and Unger than Jack and Tony🥰. RIP Oscar and Felix🙏. You are beloved and will NEVER be forgotten 😌
Impressive! What a lovely tribute! Maybe someday you could do a Jack Webb tribute: Dragnet (both incarnations),, Adam-12, Emergency, and The DA. Webb had his ensemble of actors including Virginia Gregg, Jack Sheldon, Gary Crosby and more. Thanks so much for all you do.
Jack was very loyal to his stable of actors, Peggy Webber (97 as of this post) was in a contentious divorce with her husband back in the day and Jack provided legal help and lots of concern WITHOUT expecting any recompense, he just saw a fellow human in need.
My favorite odd couple was Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. I really loved all of the shows that were on here as well. Thank you Mr. Dark for another great video 😀
This was one of my Grandma's favorite shows. I remember watching it with her alongside Little House on the Prarie and others when I visited. It came on at 3 pm so we would sit down before dinner to watch it. So many laughs we had. It changed to 6 pm later on so we could watch it after dinner. Such a funny and memorable show. 😂
I am not really much into comedy, but the television series of the Odd Couple with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman was one comedy series that I really enjoyed. I used to watch it all the time. Thank you very much Arthur, for another great video. 😊
So wonderful to know that both these roles have been played by tremendous actors, a huge fan of Mr. Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, Ron Glass, Tony Randall, Eddie Bracken, Jack Klugman and so many of their supporting players and coasters. Had no idea the series was so star-studded. Really wish the new odd couple ran a little longer, makes me sad that Mr. Glass left us so suddenly. But I am so happy to hear of his range. The scene that I think of most is when the plate of food is thrown against the wall and the look the two stars exchange reminded me so much of me and my brother growing up.
Glad to see you included Neil Hefti, the composer of The Odd Couple theme song. Besides Neil Simon, the only other common denominator of all the movie, TV Show, broadway versions. The theme was used thru out the shows, too. RIP, Neil Hefti!
What a trip through memory lane!!! I watched almost every episode of the odd couple and both movies. This video is a must for the younger generation so that they can see real comedy!!! Thank you Arthur once again for making our day!!!!
This was really great as i grew up watching Odd Couple on TV and the movie as well. Please do more like this. The possibilities are endless with '50s and '60s TV.
Loved this video featuring various iterations of The Odd Couple. I didn't know that Art Carney was the original Oscar on Broadway. Nicely done, Arthur!
Again Arthur thank you for going back in Time of the Odd Couple Era. I also remember Ron Glass & Demond Wilson as Felix Unger and Oscar Madison. RIP to The Greats Always 🙏❤️💙
Thanks for reminding me how funny all the Odd Couple shows were! I saw the Odd Couple movie when I was 16 in the theater at the University of South Florida. I laughed so hard at the parts when Felix had his allergy attacks, I was afraid I would get thrown out! Every snippet you showed made me laugh. Thanks so much for sharing and showing where their final resting places are.
Walter & Jack were great comedy pairing as was Jackie & Art. My dad loved The Jackie Gleason Show ( me not so much) I like the interesting facts that Arthur gives with his vid post. Great video. Thank you for all your hard work for making movie memory. My father was a big movie buff. He passed six years ago and I find myself enjoying old movies now and I most enjoy how you touch on each one and give a little information on life and death. Thank you!!!!!
One of my favorite lines in the movie goes something like this: "I hate little notes on my pillow. The other day I found one that said "We're out of corn flakes. F.U." It took me 15 minutes to figure out that F.U. meant Felix Ungar." Another is "What buffet? Hot beer and two sandwiches left over from when he went to high school!" Thanks Mr. Dark. Your videos are the highlight of any week in which they appear.
Thanks for this video. I loved both the movie and the tv series. This was a great way to format your video. You should do more of these that tell about a group of people who worked together on a movie or tv series.
Another great video. I watched the 70s version with Tony and Jack. That also reminds me of the Eagle Foods commercials they were in. They played fictionalized versions of their Odd Couple characters but used their real first names. Those commercials were hilarious.
I really enjoyed this video, and especially appreciate your visit to Neil Simon. A better storyteller never lived in my opinion. And the fact he was buried next to his wife whom he outlived 45 years is all you need to know about him as a person ♥️
Wonderful production as usual. Interesting to note. As a high school senior and a member of the public speaking and drama club. I played Oscar in 1971. 50 years to the day, members of the play traveled across country to have a reunion at the high school. Which happened to be Aviation in Queens, NY. As a special treat I arranged for a backstage tour with the principal and no less, the teachers that were involved attended the reunion.

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau would reunite in the 90s for the Grumpy Old Men series of films, proving that their magic had not faded one single bit.

Why are some of your words capitalized when not need be?
You only capitalized words when it's the beginning of a sentence or if it's a proper noun, did you not take English class?
Fun, entertaining tribute, watch, men, interesting, fave, theme, hilarious, joy, and laughter don't need to be capitalized.
