Thanks for the great tips, good you pointed out that some people give misleading information about having to get a compulsory med surg experience before getting into the OR. I get that med surg is pretty much the foundation of nursing but not everyone may show interest in going that route👍

It’s not true that you need to go bedside or Med Surg as a new grad!! I have zero bedside nursing experience. Just started a Periop 101
Program at a Trauma 1 hosptial. It’s a year long program!! I Graduated in May 2021. Passed didn’t take my boards until Nov. I did COVID nursing for the school year while I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do because I know bedside was not where I wanted to be! I Interviewed in March was called end of April to shadow in OR and I got in! Only 14 spots 12 were internal applicants. If the OR is where you want to be fo d a way to make it happen!!
