      Having a good pen and even decent delivery isn't enough for that industry level. The most important factor in that space is having a marketable image that pushes record sales and sells out venues. It's all a business hence an actor like Drake who's stayed outright jacking other people's work, their songs, and plagiarizing old bars and deliveries from older artists' songs when he's not simply using his committee to write and put together his records. He's been anointed by the industry powers that be to sell sanitized hip-hop to the masses.

    Actually, I don't care about ghostwriters, I just want good music. HOWEVER, don't ever claim to be the best rapper/mc if you do (Keyword: RAPPER/MC). Especially if you had help on your greatest hits.

    • @HyphyJuice916
      @HyphyJuice916 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yeah that's why Drake will never be the greatest. I got plenty of other reasons why I don't think he's the greatest, let alone good, but not writing your own stuff and trying to say your good is crazy. Especially when so many of the GOATS literally have had their best hits written for each other. It doesn't make sense Drake somehow hasn't.

    • @OmoZed
      @OmoZed หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @pendrick okay. Let me clarify. When I said "greatest hits," I actually meant songs when they did their best rapping and not commercial hits.
      For instance, if Kendrick's Bad Blood feature was ghostwritten, I wouldn't care (or even "humble" or "alright"). But not "Duckworth" or "S.A.M.I.D.O.T."

    • @OmoZed
      @OmoZed หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pendrick Also, if you think no one NEEDS ghostwriters in the industry, you may not know it very well. Most people sell an image and not music, so artistic integrity is mainly non-existent. 95% is WAAAY too optimistic.

    Hip hop is about the lyrics and beat , it’s not about having a great voice and being a good performer like other genres , in genres like pop or rock it’s all about the performance, that’s why hip hop is the only genre that cares about ghost writing , hip hop has always been about talking about what’s on your mind and your experiences , so it’s disappointing when you find out a rapper’s music is not about his own experiences cause he didn’t live it , or even if they went through a situation alike , it’s not the same because the music didn’t come from him , anyways , hip hop cares about the artist , other genres care about performance. That’s why you don’t see rappers doing covers , like artists in other genres do

      Well no, that’s where you’re wrong. It may not be anymore, but once upon a time, all of those were factors. Delivery and standing out was very important. That’s how guys like Busta Rhymes became legendary. It’s so common now for everyone to use the same sounds and flows, but back then they would’ve gotten called out for biting/jacking. And I’m sure you’re aware of how big of a deal The Lox’s performance was compared to Dipset’s on Verzuz. People like Jay Z to this day take their performance, delivery, and stage presence very seriously as across the board (genres) artist development was a requirement. They don’t do that anymore, so all of these new artists that quickly rise to fame get thrown onto a stage or big interview platform with no prior training, and wind up looking and sounding ridiculous.

    Bringing Nas’ name up in this video is disrespectful and you should probably check your motives…
    When it comes to Nas… you need to understand the landscape of hip-hop nowadays. Having a ghost rider nowadays, doesn’t mean that much, especially when someone like Nas is already proven. Illmatic is not only the best hip-hop album of all time but one of the most lyrical albums of all time. Everybody knows that Nas can write!!
    If you’re going to make these kind of videos, you need to explain the landscape of pop music. Less than 30% of artists in the genre wright their own music. You have greats like Dr. Dre and countless others that have had ghost writers!
    That doesn’t take away from their talent. Nas has already shown everybody he has lyrical abilities that far surpass the majority… especially compared to the absolute sewage that is passed off as hip-hop nowadays.
    If you’re going to bring this up, you need to actually talk about the pop music machine that requires Artist to stick to certain trends and make music regardless of what they’ve got going on. This requires the majority to have ghost writers!
    You won’t even provide the context because you’re just getting clicks. This video is worse than having a ghost writer because you’re just spewing bullshit.
    If you were to break some news saying that Illmatic wasn’t written by Nas, then you might have something. But right now you’re just saying that Nas is doing what he needs to do to get money…🤷🏻‍♂️
    This is like you making a video…yet someone exposes you of having somebody that edits your video saying that you’re fake.

I.e. you have an idea for a song and you write a hook. One of the people in studio, will be like nah that shit dont sound good. Change this. This process can happen multiple times.
