Ah, my friend, it's good to hear your voice again! I last watched you playing 7th Continent, it's great to see you playing this! I might order when it comes into retail.
Thank you Andy! Oh the 7th continent is such a magnificent experince!! This game i feel has the potential to be even better!!!! Can’t wait ti continue!! Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
hahahahaha!!! Yes it took a little while, but we just got a new puppy so there has been a lot of sitting in the same room and watching her so I have found some good time sleeve
This video was great! I'm 3 scenarios into Dadachaem's Awakening with Denhom solo and love seeing what different choices you are making already. Also thanks to your video I found out I had been playing the chained actions wrong (in the same way they were on 7th Continent where you cound not take more than the specified number of cards). This is going to help me greatly in the future of my adventure. If you are going to do Dadachaem's Awakening next I will be sure to keep checking in to see how you do, it was great fun to watch!
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. I am excited to continue. I love games like this cus everyone can have such a unique experience but still accomplish the same goal!!! I’m busy sure what threat we/i will be going on in the future but stay tuned it will happen!!! Glad I could help with the chained actions. Hope you continue to enjoy your time at the citadel!! Thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Loving the playthrough! I look forward to more scenarios! I think when you give a Purse card to a fellow character, you have to discard cards from your deck equal to the weight of the item. So, handing the Axe off between Brook and Den would require one of them discarding 2 cards from their deck each time. (See pages 19 and 27 in the Rulebook.)
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. You are correct about sharing items totally forgot about discarding cards when you pass them to another person. Thank you for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Great playthrough Bairnt! It's not a game I would enjoy playing with the upkeep, but one I will love watching you and (maybe) Colin play! Thanks for sharing. 🎉
Thank you Crapoleon!!! I am going to get this to the table soon. Colin and I have talked and I think Kings of Ruin will be the next game so I will be soloing this one soon!!! 😃😃👍
Wow this setting turned a lot darker than the 7th Continent. The improvements on the mechanics are great, feels way more smooth and flexible. Still, all I could think during the playthrough was "We have to get back to the island!" Finished my first curse just last week because of your enthusiasm in the playthroughs :D
Great video, Bairnt! A small note: When you transfer items between players, one of the involved players have to discard as many cards as the item weighs.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it I totally forgot got about that rule I’ll make sure to put a note in the video. Thanks for the help and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Great video Bairnt! This looks like the beginnings of a grand adventure. Something that may help in future: when you use Second Wind at 1:46:28, it says you can "choose 3" cards, which I interpret that it is not random. Did not matter, because you pulled back most of your pile afterwars. But at a strategic point in the game, that could be very useful to put back exactly what you need.
You are totally right that card is quite powerful played at the right time. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the help, I’ll Make sure to put a note in. The video. thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Nice playthrough. Really enjoyed all the tough decisions you have to make. One thing that you might have forgotten at 1:45:55 I don't think you lost 3 life for the yellow guy failing to jump over. Only the red one lost 3 life. That would have made the ending fight a lot closer.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes I forgot to add that damage your right it would have been a way closer fight but I think we would have still made it through!! Thanks for the help and thanks for watching
I'm hooked! I own seventh continent although I haven't played it very much. I'm enjoying this playthrough and will continue to watch this series as the game definitely peaks my interest. I'm really digging all the additions added to the game, so I'm interested to see where you take it!
Thanks. Yes this has definitely built on the original 7th continent. I like all the changes they made when making this game. This will be continued soon. Keep your eyes open great to hear from you thanks for watching 😃😃👍
The centipede 😂 laughed so hard. Going to show the same game on my channel and try to translate it in german 😌 played a few threats already and love it 💪
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Fab not only did I go out and buy Distant Skies after watching your playthroughs (now about half way through my camps and loving it) I have added Robinson Crusoe and this one to my wish list. Both of you always sound like you are having the best time.
About difficulty. It looks to me that you have a good grasp of how to play this game effectively. If that is true and you like a challenge I think you would like playing with a higher difficulty. I played through one threat on normal and it was not hard. The only time I was close to failing was when I misread an instruction and told a HUGE detour.
Thank you!! I felt it was a good challenge. The hardest part is knowing how many cards to pull and when to use the cards in your hand. Also which cards are good. That auto success card seems really good except it has to be used during the gear up step so it could be waisted. Glad to hear that the hard mode is very doable. Thanks for all the great comments
I passed on this as the new world didn’t appeal like the “real world” of seventh continent. However my mate got a copy and it’s really exceptional. Still not in love with the random vernacular but it’s a lot more manageable than the continent
I do like that there is more structure but still gives you that exploration experience that the 7th continent has. I love not knowing what is out there super cool!!!! Always great to hear from you dungeon bones!!! 😃😃👍
A couple of small mistakes at the end. To pass an item you have to spend a card for each character. I’m also pretty sure you can’t do any other actions in the middle of an extended action (like fighting)
Yes forgot about the cards needs to pass items. But from how I read the rules the unless it’s mandatory the compound action can be resumed at any time after suffering the consequences. I could be wrong but that’s how read it thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
@@MeetMeAtTheTable I'm starting a Solo run, which is why I was watching your video (I played a bit with my wife before but never finished the first booklet. She lost interest). I know that she gives one of the skill point cards out if you save her... I think I might just play the entire run as though my character is selfish and only thinks of himself.
When you played improvise at around minute 48 couldn’t you have added one of the cards you played to complete the action to your hand? It sounded like you discarded all the cards. Improvise has two symbols and it doesn’t say choose 1 (at least I don’t think).
Thank you Yes you are correct. I should have added one to my hand totally missed that. I was too excited that I got to add another card to the Chain!!! Thanks for catching that I'll make a note in the video!!! thank you for the help
you are so welcome!! It has a very similar feel but yes totally different game. I really enjoyed the intro so far!!! thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching
however made this spin life counters made them upside down why would you spin upwards to get lower numbers, I say you need to go straight for all the production spaces on Destiny board since the later in the game you get them the less value they have ?
That’s funny I didn’t even notice till you mentioned it and I went and picked it up and you are right. The do spin differently then I would expect. I also think your plan on the housing is a great idea. Better to take advantage of the bonuses for as long as I can. Thanks for the great comment always great to hear from you!!! 😃😃👍
Objective cards are not always used to track something you have done. They can also be used to track something you failed to do. I thin that is what happened for you. You killed the tree monster. If you hadn’t you would have gotten an objective I think.

@@larrytheloner7964 Ok, I had to double check it. For 7th citadel, starting at 0, you push down to move health to 1 (right side tracker). The analogous side for Frosthaven is the experience tracker; when starting at 0, you push up to move to 1. So it's at least different between those two games.
To remove the bends in the map I used a hairdryer to carefully heat up the plastic and then immediately put a book on it to flatten. Worked great!
That is a great idea I’m going to do that. Thank you 😃😃👍
Thanks that was really helpfull instead of a book I used the gamebox of Oathsworn wich is pretty heavy 😄. Worked like a charm
