    Still think the speaker in this vox is not a Commisar. Not anyone, but the Guardsman the Marine mocks.
    He is exhausted, he is filled with doubt and fear. If it wasn’t for the phenomenal voice acting, I would say it was a commisar.
    But this doesn’t sound like a Commisar. The passion, the defiance, the sound of a man who stood against, and barely survived every foe known to man, yet still holds the line.
    If you want to think particularly NobleDark, there is the chance, that the Guardsman has a Rylanor effect, returning honor to the Marine, as he realizes his error. That a mere man brings back reality to a traitor. Even if he didn’t his only option is kill the Guardsman and live with the disgrace because there is NOTHING he can say to heal those third-degree burns.

      I prefer to think is an space marine, because a human or commissar talking highly of themselves does not hit as powerfully as a space marine giving that kind of merit for a mere man.

      @@ragnarogk It makes sense when a Chaos Space Marine is dumbing all of your kind’s achievements and acting all high and mighty. And it DOES work better because everyone typically thinks of normal humans as lesser, ESPECIALLY the enemies of Mankind.

    Abaddon listening in the background. As the Chaos Warrior is about land the killing blow he's ordered to halt by Abaddon.
    Abaddon walks up and raises his power claw and before the blow falls the Guardsman hears from the Despoilers mouth "Not since Sigismund..."
    A short time later a Warp gate opens near Terra and a casket containing the unmutilated body of a Guardsman holding his gun exits.

    • @62sy
      @62sy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is an answer tho: the black crusades were mostly successful. Abbadons crusades were power grabs more then anything. They were never meant to topple the imperium… they only served purposes for a greater end. Although we never got to see Abbadon’s full plan into action, he’s plan B still managed to cut the imperium in half and doom thousands of worlds to the whims of the dark gods.
      Just because the CSM can’t wipe out million guardsmen (and let’s be honest, if they have retained some semblance of their former intelligence, an act like that wouldn’t be too difficult if they actually strategized.) it doesn’t mean that a guardsman is superior then he. For they could achieve those feats with fraction of the number.
      But as he stated… he has something to look forward to. From his perspective he is living the dream… he has all he wants and is gonna be handed even more and more. Where’s the guardsman will die a mostly futile death and in his short existence he will only suffer.

      @dumboi5369 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chimcybergooble9796well, I don’t think so personally, as though I am generalizing a bit for what I am about to say, I’d say for the most part it holds true that most imperial guard regiments have their fighting doctrines and tactics centered around pieces of heavy equipment of one kind or another, of course there are regiments like catachan and the first and only who specialize as light infantry and in asymmetrical warfare, who do not operate these pieces very often and tend to favor infantry.
      But the Lasgun is too weak to give the infantryman much firepower, hence why I mentioned it, it may be a supermurder warcrime tier weapon against baseline human levels of infantry but it does jack all against demigod child soldiers stuffed with funni organs and steroids draped in super ceramic power armor.
      Or the daemons of literal gods.
      And massive ass green mushroom muscle men who can take quite a beating and live to kill you regardless.
      So yeah, why do you think they have squads and sections maneuvering and fighting as whole units instead of being able to split into fire teams to manuever like our modern infantry? It’s because the guardsman have relatively little firepower as infantry and are best suited in most cases to be meat shields against big bois for the actual damage dealing heavy weapons or an infantry screen against smaller foes to allow heavy weapons to again, do their magic.

The Guardsman may live for but a blink, he may never experience the highest points of pleasure, or the deepest depths of wrath, but he experiences love. He experiences duty. He experiences a life worth dying for.

    Wow this is actually pretty amazing, I dare say this is actually better than the video. Yes the video is great but it has a space Marine with superior powers speaking down on a chaos space marine, while this one sounds more like when a physically weak kid stands up to his bully, knowing he might get kicked to death, still speaks up his mind anyway. This is actually more inspiring as it sounds more human. And the voice actor did a great job!

      It's LESS meaningful if the implication is that this nameless Guardsman is being *possessed* by some "Giga-Chad Uber-Ultimate-Guardsman" who has faced down literally every threat imaginable and survived to cockblock Horus...
      It's *categorically* more meaningful if this nameless Guardsman is *JUST* a random, nameless Guardsman, with absolutely nothing special or unique about him save for his *OWN* willpower.
      Having some practically perfect poster-boy *possess* this man to give this speech, ONLY serves to undermine *THIS* man's integrity and agency.
      It is *objectively* filled with *more* meaning if the individual men and women who keep the darkness at bay, DO so of their OWN volition. That they have the choice to fall, whether spiritually or physically, and instead they *choose* to FIGHT, for their principles and loved ones.
      Do not undermine the value of personal agency.

    Being brave is, despite feeling fear, face it. It's easier to face the horrors of the universe being a superhuman in a clad of armor, or even BE the horror of the universe like the traitors.
    But it takes true bravery to face the horrors of the universe only equipped with the most mundane weapons and armor, while being fragile and feeling fear and every step
