Already uses it in GIMP, and I had no idea I could use it in Affinity! Thanks for this usefull and as always clearly explained installation procedure. How you don't get XXXK's likes for your videos is beyond me.
I use GMIC with GIMP. I was happy when GMIC became available in APhoto. Speaking of GIMP... V3 is getting close to release. One major GIMP improvement is that many of its functions will become nondestructive.
Hi @lowellaguno, thanks for the update on Gimp! I haven't used it in awhile. Maybe when V3 comes out I'll take another look at it. That program definitely has some really cool features!
Have you seen that from version 2.6, Affinity Photo will introduce AI neural networks to identify objects and subjects in the image? It turns out to be in beta version 2.6 it is already working. 🙂
Hi @gandolfred, I did see that but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It looks cool from seeing other people use it! Probably I'll make it the topic of my livestream on Nov 3. Stay tuned ;)
Sounds like a fun afternoon, David! By the way, something I didn't emphasize enough in the video is how much resolution can impact performance. If you are just experimenting, consider making your image smaller to improve speed. When you find something you like, then you can use it on the high-resolution image.
Hi @Nakkadeepak , It has been awhile since I connected these 2 programs. But here are some instructions that may help: docs.topazlabs.com/photo-ai/plugins
Unfortunately, it is not supported on Affinity for Mac. I have seen articles where people got GMIC working on a Mac with Gimp or command line, but I haven't tried it.
Nice! I've been wondering about good artistic filters so this will be very interesting to check out. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Trent, off to download it now 👍
Hadn't seen this before. Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks for the nice video Trent! 😉
No problem!
Thanks Trent!

Good , Thank you
Gmic comes with Krita, but I have used it in Affinity Photo and Corel Painter. Great plug-in, it always amazes me what it can do.
It does, though it does seem to have much better performance in when used with Affinity Photo.
Thanks for the video. What filter did you use to create the thumbnail for this video?
Hi @tendarb! For the thumbnail, I used the "Comicbook" filter under Artistic.
@@TechnicallyTrent thank you. I'll definitely be playing with that one!

@@TechnicallyTrent GIMP actually has far more blend modes than even Photoshop.

@@TechnicallyTrent Okay, we'll wait. 🤭
Looks like a great plugin, installing it now, 600+ filters will keep me occupied on this rainy afternoon.

do you know how to make a gta effect in a photo
Hi @LIOJRD! GTA has a cool art style, but I haven't yet found a filter that can do it in Affinity Photo. Let us know if you find one!
