Nice one! , I just had a quick check, and for (At least some) fonts you can use the search function in the Glyph browser to narrow down what you're looking for YMMV depending on fornts used but i hope this helps out with looking up glyph variants. As always Cheers Trent👍
Hi @Golemofstone, thanks for the tip! Yes, the search function has some usefulness. For example, you can type parts of words like "degree", "fraction", "minus" to show those characters. However, I find that it doesn't work well for individual letters, which is what I usually want to see. For example, if I type "d", it doesn't show me all the D's. But still, it is useful for searching for symbols!
Hi Elizabeth! The glyphs are part of the font when you install it. Technically, all the character images in a font are "glyphs". However, some fonts come with additional glyphs for alternate versions of a letter.
Hi @Bob-The-Guy! A ligature is a type of glyph that represents 2 characters. This is done because some pairs of letters look better with a single glyph then when you just put the letters next to each other. For example, the letters "fi" usually have a special glyph that more elegantly connects the "f" and the "i" than just putting the individual letters right after each other. Like the other special glyphs, what ligatures are supported will depend on the font. I'll probably make a video on this, so stay tuned.
@@TechnicallyTrent well I wanted that font. It is declared FREE. I added the the shop cart but when I went to download it, they asked me to join the payment plan. no way to get that font freely as declared. They are forcing ppl instead to invite them. This is what keeps me away form such site and ban them.
Thank you, Trent. You are the best. I went to text and turned off special characters and that solved my problem. I am a forever follower.
Great ! Very usefull. Thanks so much.
you are a life savour
¡Muy bueno!. Muchisimas gracias.

Thats interesting to know. How are the glyphs installed?

What is the difference between a Glyph and Ligature?

A ligature is a type of glyph that represents 2 characters. This is done because some pairs of letters look better with a single glyph then when you just put the letters next to each other. Was not aware of this, Thank You.
Thanks Trent. This has always confused me
is there a command or option to "ignore spelling" but of all the artboard or all words? Its kind of annoying keep seeing those while designing 🤣
Easy.
In the Text menu > Spelling: deselect 'Check Spelling While Typing'
Great , thanks 🎉
@@PeterTodd thanks a lot peter!
I dislike the "download for free" and then "free trial" obliging you to subscribe. It's something that pushes me definitely away from that site.
Yes, sometimes popups can be very annoying on some sites unfortunately.
