"...might as well be 120." Okay, challenge accepted. It was only 107 when we started up last Saturday. Not a fan of fire roads, so we went up the singlettacks spreading oak up to Araquipa, and just at the series of switchbacks (almost made it) we bailed and drop down to jepsen. Probably just as well, as I was really starting to overheat and had to find a shady tree and sit for a bit on the way down. Watching the last 2/3rds of your video, I realize there's still a lot to explore. Hope to return soon! Our original plan was to ride Rockville, but it was closed suddenly for some reason. This was certainly memorable. I have driven by this place for years and never realized it was here. Did Crockett today, and what a difference in temperature and exposure! Two great first time parks to explore this weekend!
Awesome!! Yeah, I had driven by it a bunch of times and never thought twice about riding it. Glad you enjoyed it, I know i sure did. Crockett is great as well, sounds like you got some good riding in!
Good to see this review. I hiked it last weekend with my wife and I’m considering going back to bike it. Heretic Brewing is only 15 minutes away for post ride refueling. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the uploads. Good preview for different trails I plan on hitting in this area. If you get a chance, check out the American River Bike trail in Folsom. I think your riding style is similar to mine so I think you would enjoy it
welcome! I really liked the video and your channel and I will keep an eye on the next content. I also ask you to watch my channel and if you like it you can subscribe too. good pedaled buddy
This is my least favorite place to ride. As you discovered, it’s freaken hot and it almost always is. That tower climb is brutal for me as well. Too much climb for such a short down hill. My favorite trail is the buckeye trail but even then it’s kinda week compared to Rockville and Moore creek which are the next closest spots to ride. Also, after rain, the cows can really chew up the trails as well.

I hiked there years ago. Didn’t know they had bike trails. Good to know. Thanks!

Thanks Aaron! I had a blast riding it, minus the 90 degree heat. Thanks for the brewery tip 🍻
Nice video Jake! It's always fun riding @ Pena. Definitely looked SUPER hot. You climbed a lot that day!
Thanks! Pena is fun! Looking forward to going back (when it’s not a thousand degrees)
Great tour. I always drive by there on my way to Rockville and think about stopping sometime. Maybe I’ll give it a go in the fall
Thanks! You should, I had a lot of fun! Waiting to ride until fall wouldn’t be a bad idea ha!
@@JakeSpeakman Yeah, the No shade over there is why I always drive by. 😂
I totally get it! Haha, it gets brutal out there!
hey jake nice run
If you ever find your self out in vacaville again most definitly need to visit the buckeye trail.
Thanks Chuy! I’ll give that a try next time i’m there! 🤙
Pena Adobe is one of my favorite trails. I’m looking into China Camp, maybe two weeks from now.
I liked Pena Adobe! I’ll definitely be going back. China Camp is epic, thats my backyard! You’ll love it
Pena Adobe is fun. I'm waiting for it to turn green out there before I ride it again. That tower trail is a training Beast for sure!
Tower trail is no joke, a leg and lung burner for sure!
Awesome!
Thanks! 🤙
