- The sci-fi/horror-thriller takes the phenomenally successful “Alien” franchise back to its roots: While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (“Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (“Don’t Breathe 2”) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. “Alien: Romulus” is produced by Ridley Scott (“Napoleon”), who directed the original “Alien” and produced and directed the series’ entries “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant,” Michael Pruss (“Boston Strangler”), and Walter Hill (“Alien”), with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (“Charlie’s Angels”), Brent O’Connor (“Bullet Train”), and Tom Moran (“Unstoppable”) serving as executive producers.

You mean the writers.
The fact that they are using a lot of sets and practical effects rather than full blown over the top cgi is a big plus in my book.
I know right!!!!
The white room at the start is completely made up In blender using unreal engine 5 lol. Of course there is no cgi if the entire movie is cgi lmao.

Nothing will ever top those Prometheus trailers but still appreciate the callback to Alien
Prometheus was overhyped cuz it’s been since 30 years
They're really throwing it back a bit with the old ship settings, the claustrophobic, closed-in scenes... This is almost a breath of fresh air!
@moonage_ don't forget the futuristic weaponry, that Pulse Rifle the character wields was featured in the ALIENS Fireteam elite game and I am glad that it isn't a generic AR-15 with laser sights like in Alien Covenant lol
Irony 😂

Yeah, that means ZERO new ideas. Which usually means a shitty movie...
This is supposed to be an Alien 1.5 movie, that is halfway between Ridley's original film and Cameron's Aliens film. Written and directed by a Spanish director and Ridley is very happy with it.
I love it when trailers don’t spoil the whole movie for you
Teaser trailers usually don't.
That's the job of the next 8 trailers and sneak peeks
Oh I get it it is sarcasm
@@ennuied nope, not sarcasm.
As the other commenter said, it's because it is a teaser. You want to exclusively watch teasers to avoid having the plot spoiled.
It's 1979 again. Parker throw me the flamethrower
Give me about 20 minutes, I'll do it.
They need to be refueled but they’re fully functional
Get out of the way!
At last, a REAL teaser trailer! I HATE the parasitic click-bait channels that have A.I.- generated art for the icons, and then cobbled-together footage from various Alien movies as the "content".
I wish there was a way to block those channels and results! Downvoting is still interacting, and they still show up
Always report those for terrorism ;)
i always double check the channel name before clicking. don't want to give them any free clicks
Honestly TH-cam gotta Terminate those Ai channels.
The only thing worse than those trailers are the people in the comments telling them they did a great job and to keep it up. I really wish I could slap all of them.
Can I just say this is a perfect example of how you do a teaser trailer. For an Alien film You’re not getting a synopsis of the entire film. But it perfectly gives you the setting, and vibe. That’s a Teaser Trailer right there.
That is the difference between a teaser and a trailer. A "teaser trailer" does not exist, its either one or the other.
- A teaser is designed to generate initial interest and buzz around an upcoming project. It aims to "tease" the audience with a glimpse of what's to come without revealing too much detail.
- A trailer provides a more comprehensive overview of the movie, TV show, or game. It aims to attract audience by showcasing the premise, characters, and the tone of the project.
I mostly avoid trailers, but am fine with watching teasers.
I clapped when I saw the face hugger
That's all teasers. A teaser is just that. It's not a full trailer. Those will come out later, show more, and be longer.
@@Typecast-LWell, no. A teaser is a type of trailer, so it’s perfectly reasonable to call it a teaser trailer. It literally is a teaser version of a trailer, after all.
No teasers give a whole synopsis of the film, they wouldnt be a teaser if they did.
I don’t need a full trailer. This teaser trailer is good enough for me.
Alvarez is such a talented director. We are being spoiled with this. I'm so stoked for his rendition of this.
This could be his big moment this movie could get a 8.3 on IMDb
Ridley is getting old make something else
He was a REALLY good choice to direct this. Dude knows how to create genuine tension and doesn’t rely on jumpscares, but goes all in with the gore too. The horror take on Alien is my preferred version over the action-centric one that started in Aliens.

That’s why I’m keeping my expectations low and see what the results are. Because we haven’t had a good Alien movie since Aliens (1986)

For those of us who were there in 1979 (and 1986) it's very very hard to sell us on anything better than those films. I wish this one success.

@@Deceniumit’s a teaser trailer. All it’s supposed to do is show the mood and vibe of the movie. Which it did.

This is supposed to be between those movies, so... we will see!
Did U Shed a tear? Lol
The screams you hear without seeing anything.....that is terrifying. That was a good teaser. That's how you do it.
LOLOLOL.....they have been doing that ever since the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Re-boot. Either way....I'm sold and can't wait to see this in theaters!!!

i'm obsessed with this eerie alarm sound
This looks to have promise. Whoever cut this teaser, thumbs up. It sounds like it might be a good mix of Alien and Aliens!!!
Idky fans think there will ever be an Alien movie like Alien and Aliens. They've proven they cannot recreate it. Movie after movie and it's always crap. The horror part is always done badly or is non existent. This trailer looks to have the horror vibes but it's a 1 min teaser. I can't trust it. Plus the cast is, how do I say this nicely, typical of what Hollywood is doing lately.
Set in between the first two films.
Wrong it looks like another trash big-budget CGI trash.
The cuts and audio mixing were as generic as you can get.
A "box-ticking exercise in Diversity & Inclusion". There, I said it for you....
I actually heard that almost every scene of the Alien in this movie is made with practical effects instead of CGI so my excitement for this movie just skyrocketed.
I really hope this is true! 😃
"made with practical effects instead of CGI" is the new hype - and almost all the time, lie.
Duuuddeee!!!
Exactly. All those facehuggers we saw swarming the hall? Each one of them remote-controlled with a camera. Totally believable.
Is that true? If yes this will be highly impressive.
Trailer editing is peak here. I love the lighting especially.
It's been 38 years since the last two really good Alien movies
Which one? Alien versus Predator?
Last 2 were meh
I got faith in Fede Alvarez when it comes to that claustrophobic, no one can hear you scream, being hunted kind of terror, which made Alien an all time classic. Let's rock!

Couldn’t agree more with a lot of folks. THIS IS A TEASER. It isn’t 3 minutes long and giving away thee entire movie. In just one minute it fully has our attention.
Did you hear any dialog? I think we can garner what type of pitiful all-action driven film this will be.
Where did you garner from the people crying, screaming, and sounding like they're in a panic that this will be an action movie? Did you not see who's directing it? Lmfao.@@Riggy2201

@@BacaraThat’s probably the disgusting scene Isabela Merced hinted at in an interview.
@@BacaraUp to now we only see practical effect animatronics for facehuggers with just a little snorkel thing, the idea that they could reach THAT FAR into a human freshly terrifies me.
Here's an idea for an Alien film:
The setting is in a decaying orphanage that contains the last remnants of humanity. All other humans have been wiped out by the Xenomorph horde. This orphanage is in a ghost town on a desolate planet. The corridors are littered with the mummified remains of the children who didn't survive. Only a small group of children still clings to life in the rotting building, too afraid to venture outside. That is until a lone man stumbles into the building, seeking shelter. The children find his body later, with a gaping hole in his stomach. They soon become aware of something haunting the dark spaces of the orphanage. . .
When I heard that this movie was set between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), my immediate reaction was that this might be following the video game 'Alien- Isolation' and the story of Amanda Ripley.
So refreshing to not have a mini-trailer before the trailer.
Its because it's a short trailer. Longer trailers have those because it takes a few seconds for videos to render into HD and that's used so that when the trailer really starts it's already rendered.
ah that's interesting! I'd never thought of that. On that level it makes sense, but I still think they do more damage to the viewing experience overall than a potential few seconds of lower-quality video at the start.@@scabab90
@@scabab90 That's bullshit, they shove the trailers highlights in those 10 second trailers before the trailer to get the viewers attention so they watch the whole thing. Apparently a lot of us have short attention spans so if we aren't intrigued within those first 10 seconds we click onto the next video.
@@topknot01 Google it.

If you mean those repeated siren-like screams, I think they're actually a reference to the trailer of the 1979 movie! You can hear the same ones throughout (and in a deleted scene from the same movie)!
This looks really good. Especially seeing that army of facehuggers. Definitely one of my top movies of the year.
I love it the face huggers look like a huge threat.
I remember Alien Isolation had a certain teaser with a medical lab on ship or station that was lockdown and infested with facehuggers smashing through the glass, that was horrifying and this looked identical in idea.

@@SPN16 I really hope they've adopted some other elements from the Alien Isolation game - that game was genuinely terrifying imo!
It would be fire if all the face huggers in the end become full aliens and surround the main character in an alien isolation game feel. The aliens should devour the main character to show how brutal aliens can be and to scare the audience.
which also hopefully entails more than one xeno, which is what early reports were suggesting
I can’t believe that it took them 45 years to even try going back to the original aesthetic.

It's been 27 years since we got a DECENT Alien movie. Please BE GOOD!!
FINALLY...but I miss Shaw
This is giving me alien isolation vibes seeing all those face huggers
Man I hate those things
You talking about that boring video game that puts people to sleep? That was boring.
@@larryb4598you have it confused with CoD. Isolation was fantastic.
Alien, isolation was not boring it was great horror Game with the alien AI being completely unpredictable

Love, how they used the classic Alien trailer’s music in here 👌
They did the same with some Prometheus trailers didn't they?
@@lapineee Yes.
Same music like Prometheus trailer
@@lapineee Yup and like I said in another response, I was stoked for Prometheus, great trailer, Ridley was back, it's gotta be great right? 🙄 I'm cautiously optimistic for Romulus. 🤞
it feels like the first movie but with a better experience of sound, cinematic, and the tense
The textural feel and grittiness is missing with these fast zooming CGI face huggers.
0:47 Pulse Rifles are back! LET'S ROCK!
not every gun is a pulse rifle bro
Probably an early version of it looks chunkier
Could be an older model or maybe it’s another flame thrower(sarcasm)

Cool
I love how they used the creepy siren sound effect again for this movie trailer, really adds to dread in the atmosphere.
Looks promising, seems like they're going back to the basics.
I noticed that too! I took it as a sign to fans of the original that they’re going back to that vibe.
they did that in the Prometheus trailers too....I hope this is better.
@@monrominee oh god, they did didn’t they… I really hope this film isn’t a let down. The trailer looks promising though.
it really does. I too hope it's great. Fr all the good faith Prometheus put forward, both that AND Covenant were embarassing.@@alexwild1435
We said the same about Alien Covenant...
This really feels like they want to go back to the OG feeling of being a true horror. I hope it's good.
They missed out on the biggest opportunity to use the "run" soundbite in memes. I know someone may say it won't be a good fit due to the horror vibes, but that sound bite can absolutely be turned into a horror theme. If the beats that follow it are slowed down it could definitely match the pace of horror movies
Huge throwbacks to the original. Even the high pitched musical notes are the same as the original trailers back in 79. Very nostalgic.
They did that with Prometheus as well, look how that went. Hope its good but lets be real, it'll be a board room checklist of fan service.
Fingers crossed this movie isn't filled with black women and transgenders.
I’m apparently the only fan of “Prometheus”. I didn’t see that one that came after because I heard it was lame.
The 4th one was pretty lacking in my eyes.
Paid shill
A facehugger outbreak is something I've never seen in an alien movie
It was called Aliens dude.
@@freakystyley4000 lmaoo we never see multiple facehuggers at once kiddo
@freakystyley4000 to be fair...we pretty much see the aftermath of a facehugger outbreak in Aliens
Are you talking about when Ripley went back to LV-426 with the marines to confront the infestation? I was suspecting a narrative to cover that gap, not a bad idea.@@scorpio2724
@@scorpio2724that’s a version of those.
“ well yes but no but technically yes but metaphorically no” type deals yes we seen a facehugger outbreak but only the aftermath of said thing which honestly imma be completely honest that scene caught my whole attention I had to rewatch the trailer because I was stunned that there was more than just on or two of the little basterds
Waiting for this movie , I love alien 🤩🤩🤩🤩
0:48 Ellen Ripley vibes! 💪🏼
That unholy screaming at the start is the radio transmission from the original movie.
