- Here is the official LEGO recommended connection method for the four main Hogwarts sets released to date: the Great Hall, Whomping Willow, Clocktower, and Astronomy Tower! I've also added the Room of Requirement and suggested an alternate connection method that fits better on my shelf, but there's endless possibilities when it comes to rearranging these sets!

I’m glad LEGO is still making these Hogwarts expansion sets because it provides a lot more ways to make your own Hogwarts castle by attaching different sections. Also, if you would like the Room of Requirement to look as if it was at the interior of Hogwarts and place it behind the Astronomy tower, I suggest you place either the Clocktower, the archway and the tower from the Whomping Willow set, or the greenhouse on the left side of the Astronomy tower because those 4 sections don’t have enough depth to interrupt the connection of the Room of Requirement to the back of the Astronomy tower. I know the layout of Hogwarts as seen in the instruction manual might not allow you to place the Room of Requirement behind the Astronomy tower, but you can still do it if you rearrange sections of the different minifigure-scaled Hogwarts sets. I’m just letting you know.

I bought the Great Hall last week just to get the Prisoner of Azkaban book, but now I want all the sets 🤦 great video mate, exactly what I was looking for.
Looks great! You shouldn’t worry too much about the accuracy because Hogwarts seems to change with every movie, and there’s not enough mentions of the layout of Hogwarts in the books :P

I’ve got all the sets but the room of requirement and they all fit on my shelf perfectly as I did it the second way

I bought 3 "Room of requirement" sets, to make a larger room.
It looks best in the few first seconds of the video. I like the compact not connected look better than the long stringy wall like construction. I have mine in a compact square, and with the quidditch field and hagrids hut right in front.
I love the way you used the room of requirements, can you make an updated version with the Chamber of Secrets, the fluffy encounter, the polyjuice potion mistake and the hospital wing? I want to get these sets but I feel like it is really hard to connect all of them (I know I can place rooms above each other in the newer ones)

Looks so cool! I've just gotten into the HP lego and I'm pretty sad I missed this collection as it looks way better than the new one. Will try to get some of these but they'll be more expensive now..
You might be able to find the Great Hall and Whomping Willow before they leave this month! I'm starting to collect duplicate sealed copies of these because I know they'll be pretty popular in the future.
That's one of my next projects coming up....finishing all those sets and connect them 😬😬😬

I'm just getting into Lego again, planning to just collect Harry Potter with a couple of others, like the Friends TV series sets, but discovered Lego retirement lists are a thing and some sets like that Hogwarts Great Hall set are on them, I'm not a fan of the new Great Hall with the green roof, so I think I'd better get a move on starting my collection! Or should I not have a mini panic just yet? Lol
I would go ahead and get the 2018 Great Hall now. It was on the retirement list last year as well, but just the fact that it's a normal retail set that's been on the market for 3 years is enough reason to buy it. That's basically unheard of, so I'd start buying the older Hogwarts sets right now if you don't want to miss out!

I actually made this one as well at first, but it was ceazy long for my shelf it literally took the whole longest shelf in the room, so I watched some vids, and found a few more combinations, so I made my self own that fits in my shelf and now from like 130cm long thing I got 85 cm long thing so yepp 😂✋🏻👌🏻

Have you tried adding the poly juice mistake to the prefex bathroom on the clock tower? That would be pretty sweet, I haven’t built them yet so not sure, or the grand staircase in the 2018 sets?
I haven't done many combinations with the new modular sets and this style!

Hi, everyone.. I have those set´s, but I can't coneccted like this, because, have a accesories like a led illumination on each set, and it´s difficult conect betwen they, for the wires... I would like see options... thanks...

For your shelf display, what are the total dimensions? How wide is the whole set up, and how deep is the shelf? I know it extends past the shelf a little bit, but I'm about to hang some display shelves and I'd love for it all to fit

I bought the Great Hall for my grandson last year and wanted to get another set for Christmas. Do you recommend the Clock Tower or Astronomy Tower next. Which is the better set?
I like the Clock Tower better and it'll retire first, so I'd go for that one!
I have 3 of those-the clock tower-the great hall and whomping willow but i need the other 2. Then my castle will be complete.I basically want all the 2020 sets.And all the 2019 sets .AND all the 2018 sets.I just need them all! Just stand him on the chair! He can't sit so he's a bit higher than everyone else but it still looks good.
I like watching the HP movies and saying how long each set took. So I said “The great hall took 2 hours and 29 minutes to finish.”

Do you think it’s better to get all these sets and build hog warts or get the UCS $400 set?
It depends on which one you like better. Arguably buying the four separate sets is better, since you get many more minifigures and a lot more to do since you can actually play with them. With the UCS set though, you get an architecturally-accurate display model. I love the UCS set, but I'd recommend getting these four first since the UCS one will still be around for a while.
GoldenNinja3000 thanks for the video I think you convinced me to get the individual sets. They look awesome and I think you get more bang for you buck!

Does the USC set take up less room than the combined ones?
Yes! The connected sets are sprawling and a lot wider than the UCS set.

The wife and I just recently got into Lego and oh my goodness that's a rollercoaster. $2k in purchases in our initial month before I realized impulse buying is real.
