  • The Huawei Watch Buds is a smartwatch that wants to make sure you always have some truly wireless earbuds nearby by hiding some inside of the watch case.
After launching in China in 2022, Huawei is bringing its latest attempt to get innovative with smartwatch design to the UK and Europe. Pre-orders are live now with the Watch Buds set to go on sale on March 1st brandishing a £449 (499 Euros) price tag.
Tester Mike has been getting to know how Huawei is hiding away those buds and whether having a smartwatch with built-in earbuds could make a great running companion.

Well it's an innovative design. Gotta give Huawei props for that! With the watch & earbud market being stagnant w/ Google's new Pixel Watch & Wear OS being a big dud and Apple's year-over-year releases being more same/same, I think anything NEW design-wise in this segment is a net positive for consumers.

It's not though. Earbud smart watches have existed for years. This is just hopefully higher quality

Extremely interesting concept. I'm not ready yet to replace my samsung watch and buds. But if I did have to, I would seriously consider something like this.

    Hello,
Can I add music to the watch and play without the phone being connected?

I find it really handy and hassle-free to have a watch and buds together. But, can you please confirm if the first version of this design is really good, not faulty in terms of operation, how buds fit in ears, comfortable to wear for more than 45 minutes, etc?

It has been used for two months now. I think it is very convenient. I don't feel uncomfortable with my ears when I wear it for six hours every day

Lies, I'm SICK of hooking my buds case to my belt. I'm DEFINITELY getting it on that point alone.

If you actually owned a watch and earbuds you WOULD NOT be saying that...

@@TheHutchRuns you don't know me or any other people, how do you know that carrying earbuds around isn't a problem for others?

@@TheHutchRuns There actually is a problem with general buds. It just takes up pocket or other space, and easy to lose them / the case for them. This adds convivence, where you can just grab one way quicker than you could from grabbing a bud out of your pocket. Also, personally for me (I use airpods right now) they are always falling out of my pocket when I sit on the couch. Because of this, I end up losing the case often. Now I also use a smart watch... You see where I'm getting at? Convenience is the main thing, sure, but you gotta admit it does have some decent use cases when you really think about it. For the price, I cant justify it while I already have both airpods and a smart watch, but I know what I'll be getting next should they break.
