Hi Gert, thank you for this Review! Last Fall I bought a Huawei Watch Gt3 Pro because of its Freediving function, but now I want to upgrade to the Ultimate. As i´d like to wear it as a daily watch i dislike the limited text answer options via presets. What batterylife did you experience, using it for 2 weeks? Is this watch more compatible with third parties apps like spotify? Best Regards!
@@irishwristwatch7544 hi, I've only tested freediving related functions so far. About battery life: it obviously depends on what functions you have running in the background, and how you configure your display. From my experience so far I can tell this watch has a robust battery life (like mentionned in the video). Huawei says 14 days.
I absolutely love your content, you got me into free diving and breath holding and my record is 2 minutes and 30 seconds just because you helped us and showed us what our body can do. Thank you!
Sir gert I am from Huawei and I was at freedive superhome last fri-sat we had a big standee at the back during the Asian Freediving Cup orientation soooo unfortunate that I just came across your channel today I might have taken a photo with you 🥺 but thank you sir! divers like you inspired me to take freediving lesson i have already booked a class on August! Hope to see you in Panglao next time sir 🤗
Warning: There is no warranty if you move to another continent. My first dive in the Philippines was 15 meters, and my watch died. The watch was less than 6 months old. Huawei Philippines was not providing me any other solution. Back in Spain the warranty replaced my watch, already the second time it broke doing freediving in less than 20m, it seems to be because I also do kitesurfing.
I want this watch.. been using a Huawei GT2 for a few years now and I love it - this would be an amazing upgrade. Great video, good explanation and demo of the features. I'm especially interested in the Scuba functionality as I use a large clunky dive watch for diving. This could be another reason to upgrade (if I needed one!)
thanks for the review. This is an interesting watch. Garmin watches allow you to set GPS points during a dive. This is very convenient for spearfishing. You can mark an interesting place. GPS point on the map. can I do this with this watch? make GPS marks of interesting places during spearfishing? thank you in advance.
Gps is not working underwater. Do you really can mark waypoint underwater ? What garmin watch you use? I think you mean to mark waypoint on surface of water.
Hey Gert, i have the watch gt3 pro and its great, but i wanted to ask you if you know why someone's heart rate would go up instead of down during breath holds. when i start the breath hold / pool dive my heart rate is 55-62bpm. after some time it can go as high as 90 if im pushing myself. i've noticed its exacerbated by feeling anxious, but i usually feel calm and relaxed and it still happens. any ideas on what to do? i feel like im missing out on some performance gains
"performance" in breath holding might not be the right word. It might tell me though how you look at breathholding. I think you've already given the answer. Maybe your "calm" is not so calm. That being said, HR lowers in the first part of the breath hold, but when Co2 increases near the end of a hold, and things become more difficult, HR can go up.
Your videos are awesome. I started binging them Kate,y and have been practicing breath holding! One thing I noticed though that was never mentioned was the pain the chest when holding. I try relaxing but my body feels numb when I do it for too long and don’t wanna black out. Any tips?
you will not black out. beginners abort the breathhold because of many other reasons like anxiety, or FEAR of blackout, but not the blackout itself, which is far far away. You need to learn to relax, even when there is tension in your chest due to the pressure of air of the full inhale you took. When you float in the water (static apnea) you will feel this pressure less because the water is carrying you, whereas when you are breath holding DRY your body is carrying you. You will get used to this. Do stretching to become more flexible, and lie down on your back. that might help. but most of all learn to relax. peace ✌️
Hello Gert, your video has convinced me to take the finally order the Huawei watch, really an awesome detailed video !! your words gave me confidence on this. Keep up the great work !!! Regards,
thanks.the swim workout counts laps, and a timer runs throughout the whole swim workout. you could maybe use that. Threre is no specific feature for dynamic. Allthough you could probably just use a timer with time laps
thanks! see link in description. HR and Spo2 only DRY. not in th water. there is no reliable device on the market atm that measures these things underwater.
I have Garmin descent and huawei gt3 pro. I bought Ultimate and im selling first two watches because ultimate is all i need now! I love it.. but I hope it could do some things like Samsung in future updates i hope.. (like more options for personalizing menus or adding wapp etc..)
It’s a joke, I went down to 30 meter and it stoped working. I toke it to Huawei to check it, they say it has a water damage and it’s now out of warranty, say whaaat?! lol how did the water go inside the watch if the watch was built for diving up to 100 meters??!!! Don’t buy it sucks!
gps: yes. Rest of question you better ask directly to Huawei. Maps onscreen: there is an option to download PETAL MAPS. don't know how it works or what functionality it provides.
Hello Gert, thank you for this review. But to make right decision is still needed some more information. How laud is an alarm for depth? Is it possible to feel vibration alarm through wetsuit and to display heart rate while freediving? Thank you for feedback.
hi. loud enough to hear. I didn't test vibration through wetsuit. heart rate and Spo2 only DRY. there is no reliable device on the market up until now that measures these things underwater.
@@gertleroyOn my Garmin Descent G1 is possible to meassure heart rate while diving quite well. But alarms should be lauder when divind on sled or if is on the see heavy trafic. 😅 Hope Huawei will fine tune it.
@@rudolfprinc5518 yes, it's possible to measure, but do you know it's accurate? i've asked this question to many deep freedivers who have used this function. All say the readings are unreliable. Due to many reasons like water in between sensor and skin, but also vasoconstriction. So yes you do get a number, but i might be worthless.
Hallo, thank you for the information. I would like to ask you 2 questions... First when the watch is in the diving mode, does it inform you about your cellphones notifications? Of course I am talking about being on surface and very close to your phone.. Second I want to know if it counts every dive and informs you about the total number of dives per day? Freediving only!
Hi, I need to know your opinion about this ultimate huawei diving software: it can measure the quantity of O2 and N (azot) after a recreational diving? You know the saturation in blood...? Thanks a lot.
Regrettably, I made the purchase of the watch, but it experienced water leaked after only a year of usage. In my opinion, some materials are not appropriate for diving activities.

Does it have surface recovery time? So as to prepare you for next dive? Does it have algorithm for taranava? Hemoptyosis protection? Thanks

What is the difference between notification and alert? Is it possible to set sound for several depth points, or just one?
notification is an alarm you set while not at deepest point. like I explain in the video. alert is the deepest alarm
Great review. Is it able to be used to see your heart rate while going for scrub too?

Hey how long do you hold your breath underwater on your free dives on average roughly? Just shooting for a good reasonable time.
there is no good reasonable time. what is reasonable anyway? who defines reasonable? there is only personal progress and becoming more knowledgeable.
