Not sure I'd go as far as saying any of these games flopped sure they maybe only broke even or just barely hit their marks but all of these games are beloved titles that have been kept alive by fans so flopped seems to be a tad much.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. The game destroyed Troika, but the fans have really kept it alive, restoring cut content, adding in new stuff. Oh not to mention finally earning a sequel, due out next year.

Mad Max was a great game but the final battle was near impossible. Reviewers asked devs to change the one setting to not make it random and got a point blank no. After collecting everything and doing every side quest (which was fun) was down to luck if you platinum’d the game.😡😡😡
mad max and sleeping dogs the only 2 games i'd ever pre order now even if it comes out in 10 years time, which goes against everything i stand for in gaming hahahah
@TyleeBrowne let's be real though. If a game is primarily story based, you gotta expect gameplay to be more simple. Although calling it ass is a bit much. It had good bit of complexity between enemies and chaining team skills for different scenarios.

Sunset Overdrive sold almost 1.9 million copies. The net earnings were a few hundred bucks in the end but they got their money back and 1.9 million copies sold isn't exactly a flop.

I had an absolute blast of a time with Guardians. Loved every minute. There was just one scene where the player piloted the ship landing on a planet that was a bit frustrating playing on a PC with mouse and keyboard but the rest was pure mayhem

Splinter did in fact have a new game announced. For VR. Unfortunately, while Ubi DID release their Assassin's Creed VR game they cancelled the Splinter Cell VR project.
Fisher should of retired after Conviction, Blacklist was just soo unnecessary for Fisher to be in it as a field agent and they had the audacity to remove Micheal Ironside from the role, that was the deal-breaker for me.
It sadly 100% flopped. The reviews at the time made it a "mid" game. It sold so poorly that there was a DLC ready to go that was canned robbing us of even more content for the game. It got it's appreciation down the road with many content creators talking about how it was a great, underappreciated game like this video here. But it was 100% a massive flop where it matters to publishers. (the wallet)
I’ve seen comments on videos that said it was to repetitive and boring. I still want to try the game. But it’s 50/50 in comments on other videos on if it’s really great or just mid.

suprised to see splinter cell black list got mentioned here... I dont know it was not performing well financially. I had so much fun playing it back then.
Titanfall 2 was amazing. The feel of the robots and the ability to take down a mech as a human was awesome. I really don’t understand why someone didn’t reboot the series or outright steal the idea….like they do with other titles lol
Marlow Briggs, Conan (the beat em up god of war style...was great), Ninja Blade, split second, metal gear rising, Asura s wrath, Dmc (so underrated) , quantum break, ryse son of rome, Ys 8 lacrimosa of dana (it s a masterpiece), monster boy in cursed kingdom...the last ones do not flopped but deserved much more...
A lot of these games flopped due to no/limited marketing, sometimes an excellent game comes out and you barely hear about it. I usually only get to know some of these gems if my favorite TH-cam play tester gets his hands on them.

I was thinking of Evil West. It wasn't out of this world amazing but I was sad to see I was in the top 1% for just finishing the story.
I bought alien isolation on PC and the Nintendo switch. Loved it
Guardians of The Galaxy is a great game. Way better than you’d think it would be.
Blacklist was effin awesome
I'm currently playing mad max for the second time. Didn't finish it first time around but i'm going to try and finish it this time. Also Alien isolation is my favourite horror game of all time. I actually bought 5
( yes FIVE) physical disks plus the digital version and all the DLC to support the developers.
That's dedication
Man I absolutely loved enslaved when I was younger, a remaster or a sequel would be great, howver unlikely it may be.
I always remember psi-ops for ps2 that game was right good it even ended on a cliffhanger an was then never seen again
2:34 oh Mad Max is glorious!!!
Enslaved is one of the best games I have played. The voice acting and cut scenes are amazing. The games plays good.
Honestly I’m confused what Sony did with motorstorm and infamous like they just killed off their most unique and yet successful games fans loved
Splinter cell Blacklist was a masterpiece
Yes it was but too bad the online play was filled with cheaters in every game. Double agent online was my favorite by far. Freaking awesome.
I would argue that Marvel midnight suns was recognized way after release. I absolutely love that game and now i dont think we will ever see a sequel.
Splinter did in fact have a new game announced. For VR. Unfortunately, while Ubi DID release their Assassin's Creed VR game they cancelled the Splinter Cell VR project.
Even though we had an era of weird games back then they had creativity. What they lack now is
Fisher should of retired after Conviction, Blacklist was just soo unnecessary for Fisher to be in it as a field agent and they had the audacity to remove Micheal Ironside from the role, that was the deal-breaker for me.
Gog game is fantastic, personally it’s better than even the movies 10:21
Crazy that okami has a sequel coming all these years later. Loved mad max.
They announced alien isolation 2 months ago, how long ago was this video created?
Game released 10 years ago
@ the video not the game
Mad Max flopped?! Most people I know who play video games absolutely loved it, including me. I think it's an absolute masterpiece!
Good times! We strongly need all the badass characters back in videogames!
Ws could probably argue Cyberpunk here as well. It's absolutely fantastic now! But we all remember when it came out.
And like half this list are some favorites for me. Really wanted that Enslaved franchise.
okami and alien isolation was so good
Alien Isolation was amazing, shame we never got that sequel
A sequel was announced a few weeks ago. You can find videos about it on YT.
I really enjoyed DmC: Devil May Cry. Way more then Devil May Cry 5
suprised to see splinter cell black list got mentioned here... I dont know it was not performing well financially. I had so much fun playing it back then.
I played Sunset Overdrive and Mad Max and both of these games are awesome.
Titanfall 2 was amazing. The feel of the robots and the ability to take down a mech as a human was awesome. I really don’t understand why someone didn’t reboot the series or outright steal the idea….like they do with other titles lol
Enslaved Odyssey To The West deserved a lot more attention.
Motorstorm needs a remake again. Hours of fun arcade racing
Alien Isolation is an INSANE experience. Especially at higher difficulty
Man If sunset overdrive didn't have that borderlands humor it would've been great because everything else about it is so good
i really want to try Alien Isolation. looks grand. i love the Xenomorph
A lot of these games flopped due to no/limited marketing, sometimes an excellent game comes out and you barely hear about it. I usually only get to know some of these gems if my favorite TH-cam play tester gets his hands on them.
I was surprised to see Enslaved on the list as I thought the game was very average. What games I would add is Prince of Persia: lost crown and Xdefiant to the list from 2024. Pop:lc was excellent and one of the best games I played all year.
Enslaved was mechanically so good and the characters and story was great.
