- Cruising is very expensive, right?! Yes! But, there are a few things you can do to reduce the price dramatically. An 11 day cruise would usually be very expensive but I found a great deal and booked last minute! Today, we also explore Isafjordur, Iceland! Enjoy!

So, either before the cruise or I think you can ask your room attendant after boarding, ask them for a mattress topper. Makes that crease in the middle of the bed so much more comfortable. I just called NCL and it was taken care of in less than 5 minutes and when I arrived to my room, the topper was already there.

What a view from a rock! Beautiful. 😁 Great deal. You can't beat those last-minute deals. My 15-night NCL cruise of Central America next year was listed at $900. Amazing! It will be my first solo cruise, so I did get the internet package because I was afraid I might get bored on sea days. That, added with port fees and insurance (being a year out, I figured it was wise) and a couple of excursions, all of a sudden, I'm at $2,400. Ouch! I try to stay under $150/day. This one is at $160, but for all the experiences, I think it will be worth it.
I got a very very good last minute deal, Matthew! Very last minute! Wow, that’s still an amazing deal for 15 days! When you think about what’s included in that price, it’s still an unbelievable deal! Many places around the world, you’d pay $160 just for a nice hotel so add in everything else and it’s a great deal. I think wifi on a longer cruise is a good move, I was looking at a transatlantic cruise that has 8/9 sea days out of a 12 day cruise so I think getting the wifi would be a good idea. Either the wifi package or the drinks package to cure the boredom 😂 add in the excursions too and I think you got a great deal!

@@FollowmedowntheNumberWholeYou can found them with NCL directly. Just check it out online more often. I booked there last December for my hubby 15 days South-Pacific for 1200$ incl drink package and some more perks incl - last minute booked 5 days before sail date.🤩

Absolutely love taking a cold cruise in the middle of summer to escape the Texas heat 🔥🔥🔥 Cruised Alaska in June, I don’t think I’ll ever do a Caribbean vacation again 😅 ok well maybe in December 🤔💭

You are so lucky to be so close to a port that goes to so many places... we will be staying in Southampton again in October before our cruise down to Spain and ending in Rome...Did you ever go to the musuem in Southampton with the Titanic Exhibit? What a great price for a last minute deal!!

Really nice what you do here, I like your style of video, and the way you present it all, and put the footage together, This has been a great one, and enjoyed the places you have been. I am a solo traveller usually by rail, so this has kind of lit a couple of lightbulbs for me, and it has let me see that there is life for solo travellers on cruiseships.

Ooo this is another lovely place! Pity it was rather cloudy but the views are amazing and it’s so tranquil. Based on your videos, I still prefer that little port in Norway though. Being an introvert who has lived in big, busy and noisy cities all my life (due to work), I think these small serene places with gorgeous views are like heaven!

I totally agree with you that small places like this are just worlds away from bustling crowded cities. I also agree that this place isn’t as beautiful as Geiranger, Norway but definitely a different perspective! HAHA the cat didn’t answer when I asked him if he wants to go hiking so I’m guessing he only speaks Icelandic! I agree about the churches, this one was just a basic building, nothing like the traditional ones you see. Delicious food as always! Do you use a certain website for finding cruise deals?? or did you book through Norwegian cruise line direct?? Im most definitely going to book a cold weather cruise sometime next year. Ive sailed the world through my job as a merchant seaman but im now retired and missing the sea, so cruising is just the ticket for me now and the perfect way to spend my retirement.

Hi Ben! Love watching your videos! I have a question regarding NCL and the solo rooms. How do you book yours? I go on the website all the time and choose the solo/single traveler but every cruise I find, even the ones over a year away, show "not available". Am I doing something wrong or missing something? For the last year, I have not been able to find any available solo cabin for any NCL cruise. Not sure if you can only do it over the phone? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Jason! You’re not doing anything wrong, solo cabins are just very difficult to find because there’s not many of them! Most NCL ships have maybe 50-60 solo cabins so they sell out fast. Maybe you are doing something wrong because I just checked the website and there are studio cabins available for upcoming cruises. Make sure you change the filter to 1 person when you search. Good luck! 😊
check at the top of the page - it usually defaults to 2 persons - and if 2 persons are selected, the solo cabins will show as "unavailable" You have to manually change it to 1 person.

How do you get solo rooms? Every time I check, all sold out!
A lot of luck, Joan 😊 they sell fast. This wasn’t a solo cabin, I just got a great last minute deal.
@joanaston You have to set filter to 1 guest. Otherwise system is only searching for 2 guests and all solo cabins are automatically shown as "sold out", as they are not available for two.
Hi Ben, where did you find this cruisedeal? I can not find any affordable solocruise (I am from the netherlands) as soon as I change 2 persons into 1 the price doubles.

I found this deal on the NCL website, Juul. It was very last minute so that’s why the price is so low.

Since January 2024, you can book solo inside or solo balcony cabins with access to the Studio Lounge on most NCL ships.
You just have to make sure you change the number of passengers to 1 then select inside or balcony then scroll down to see the solo cabins.
That’s if they’re still available, Jonathan! Those all out fast, probably faster than the studio cabins!
