For a bit of context, different versions of the song play depending on what's happening onscreen. The chill groovy version plays in casual rooms, when everything is dead, the bass walks and when you get to the boss, it goes into overdrive. Love the work they did for this game, musically and otherwise
There's an even more stripped down version of each track that plays after room clear, that isn't on these tracks. Also love how each track resolves after a boss.
As someone (EDIT: @stressed_dm) mentioned under a previous reaction of yours to Hades, Darren Korb once gave genre descriptions for each of his soundtracks and described Hades as "Mediterranean Prog-Rock Halloween music", which sounds pretty apt.
@@daistellae Bastion: "Acoustic Frontier Trip-Hop" Transistor: "Old-World Electronic Post-Rock" Pyre: ????? (Most diverse soundtrack without a core genre, can't find a Korb-defined name for it. Maybe Western Occult Bardcore?) Hades: "Mediterranean Prog-Rock Halloween" Hades 2: (We'll have to find out)
As other people have mentioned, the soundtrack is indeed dynamic. But it's not just a simple case of "crossfade back and forth between the chill version and the electric version depending on whether you're in combat." It's doing something more complicated than that. You'll just have to see how it works when you play it.
Ayyy hades playthough plus a reaction for this thing nice If you're a hack and slash guy, you'll feel right at home, no worries. GL on the playthrough, it's challenging but not impossible, you can do it 😄
Hades. My favorite game of 2019 (came out in December of 2018 but hey). Also my favorite Roguelike game. Dripping with style and fun from top to bottom. You'll love it.
Hades is an excellent game with a lot of content even after you have seen the credits. It also technically has two proper endings, so this playthrough might take a lot longer than you think. Personally I have almost 320 hours on Steam after 2 full playthroughs and getting all achievements and still have plenty of stuff I could do, but don't let that intimidate you.
The soundtrack is basically what finally convinced me to play the game too. I didn't like the idea of a roguelike. It's not really the style of game I normally go for. But I kept hearing people talking about it and Supergiant had the whole soundtrack on their channel and...I ended up listening to it constantly over the course of a couple of days so I was like, "FINE I GUESS I'LL PLAY IT HMPH," and I don't regret it after a couple hundred hours of playtime. :)
Finally more hades ! Just do the whole ost already cause it's too good???? You will most likely love playing this game ! Its quite challenging at first but thats the point, it keeps getting better and more doable the more you play !

the soundtrack IS dynamic. the uptempo guitar bit you hear while you're fighting, and the "relaxed" section is for in between battles

Alright fine. It's been sitting in my library since it came out, and as many hours as I've put into Bastion and Transistor, fine. I'll play Hades now.
Yeesss!
Have the best time of your life!
You won't be disappointed.
Hades is genuinely dangerously good. Don't fall in too deep.

Been a while since I've played this game. Might have to crack it out in preparation for its sequel.
