Everything about Hades is absolutely amazing. Been gaming for 35 years, and it instantly became one of my top 5 games ever. I genuinely believe you are going to love it.
People in comments should stop spoiling the game. He already said he will play it, but he doesn't want any spoilers. jeez. everyone should be downvoting all the spoiler comments to oblivion.
@@pumpkinpartysystem Well excuse me for not nutting all over the place like a squirrel in summer about an extremely basic and straightforward plotline of a game that clearly emphasizes core gameplay loop, artstyle and music as its main focus.
@@zelg.5551 Brother you don't get to get defensive when it was you who went full on judge-mode first by saying "...who plays Hades for the plot?". You can't go around knocking how other people view things and then be all butthurt when they knock yours. If you don't play Hades appreciating the story and how it's told like others do then that's fine. Everyone enjoys different aspects of what they like for different reasons. They don't need you to gatekeep their experience just as much as you don't need them to gatekeep yours. Homie goes to a rock concert and says: "that band sucks" and then goes all surprised pikachu face when he catches hands. Actions meet consequences my dude. Anyway, it takes quite some skill to make something as known as greek mythology very interesting by storytelling and needless to say, the devs of this game did an amazing job which I think the truck load of awards and praises by the playerbase should be evidence enough. It's also worth noting that a lot of the story is rather uncommon knowledge of mythology and all the nuances that come into play including the invidividual god conversations and how they progress depending on your progress. Of course, if you're not LOOKING FOR IT and just turn off your brain and play it as a surface-level roguelite you'll never ever notice these things, which again, is fine, but you don't see us initiating comments making fun of how YOU play and feel the game. So with that being said: Piss off, respectfully.
I’ve never really been a rogue like fan before, but a friend who knows how much I dig Greek mythology and certain humour styles bought me the game and it has skyrocketed to one of my top five of all time. The sheer rush from beating certain challenges is absolutely incredible and the beautiful characterisation and score that accompanies it all… you’re gonna love it.
2:36 I loved that realization. Can't wait to see if we get some gameplay reactions too in the near future. It's been a hot minute since I've played myself--perhaps I should do a new file some day. Very easy to get addicted to the game, but luckily it's also easy to pick up and play for an hour or so.
OH EXPECT ME TO BE IN VOD LAND, I LOVE HADES YO! And this SONG This is my second favourite track from the whole game, I get lost in it, it's so GOOD! Enjoy your playthrough man! And real glad ya enjoyed this song!
It was funny seeing the moment where you recognized how similar it sounded to The Unseen Ones lol, that song is actually a huge guitar solo over the double-time section of God of the Dead
Hades is one of the only games that I will specifically seek out people playing for the first time. Gotta find out when you're playing so I can pop in.
This song is fantastic all throughout, and yet the end bit of the song, that slow section, is my absolute favourite, because it just releases all tension. That's your "I won. This is my victory. Now I can breathe." And its just such a good way to end the particular fight that this song plays over. Edit: There's also another version of this song, with a couple of guest appearances! It's called "The Unseen Ones" and it's also amazing, and definitely worth a listen. Many people like to say it sounds like a Guilty Gear song.
Glad you remembered The Unseen Ones, it's very much connected to this track. Definitely pays to give it another listen after this ;) edit: Unrelated to the song, but it's awesome that you're playing Hades, it's one of my favourite games of all time. Enjoy!
By the way, The Unseen Ones, one you've reacted to before, is the third act of God of the Dead. They're separated because there is a special condition in game that must be met for The Unseen Ones to play in conjunction with The God of the Dead. I highly recommend you listen to them back to back on your own time to get the full experience. That's why they sound so similar and the Unseen Ones has a leitmotif heard in God of the Dead.
Oh wow, there's some parts of this I hadn't heard because the fight usually doesn't usually last long enough (or maybe I was too busy fighting to notice)
The two guitars are representing whats happening in the game, when this music kicks in is because you have matched your mentor for the first time. Your spent entire life being trained by him, he taught you everything he knows, and he has never acknowledge your worth . . . . . . You bring him to his knees, this is when things get serious. . . Am I his equal? No, His better!
Slight spoiler? The unseen ones is the "phase 3" theme for Hades's fight. You will not reach that on you first run. So yes you were right that you heard a motif from the unseen ones in this, but reverse it, you heard a motif from this in the unseen ones
If you’re going to include something you think to be a spoiler even a slight one just keep pressing Exeter and write so people have to press read more to see it. It’s not too difficult.

I love how Darren Krob describes it as Halloween Rock.
"Mediterranean prog-rock halloween music", to be precise! 🤣
This song is so hype while you're playing.
3:35 They DID! The songs "On the Coast" and "In the Blood" were recorded at Studio Two in London with Austin Wintory himself as the arranger.

...who plays Hades for the plot?
@@zelg.5551 Quite a few? It's a nice story
@@zelg.5551 Obviously not you otherwise you'd know why that's an absurd question.

Glad to hear you'll be trying out Hades. Just remember, every death is an opportunity to get stronger and try again. Hope you enjoy it!
I’m fighting the urge to comment about this game so hard. Don’t want to spoil anything

Literally just listened to the extended version right after the Out Of Tartarus video earlier lol. This is easily my third favorite song in the game.
i can not unhear the doom e1m1 riff in this song

Actually my favourite fight music in any game I think. It feels really good whilst playing, especially when it changes it up.
Premiering an hour long Hades video in about an hour and a half if you liked this

This one does my favorite thing in games, namely, using the main menu score as a motif in the final battle.
Good luck reaching this song in game

Jesus , that phase suppose to be a surprise for players.
