  • Good day,
    Welcome back to Thomas' Moustache,
where we review products related to moustaches.
You have certainly come to the right place for some good old fashioned first impressions. Today I will be introducing (for both you and I) the Barberism Moustache Wax by Captain Fawcett in collaboration with Sid Sottung. This is one fine specimen of a wax. I must admit, I didnt know if I would like it. How pleasant of a surprise to find it is a delight under the nose.
Click along with me and see for yourself the joys of first impressions.
I will do a proper review in the future where I will explain more about the wax.
I will do another first impression in the near future of a different wax.
    Good day to you.

Thomas, you are in my brain kind sir. (LOL) The way you described the Barberism scent is exactly my experience.
The rise in the middle creeps up and gives it that floral feel. And the galbanum and patchouli give it that earthiness/dirty vibe you mentioned.
The citrus opening notes are what got me hooked. But the musk drydown isn’t anything to scoff at either.
Great fragrance all the way through.
I especially appreciate your “complicated” description; that’s so bang on. It’s definitely multi-faceted.
But, enough of my rambling. I just wanted to let you know that you were taking the words right out of my head. (LOL)
I was thinking “this guy gets it!”

Well I am certainly glad somebody thinks my ramblings are of some value. I imagine a person who only uses more plain scents might watch my video and think I am nuts with all this scent talk, but it is real!
These are complicated scents, with ranges and registries. Interacting with different parts of the mind, especially if you are gifted with a good nose like I am.
Barberism is certainly in my top fragrances of all time, I love it.

Thanks for the scent note break down. I appreciate colognes and parfum’s and everything to do with mustache and beard grooming also. Growing out my mustache with handlebars currently but I think your mustache style is called the chevron

I'm glad you found it helpful!
I am huge into the CF lineup, mainly because they smell so good.
Triumphant I think smells the most like a 'cologne' but I think in terms of scent profile, I prefer most others. Barberism and Booze'n'Baccy are good all around scents. Debonair is gentle, and soft.

I just picked up the Eau de Parfum and the middle notes are far more pronounced and noticeable when in that form.
It seems to really show off its depth in true fragrance form compared with the balm, oil, and wax.
