- A review of the 7860. This important supplemental set was released in 1980 during the 12v Grey Era (1980-1993) as an addition to your Lego train collection. It enabled the ability to stop trains on sidings.
***To my knowledge, I am the first person to upload a sealed opening of this particular set to TH-cam, which makes this a very unique video. Hopefully you will find the unboxing of an original sealed set from 1980 as interesting as I did!

A perfect presentation! I would not dare to open my sealed boxes 😮 Respect 😃👍
I did buy both of my sealed sets for much less than their value (decoupler $120, signal $100) so I don't feel too bad about opening them. Although, I do know that there will be no more of these wonderful sets produced so I only make the universe of sealed sets smaller... I hope people enjoy and learn from my sealed unboxings! Maybe one day I'll get very very lucky and find a sealed train set for a cheap price. That would truly be a one in a lifetime experience- to open a sealed 12v trainset! Which sealed sets do you own?
@@Reker1million lego 12v rail with wire attached part number
If you're referring to the 12v curved insert rail with the preinstalled wire to connect to the transformer, the 2 variants are 2731a and 2731b.
Another excellent video. I have a bigger straight away in my layout and found that, when I run at full speed as I'm legally required 🙂to do, the train flies right through. I had to put another standard track piece in between so that the train would actually stop. My first set came without instructions so I had to figure that out for myself.
Thanks! Hah, yeah I had issues with that as well back when I got my first signals and was still figuring out how to use them effectively. 7745 has a lot of momentum at full speed... now I put at least 2 or 3 straights in between the breaker rails.
the push button part is #4707 , that's not a date code
Ahh thank you! Although, then I don't know what the date is on the newer one...
The date on the bottom I have 16 0 is that a early or later version
16 0 means the 16th week of 1980, which is near the beginning of the production period. It should be an early version.
