I used to have 12 V trains in the grey era - loved the all the accessories. This would have been the bee's knees, but it was rare and relatively expensive. Unfortunately now that I'm grown up, Lego trains are still expensive...

Hi. maybe bad question. Is it possible to put this set into an RC train circuit? Or just for 12V trains?

Not a bad question at all! I do own a few RC/PF trains so I think it can be integrated into the newer systems but it might be difficult. You can replace the 12v tracks with RC or even 9v tracks and build the ramps back up around the newer tracks, but the cable routing would need to be modified. RC track does not have cable grooves on the underside so the cables could not be put under the track like in the instructions, you would have to do it outside the baseplate. (here is a video of this:th-cam.com/video/kkdjpB-wsfw/w-d-xo.html) Also you would still need a 12v transformer to plug it in, unless you switched the 12v point motors and light bricks with 9v/PF equivalents but that would require more substantial modifications. Another simple solution would be to just make a 12v or 4.5v track and run RC trains on it. Let me know if there is more information I can help you with!

Yep you can but you do need a 12V transformer to power the electric functions.
