    When children arrive in school abused and starved, the teachers who don’t report this to authorities, need to be charged and punished

    • @ValkyrieofNOLA
      @ValkyrieofNOLA ปีที่แล้ว +24

      At least here in Louisiana, teachers are considered “mandatory reporters.” I was a Special Education teacher for a decade, and if we even suspect any form of abuse or neglect, we are required, by law, to report it to the proper authorities. If we don’t we can be held criminally and civilly responsible.

    In the 38: minute mark she mentions , they were going through the trash bins looking for something to eat. With my 2nd son, we have 3, the school had called me asking me if we had filed for the free lunch program. I replied, no-we don't qualify and I give him lunch money every day. I leave three little piles of money on the kitchen table for each of the boys EVERY morning before going to work. She tells me my son is eating from the bin they have for kids that don't want their apple etc when clearing their plates at the end of lunchtime. Come to find out, the BABYSITTER was stealing their lunch money telling the boys I didn't leave them any. She was a GRANDMA that lived around the corner! I told my kids, ALWAYS tell me when you see something fishy. I would NEVER leave you without either a packed lunch or money or EVER! Don't be afraid to snitch on adults to me! Even if it is the babysitter. Needless to say she was sent packing the same day. They were quick to snitch on them after that! Oh the tales we have of babysitters! No 2nd chances EVER! Why doesn't the system choose NOT to see signs or have a private conversation with these kids? WHY do schools SEE signs and not report ? I myself was removed from my mom and stepdad for malnutrition, neglect, but not until my father reported it because my SISTER told him our stepdad had molested her. HE COULDN'T PROVE neglect or malnutrition because he fed us and the school gave us lunch. The day she told him she told me to "show him the marks" our stepdad had left on me. They were welts from a wet car shammy. It's sad my sister, at 12, had to be our advocate and braver than our fear, and bless the lunch lady that called the front office to check on behalf of my sons welfare. My sons obviously had breakfast and dinner, but my sons lunch lady noticed "something changed" with my son and gave me a heads-up. I gave her a big hug for that and encouraged her to "be our eyes" because sometimes things DO change and children are too afraid (of authority) to speak up.

      That babysitter would've left with a black eye too because how dear she! The fact that your son was so scared he was eating out the trash rather than tell lord know how she was treating them!

      That's right! And often, children don't understand, or realize when something is not right. They accept it because they don't know any better, or don't know to question it.

    You guys are 100% correct, there is no VALID excuse for abusing children.
    My husband and I have 3 children. The fact that I had any children came as pleasant surprise to my family and friends who were aware that I'd always said I never wanted kids. I'm just not a "kid person". I never feel compelled to hold anyone's babies or offer to babysit for anyone. It's just never been my thing. However, I love my children fiercely and I believe all kids deserve to be fiercely loved by at least one person in their lives. It's heartbreaking that so many children never have that.
    Anyway, despite not being a kid person, we currently have one of my 14 yo son's best friends living with us. His friend called me one night and asked if I'd pick him up because he was walking down town in the middle of the night. Of course, I went and picked him up. I thought his mom would be worried so I texted her and she didn't respond until the next morning when she texted, "I don't give a f*ck. You can keep the little sh*t." And so, at least for now, we are.
    Honestly, he's been great to have around. He's helpful and incredibly appreciative. I've actually had to tell him that he doesn't have to thank me anymore lol.
    Most of the time, our home is hectic and messy and unorganized and it drives me nuts, but I can never seem to get it all under control... It's a struggle most moms can relate to lol. So yeah, we're pretty basic people. And because I'm not a Pinterest mom or a kid person, I'd never think to adopt kids, but my son's friend said he's really happy here and it's made me realize that it doesn't take much. He knows I love him and he knows that, despite the hectic nature of our house, he's welcome to call it home for as long as he wants and I think that's all he wanted... just to feel loved and secure. I think that's really all any kid wants and that makes it all the more heartbreaking that so many kids can't even get that.

    • @elizagrogan9454
      @elizagrogan9454 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @Yankee The Rebel I have to agree. Children who are loved are happy. They don't care about a little mess here and there. They just want to be protected and loved. You made such a generous decision in taking in your son's friend. The mother didn't give a damn about her own child, something I can't imagine. I have just 1 child but I love her to bits. I always had her friends for sleepovers and she just enjoyed that.

      @@ivonned32 Thank you. I appreciate your kind words and for sharing your story. I'm sorry you were robbed of the love you deserved, but I'm very glad that you've found it now. One thing I will say is don't let the pain of your past rob you of future joy. When hurt as a child, people either go on to repeat the cycle or they decide to stop the cycle. It's clear to me that you're someone who chose to stop the cycle and I think the pain you suffered would actually make you a wonderful parent because you'd provide all the love and stability that you didn't have. If you genuinely don't want to have kids, I totally understand and I felt the same way, but if you haven't had kids because of what you experienced, don't let that stop you. I think you'd be a wonderful parent ❤️

    Nobody else seem to notice that that this man is 72 he's a child psychologist and he is dating women much younger than him he would have been halfway through his life she was a baby . There is some psychology to be had there as well. Would you want him to be your childs Psychologist? I think everybody here was doing something they shouldn't have Been doing. But we're doing it for their own purposes and own greed it never could have ended anything but badly. Think about your actions before you do them every action counts even If you don't think it does

    Every day of her short cruel life, that precious little girl, Arabella, lived with the knowledge that she was unwanted, the feeling of being unloved & she suffered immeasurable abuse at the hands of those who were supposed to love & protect her. Further culpability rests in the hends of CPS & it's affiliates involved in this tragic case. I hope the other children abused in the home will thrive in spite of what they've witnessed & personally suffered.

Your show/vids are always SO informative and “entertaining”, and make a great resource for teaching ppl abt the myriad of criminal perpetrators & ways ppl can become victims of them. Whatever ones reasons are for watching true crime- the fact that it ABSOLUTELY helps prevent other ppl from becoming victims and also helps alert ppl to dynamics that can increase ones risk of being involved in a crime as well as the types of ppl that are criminals. I have always been confused by welfare checks leading to absolutely nothing when the person whose welfare needs to be checked lies dead on the other side of the door. If you are asking them to do a welfare check, as a police officer, that means someone is concerned enough for a persons well-being, to ask for someone to see if they’re OK. Knocking on the front door or ringing the doorbell, and then just leaving when nobody answers is absolutely ludicrous, and seems to fly in the face of the entire point for them to go to the residence to begin with. Every time I hear that people ask for welfare checks, and the cops knock on the door, and then just leave, I’m completely mystified as to why they bother to show up at all.

    The defendants can't win either way. This guy stands up, takes responsibility of his crime and ppl still talk shit. What is it we expect from killers, admission of guilt, closure for the family and an apology, which he has given to the family and the court. This guy is remorseful, unlike many killers.
    Prayers, hugs and strength to all who suffer this great loss.

    Creepy that the kid psychiatrist enjoys younger ‘women’. A real woman doesn’t need to be financially supported by anyone. And of course, you reap what you sow. . .just because someone has (or leads) religious/spiritual beliefs, absolutely doesn’t mean they aren’t the worst of the worst. Humans are capable of horrendous acts no matter their role(s) in society
