Not necessarily. I thought they said the drugs that were in her system are often found in prescription medication such as sleeping pills and allergy medicine. Maybe I misunderstood but that's what I thought they said. Fentanyl can be obtained through prescription also, but usually not unless you suffer from severe chronic pain usually associated with having cancer or some other chronic illness such as MS, RA, etc. I believe she was drugged because if she were on all of those prescription meds, drinking while taking them is more or less a death wish! I know there are people who do drink alcohol while taking pain meds/opiates, but to drink while on fentanyl and the other drugs that were found in her tox report is EXTREMELY dangerous!

@@awkwardautistic but you’re assuming everything he said is true and ignoring the inconsistencies in his statement. One of them being that he said they didn’t have sex although a used condom was found at the scene. Why lie about that? And keep in mind, according to his own statement she was sick and passed out when he carried her to bed, which, if true, means she wouldn’t have been able to consent to sex…
If he lied about the sex, he could have lied about everything else. The fact remains that we don’t know how those drugs ended up in her system. There’s no evidence she was a drug-addict, actually everything indicates the opposite: her friends and family are adamant she didn’t do drugs, she was a very healthy and sporty girl, she didn’t smoke, would go to the gym every morning, made a point of having a healthy diet… doesn’t sound like an opiate addict to me. The odds of her randomly taking one of the hardest drugs and overdosing right when she was alone with some guy without him having anything to do with it are pretty slim imo.
Also, why were the cops so protective of him? They redacted his name in the first report (it was internet sleuths who investigated and found out who he was), why? Why protect him if he’s so innocent? And why did they repeatedly refuse to investigate? Why did they ask the victim’s family to stop calling them? Why the coverup if there was nothing to cover up?
Edit: and Lauren really went outside to meet her brother Lakeem. She got a text from him where he told her to meet him outside and he told the media about meeting his sister for a short while that night. I don’t know why you thought it was a lie…

In all honesty, being an ex addict myself. If what he said actually happened, it sounds like they were hanging out, she gets a text from her plug. Goes outside and meets him, comes back inside and goes to the bathroom to bust down whatever she got (I use to go into friends bathroom for 10-15min doing my stuff). She goes to sleep & the fetty shuts down her respiratory system while sleeping. (It’s very common in overdoses). But that’s just if what he said really happened. They need to understand that not everyone’s families know when they’re using, some are very good at hiding it. Like myself, nobody in my family had a clue except my brother cause he used also. It is weird that there was a condom found when he just said she went to sleep though.

    • @dawnwallace1283

I lived with an addict & that's exactly what I believed happened. Borrowing the $40 from the guy and then the text from her "brother" was to cop the drug. As soon as she gets it she goes into the bathroom to do it and that's ultimately what killed her either on its own or because it was taken after she had been drinking and also with the other 2 meds found in her system. My brother died the same way and was found unresponsive and with blood coming out of his nose. The condom could've been from someone that had been there before her date came. How can it been determined that it was used the night of the date? It's unacceptable how the police handled this case & not to contact her family.

Unless you've been involved in that lifestyle, you have zero comprehension on what is really going on here. This case is getting a false narrative because of those who can't comprehend otherwise.
Police (wrongly) didn't investigate the case because they already knew exactly what happened. The family pushing like this is going to tarnish their daughters own name once the facts come out. They're doing it out of love, but are blind to what their baby was doing.
Lauren was a beautiful girl with aspirations. However, we can't dismiss facts just because she was young and beautiful. We also can't paint any narrative we want solely because the two were opposite races.
Sweet Lauren was an escort. Not to be mistaken with an 8 mile doped out hooker, because they are NOT the same. Jobs do not pay enough. She used her assets to support herself, college, etc. The Bumble date was a "FWB" aka paid agreement. The $40 was a few of those dollars up front. It is not uncommon to have clients give you money. This rings especially true in the dancer world.
Lauren was young. Nerves are a big factor in a business like this. It is also not uncommon for a girl to use substances and/ or alcohol to take the edge off. This does not make her an addict, it makes her a non-jaded human that isn't 100% accustomed to monetary dates.
Lauren likely told Mom & dad she held the faux "waitress / bartender" position that young girls in the business tend to tell their parents.
This wasn't murder. She unknowingly bought fake street drugs ($40) and they contained fentanyl :(
      Rest easy baby girl ♡

This Lauren case is evidence of differential treatment 😩. Most departments would have questioned this guy and scoured the scene!!!! The fact that they didn’t reach out to next of kin is irresponsible and reckless!!!! And OMG I immediately thought of Kristen Smart!!!!!!!!!! And she brings it up!!!!! It was years before they figured out who killed their daughter. This ought not be!!!!! They made assumptions about Kristen as a college student and the officers in Connecticut just figured “oh well” and very likely assumed she was a call girl or something.

The fascists and fake Republicans act self-righteous about the calls for reduced funding of bad police. What employers in their right minds want to continue to pay salaries to employees who not only fail to do the job, but also act disrespectful to management / owners? In this case, I don't blame anyone who raises the question of why we taxpayers and citizens should reward bad behaviors. So, I'm saying Bridgeport needs to keep everything on the table, INCLUDING the possibility of taking some funding away from "police" and assigning it to social work, preventative health, & education. ALSO, if you're thinking of moving to Bridgeport, Connecticut, or starting a business there, consider well, the police may not have your back. Bridgeport may not have your back... But they will have enough of the wrong kind of controlled substances to kill you, your employees, your customers.

These weak sauce excuses are crazy. How many people who have iPhone (that are locked) still had their family contacted after their death ? A majority of them. That's pretty stupid to suggest the cops couldn't get the info.
Also, why wouldn't they have taken any evidence, murder or not, the cops moved in a suspicious way and if they didn't, this conversation wouldn't even be happening. Rather than do their job, they just automatically trusted the white guy.

As the former wife of a severely mentally ill soldier.... I love how people say "Get them help". Yeah the system has laws and as a WIFE I was not legally allowed to make a freaking mental health appt for my husband!!! I begged the military, then hospitals, and the police... Yet he suffered from BPD and his manipulation skills were off the hook. He would self mutilate, drink until he nearly killed himself and yet he had to want to get help and he could not be made to take meds. The military was nice enough to other than honorably discharge him for his diagnosis but not give him help!!!
So please inform me how can any say ... It's another person's job to get that person help? You can't get anyone mental health treatment in today's society unless they actually commit a crime or fully attempt suicide and even then they only hold them so long and the mentally ill can't be "forced" to take meds or seek therapy.
Until you live through the hell of mental illness as a spouse or family member please don't say it's us who can get them help.

Disgraceful, Disrespectful, they need to be dismissed from their jobs. The man is lying, he drugged her. Did the autopsy say she has sex?? If so, he had sex with her while she was pasted out because he carried her to bed. This is the opposite of a proud police department what a disgrace. I bet you'll find more under handedness in this police department. RIP young lady 💛

The cops treated the case where this black woman spent the night with her 7or8 white friends at a sleepover and she was found dead, said it also was an accidental death, she supposedly fell from the balcony. So glad the community and family are demanding the case be reopen alone with social media.

I'm so glad this audience understands at least the basics of a death investigation. I commented on a very popular channel that covers court cases that I felt horrible for her family and hoped they got answers and someone jumps on to ask me how they would even know who her family was to notify them and "informed" me that it took a long time for a DNA test. I tried to explain that there are interconnected systems in play between medical centers that help police identify next of kin and that they knew who she was from the time they stepped on the scene and saw her versus her passport and ID.

Heidi - thank your for sharing this. Even our guests comment on what a well informed and vocal community we have here. Welcome all thoughts and theories - but don’t like meanness or ganging up on each other. I and WE ask that of each other. It’s probably turned off a lot of people who are mean, but as I say - we are not for everyone!! Welcome Heidi,

So even if 100% of the evidence says it is accidental OD you won't believe it? Holy Hell people don't even care about facts anymore. They had way to contact her family as her phone was locked. Even her land lord had no family contact info and he had to leave a note on her door.

@@darthmcgee2216 they didn't need her phone to get her family information, if boll collectors can find your number looking for a relative, the police department could've found her family. As far as drug use, sample of her hair would prove long term use. They stoll fuked up the crime scene and the lack of interest from those keystone cops was race related, black young lady, white man, they didn't care!

A BEAUTIFUL woman who was loved by many and to see how her case was handled by the authorities is absolutely disgusting!!! But there was also another murder that happened not far from Lauren’s and was almost IDENTICAL!!!! Brenda’s case is being handled just like Lauren’s!!! But there’s not a lot of coverage for Brenda’s case. There needs to be a HUGE look into that police department!!!

Many would say that attempting murder in any way removes you from the sane department. There was an incident in the summer of 2019, on a bike / jogging trail in McHenry County, Illinois, in which a man assaulted two women with a hammer. The women defended their selves. One needed to be admitted and in hospital overnight for injuries.
