So this is why Winnie the Pooh loves his honey so much? This explains why he sees Heffalumps. 'The Heffalump ate my honey. Well actually, I did, but it made me do it."
Everyone’s mad it’s re-uploaded, but some people (myself included) haven’t seen it and not apparently it’s newly closed captioned, which is perfect for me and I’m sure some others.
Dunno if he spoke their native language. I think he maybe spoke urdu or hindi and they're able to speak that too. It sounded more like a turkic language to me. Interestingly, the same mad honey is also harvested in Turkey!
6:56 The Elder's translation, even is missed, is understood. The tightening of the vessels, the energy of the chords within your body, thrumming with the relaxed beat of your heart...our guy's summary at the end seems a very astute take on the mushroom effect meeting the joint effect. What a wonderful experience.
not even 5 mins in and I get a super wholesome vibe. Let's see how it develops. Reporter has a very likeable approach too. after 23 mins: this was so wonderfully powerful, funny, interesting and an all around amazing watch
They are honestly SO much more civilized than us here in Canada/America. Look @ the flow of the team work. I mean they just whipped up a BAMBOO ladder like that. Mad respect for these people man 😩!!
Imagine the video intern that gets hired at VICE/Munchies thinking they're gonna be recording delicious food, only to be told "Okay! So today you're going to Nepal and you're gonna document people tripping balls on honey." Truthfully, we want to be those video interns.

Loved all these documentaries when they first came out. Is Vice hurting for funds? Because a LOT of content has been recycled over the last 3 years. Bring back the shows we love!!! Where is Bong Apetite? Hamilton's Pharmacopoeia, etc????
This was shot like 10-15 years ago and published on vice 4 years ago. The quality of mad honey is not the same nowadays, some people get vomited but only few get high. Due to climate change the number of rhododendron flower plant is decreasing day by day and this climate change has also hit Himalayas and Nepal so much :( Kathmandu is now one of the most polluted city in world!!
My buddy from Nepal says that the honey in the mountains is 🔥 gets you high as shit! He says he misses going on mountain adventures like this with his friends and relatives but says he does not miss the living conditions at all. He has such an interesting Nepalese name too.
If anyone sees this comment I would like to know how are you guys film the interview portion? I’m asking for my own personal work… When people don’t speak the same language, what is the sequence for filming and translating?
Can you imagine just trippin nuts in the mountains surrounded by bees and just looking around like "...where the fuck am i right now what is even happening" lolol so fucking crazy.
These guys climb a mountain and hang from a makeshift ass ladder, while getting stung by giant bees, just for the "health benefits" of honey... yeahhhh okay! That stuff must get you super high!
still one of my fav documentaries from vice, the way durga lights up when he says that he'll come back to visit is priceless
I've seen like 4 different variants of this documentary on Vice 😂
