- A complete collection of nearly every Hot Wheels car produced in 1984 by Mattel, including vintage Real Riders, Ultra Hots, Action Command, Workhorses, Classics, exclusives, promotional vehicles, and bonus international collectibles. Experience the Hot Wheels Room, museum, and all the rare, expensive castings I have collected over the years in stunning HD quality. Enjoy!
Today's quick bite doesn't compare to the good humor version in this video. I love your videos, I'm a bit older than you and remember seeing so many of these castings way back, it's a real nostalgia trip. Thanks from New Brunswick Canada
I'm not a collector at all but going by 30years of photographic memory, I found a match to one of the cars I remember playing with as a child. The first Chromed Sol Aire variant at 3:59. All I could go by is that it was rear engined, the back lifted up, the style of wheel, and the chrome shiny look. Also all I knew was that it was between 83 and 87. I found your collection on TH-cam showing complete collections of Hot Wheels year by year in the '80s. And I found it. Right now it's in a gray plastic tool box in my parents' attic where we have whole bunch of other Hot Wheels cars we played with up until maybe 1991. It's been in the attic all this time.
That is awesome! I'm super happy to hear that my year by year videos allowed you to locate the details to your Sol-Aire CX4! The older cars are so well built and nostalgic.
I think this is one of my favorite years. 1984 i was 4 years old. So many cool cars this year. Hot bird, camaro's, sweet blazer, and of course the c4 corvette. I need to get my hands on these. They would be the crown jewels of my collection.
1984, a very interesting year for Hot Wheels. The Phone Truck is interesting and unique as it seems. The Rolls Royce Silver Phantom II is probably my favorite from this year. Thanks for showing all these!
Agree on Phone Truck, I love that massive crew cab/toolbox casting. They really should have kept this one even with the weight. It could have crossed over to numerous industrial/public works applications. Great HW no doubt! Mine is complete, but the kiddo that had it back in the day gnawed on the man so he sticks out sorta sideways now. LOL. Would love to find a replacement bucket for it someday. Keeping my eyes peeled.
I do agree 👍
If discussing had continued on today or in later years, it would have been replaced with a plastic base.
Awesome collection!! Way more valuable than you think !! This is museum quality and completeness - hard to see all of them together so complete and the quality is so good.
Thank you!! What do you estimate the value of these cars to be?
Never clicked on a video so fast... Awesome collection!
My son was so happy to see your collection!
13:39: this has got to be one of the hardest vintage blackwalls casting to hunt for. I cannot seem to find it at any antique store or flea market find. Other hard to find castings I found were the dream van and the BW American Hauler
Yes, that yellow Ford Escort is a really tough one to find, and it always has been. I think it was only sold for a couple of years, but I have no idea why that is.
Awesome show O! I really like the rotating disc you used in this video. It really displays the pieces well from all angles and with dark non reflective contrast! Nicely done :)
Thanks for this video documentary series! I use your videos to figure out what I have found after picking. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Thanks for sharing ur video once again. I truly enjoyed watching those models that probably obtained but dream of them.

Nice cars. I cant image how much you've spent over the years. I myself have a large collection spanning over 3 decades. I dig the 70s-80's hw the most. That green flat out 442 im jealous. That is sweeeet.
Quite interesting.Thank you for taking the time to post this video!
Love the 80s Real Riders great collection
The Silver or Gold cars where UPC for General Mills Cereals. That's how I got a handful of my cars as a Kid
Awsome awsome video. Just getting into Diecast collecting and customization. Learning a ton of new things from this video and really appreciate it. The blue and white Stock Thunderbird I have and from your video i just realized it has working Suspension. Wow! Just blew me away when I saw that. Amazing collection you have and great videos! Keep them coming! Subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you!
Some info based on a couple of your comments. I bought both the green 442 & Pontiac J2000 said to be Canadian releases only new on the blister in the day in local stores here in Australia. An in depth discussion re the J2000 took place on a diecast forum some years ago. Love your work. Cheers Mick, Mick's Model World
Awesome! I have been hanging out for a new video from you :) Thanks again for sharing your collection
FELICITACIONES amigo...
Great vid as usual. Love the real riders. The green Flat Out 442 is also a beauty.
Looking forward to your next vid. ;-)
Love your videos, thanks for all the great information. Question - I recently got the Mark's Phone Co. Truck and it has blue emergency dome lights and a black Hong Kong base, definitely not painted after the fact and is in near mint condition. I have looked all over since and cannot find another one nor any information in the usual sites databases on this variation - everything is clear lights and silver/metal base. My question is, is this a variation and is it one you know of or have seen? Thanks again!
Hey WTFFOR... was the 80s firebird in black ever released with gold blackwalls? I have one in quite worn condition but the gold wheels are the same color as on cars like the racebait 308 with the gold wheels. Is it from age or was it made that way?
Hi there! Yes there was a variation of the 80's Firebird with Gold Blackwall wheels, released in 1988 only... it will be featured in my next "Hot Wheels year-by-year" video for the 1988 collection... stay tuned!
A good year! So many cool castings!
Great video l have been collecting sense 1984 , Hotwheel and some matchbox , ( thanks awesome collection ) Doug in GA 🐈
Nice!!!
Congratulations for your cars and Collection!!!!
By Channel Garagem do Chico of The Brazil!!!
TKS!!!!
The same for me, couldn't have clicked faster. What a great collection and amazing knowledge, but at the same time you don't claim to know everything. No wonder no ones watching tele any more when you can see stuff as specific to your interests as this on the interweb.
Great vid, love the cars. Thank you
You are definitely a BLESSING to us hot wheels collector and LOVERS you are definitely my teacher and mentor 😎
1984 was a great year because.... I was born! LOL. Awesome collection as always. ;)
Welcome back man! Always awesome to see your gargantuan collection (s) Brother! Keep bringing that awesomeness! #hotwheelsgarage784 approved!
Love your videos, I really look forward to them.
Amazing bud just amazing. Big fan of yours.

You should review your vintage matchbox/lesney collection!!!
I've got a 1984 yellow baja bug from the off-road 4x4 4 pack exclusive. Pretty darn mint condition, and I'm from Toronto!
Fantastic collection!!
1984 is the best year ever
Nice cool collection
Hey this brings back some memories, I see a few cars I used to have back in the 80's but I was pretty hard on my hot wheels and I remember I liked to play junkyard so I used to squash them up in my dads bench vice so sadly most of my collection went to hot wheels heaven but I know I still have a blue 34 ford coupe that I got when I was a bit older. think that one came out in 89 so I think that's why it didn't end up in the crusher lol and I know I still have a yellow Thunder roller and a tow truck or two and a few Others that I cant remember what they are But after seeing your vid. I might try a see if I can dig them up and see what I have. I have not seen them in years and are now buried deep somewhere under a mountain of junk in my mothers basement after I gave them to use with her Christmas village display that I never seen her set up since the late 90's.
i have the dark blue thunderbird stocker i got it in 83/84 when i was around 11 and the rear wheels on mine are the bigger ones. i never saw alight blue one till the late 90s but then again i dont remeber seeing even another dark blue
Will you please do your 1985 collection soon!
Corvettes 🎉
Nice colletion
A collector in the Blackwall hotwheels auction group that I'm in won that green 442 in an auction for US$100. I knew that was gonna be eye watering.
8:20 That Pontiac Firebird is from movie Smokey and The Bandit 3
Hi! I have what looks like a Jeep 4x4 with 1984 Malaysia on the base that is made of solid metal. I did not see this in the collection. There are ones that look exactly similar on eBay that are advertised as Jeep 4x4 but they also have Bell #15 on them in three color variations. Mine is simply black with yellow and orange patterns that somewhat resemble a flame pattern. It has a small bed in the back and a tire on the hood and two gasoline containers on the rear. Does anybody know what this is? I can't find it anywhere online.
The pontiac j2000 was a Canadian release for 1984 released later in Mexico for 1985. Awesome review as usual. Can't wait for the 1985s
Nice collection 😱👍🏻✌🏼💯👌🏼🔥
With some detective work I found an error you might be aware of, but I can’t find any info on online. It’s a thunderbird stocker with a dull trunk and a black grille that might be part of the interior with orange tint windows. Have you heard about it?
I HAVE A BLUE FERRAI ULTRA HOTS IT HAS SUSPENSION AND I REALLY LOVE IT
I have a couple of those vehicles that you showed.
Great video 👍
Very cool thanks
Have A hot wheels 1984 camouflage airplane, can’t find it listed anywhere. Any suggestions?
I don't know anything about aircraft hot wheels, never seen one. Try eBay
🚗It is so cool!!!👍
Where did you get that t-shirt ? I must have one!
I got mine at a local convention, but I'm sure they can be found on ebay or amazon... it's Hot Wheels 50th birthday this year, so there is shirts and stuff in plenty!
Awesome video!
Your childhood is my childhood!
Super!
very cool vid
Very cool 😎
Love your vids! I was knee deep into collecting hot wheels in 84. The ultra hours were my favorite
Just curious, why do you say Zed28? Is that the Canadian slang for Z28?
Cool video as always! When will you do video of you showing all your buses? You promised that about year or more ago :)
Double wow!
Hey, how's it going I'm a new subscriber. Enjoy watching all the cars. I just recently scored a xt3 Hot Wheel that's a 5 out of 10 maybe 6 it was a dollar and a silver Porsche a few other black rims later. Oh yeah and a 67 Camaro 1982 it has a Hot Wheels sign on the sides and it's blue metal frame and bottom.
Wait what does the little white vehicle that’s the same vehicle I have but it’s just a model
Hi, great collection I am struggling to identify a Hot wheels that I have it's made in 1984 and not in your year collection, it's looks like a Lamborghini and has a lifted lip at the bonnet and the right door moves and has like image and carving on the door
It sound's like you have a Hot Wheels Crack-ups car, released between 1986 and 1989... hard to say exactly which one, but search images on Crack-ups and you will likely find it. I hope that helps!
Amazing I found it. Thank you sir. This car my farther in law had in his pantry, so I went In to get an item and came across this car that I haven't seen before, I was shocked coz it was so old but in good condition. My
little one is hot wheels fan.
Street Beast - BMW M1
Predator - Porsche 928
gimme a break Mattel
The phone truck is made in Mexico?
Can you do more videos?
Yes, I'm hoping and planning too!
I like the Troop Convoy Monster Truck
I have two of both the silver Firebird and Gold Z28 along with the other two mail in cars. I still have around 6 of the ORIGINAL forms to order these models along with the Tri-Sar X8 and the Bubble Gunner! You had to buy two Hot Wheels and cut out the upc. Send that along with 1 penny to get a car! Must be post marked by April 15, 1984......34 years ago!!! Let me know if you want to see a pic of the original order form. Also, I have that Hard to find Valvoline Stocker from Hong Kong in dead mint condition!
Wow, that is absolutely amazing information from what I consider a die-hard collector/enthusiast! Thank you for your contribution, and amazing to hear about the details of the offer in 1984, from a serious collector. Please do share your info on a youtube video, provide me with the link, and I will include in my description so that you get the recognition you deserve for such a valuable contribution!
Sincerely,
O-Dawg
I don't make videos but would be happy to snap a pic of the front and back to e-mail to you to use in a video update. Let me know.
If you are on Instagram, I could post a photo there and you could get it.
Muy buenos ejemplares lastima que en el estado donde vivo que es Tepic, Nayarit, México no es tan fácil encontrarlos en tan buen estado una Chulada de colección tienes
Currently 2023 and prizes has increased pretty much triple of what he’s saying
I just noticed that my red mustang convertible has a Hong Kong base so they do exist👍🏻
On the god humor truck the “popsicle” tampo was changed due to “popsicle” being a trademarked name. It is used generically in common use but thinki of it like “Kleenex” or Q-tip” etc. it was simply a trademark/licensing issue
Hello
I see you have all of this cars.
I do have a few hot wheels too but don’t know there value and want to sell them
So can you help me out
Nice collection but its not all the 1984 cars as the future car from 1980 got a new paint job in 1984 with masters of the universe on its sides only sold with the snake mountain playset and not produced after 1984
Umm where are all of the greenlights, m2s, and Johnny Lightnings at? And why haven't you been posting videos?
New Greenlight cars and trucks video coming soon, got lots of new stuff to review just short on time lately.
I have an ultra hot Pontiac Fiero that you do not have in that collection from 1984.
Great Video! Follow Paint is Dead to see other great car wrap videos!
i miss your long hair
Me too! :(
why'd u get rid of it
I have a flat blue one.
No entiendo un choto de inglés pero está genial tu colección felicitaciones!!!
I have a hong kong base version of red 1965 mustang.
I have a theory as to why popsicle was replaced on the ice cream truck. Well I read once where Jay Z owned the rights to the color blue jay. So he got paid royalties for every Crayola box that featured the color blue jay. Maybe Hot wheel was trying to save on royalty expenses to whoever owned the phrase "Popsicle". Course it's just a theory.
Hmmm interesting theory!
I got a 1970s Hot wheel
These days Hotwheel put better wheels and tires (wheel riders back then?) from the basic car and charge 6x the price of the basic cars in the States!
Míos. Míos. Míos
