Now with cheap VFD'S & soft starters the Y - delta method of starting a three phase motor is obsolete. Came across several motors that burnt out be because timer failed or other problem not allowing the motor to switch over to delta run. Worst was when an inexperienced person replaced a motor on a defective Y - Delta start system and burnt the spare motor on a piece of important equipment.

Motor connection should be: (Bottom/Top) U1>W2 ; V1>U2 ; W1>V2. Yours will work but it's mixed up.
