It might get digested at the bottom and only the nutrients are pumped/osmosis'd up to the rest of the body. Or it lets itself drop to eat and slowly wiggles/float back up again.

They are called magnapinna squid or (bigfin squid) wiki still says their tentacles can grow to about 26 feet long and the deepest they've been found is 4000 feet though this video disproves both those statements. This video is taken at a depth of like 7000 feet and that squid is over 100 foot long. They say it's closer to 150 feet. They don't know how they feed but the tentacles have suction cups on them so they guess that little fish and things get caught in the suction of the hanging tentacles and they feed that way. All other videos you'll see the squids are a lot smaller but maybe this is an elder or maybe they don't stop growing nobody really knows. People do know the reason everything is bigger the closer to the bottom you get is because large animals can process their food or nutrients better. They exert less energy etc.
