I grew up with Scott, he was my neighbor and I remember when I was younger I used to go over to his house and play video games with him. He always had a good heart, but he used to be so silent. Ever since he met divine, its like a flame inside him sparked. They are a beautiful couple and I know will be lovely parents when the time comes.

That's why I love them... a good pair.. a true queen will protect her king, and she will make his armor with every stone thrown at them. She's obviously telling us that they deserve each other. The more the public is going to tear them, the more she'd fight for him. She valued him. Well, most Filipinas treat their men as kings in return for treating them as queens and the one and only. Did you know that he wasn't the SCOTT that she would have sent thanks to when she worked as a call center agent...she wrongly sent it to this SCOTT who became her husband. That's the beginning of their love story.

Im half Filipino and my dad met my mom in Philippines during his military sty,and i grew up hearing jokes and misconceptions about why and how thy got together,even from adults.thank you rebel for sticking up for us all,and showing how degrading and ignorant some people are

But he did it anyway just to see her and he didn't do it just once he did it 3 times. So that's what a description of what I remember

@@dumbass-6228 so basically his sickness is a life or death situation and he met her online a decade ago, the grew extremely close to the point where he wanted to visit her in her homeland but flying can cause his death and he risked it anyways more than once. They then got married and she moved here to him and the rest is just them enjoying their lives, until people decided to cause all this mess. They've documented some really hard times that it breaks my heart to see people treat them like this, especially the husband.

I don't have tiktok installed. all the hatred i've seen are on YT. I met my bf on an online game, we just happened to find a genuine connection. When I found out he's from UK, I was so anxious. If I post my relationship online there will be people who'd call me a golddigging Asian; regardless of my profession, career, my own earnings. Since I'm a Filipina, I'll be labeled as a golddigger because my bf is a white man from a much well-off 1st-world country. So at this point, I only go online briefly whenever I eat. Sometimes I lose my appetite when I see chronically online people spread hate. The power of anonymity gives such useless and miserable people the capacity to bring others down. I wish YT makes it so that if I block these asshats, I won't see their comments forever. That would be so much better.

That’s awful! Something similar happened two hours from where I live in Washington state, USA. The officer ran over a young college student (he thought she was mid twenties or something, not that it matters) and killed her, in his car he called his supervisor and laughed on his body cam about how the state can just pay her family (some low amount, maybe 6 thousand, not as low as the victim in your story), and he said that due to her age her worth to society was already low (????!!!!) 😢 this was I believe last year.

To be fair there ARE women from the Philippines being sold as mail order brides. So are women from many other countries, even white women from Eastern/Southeastern Europe. She herself has said that she came from poverty.
But most prospective "grooms" would probably say shit like "anyone can buy one, they're cheap where she comes from" and shit, and only see these women as housekeepers to have sex with. No one is thinking of the possibility that maybe this woman likes this guy because *drumroll* he is nice and treats her as an equal. Also, people are viewing this relationship through a Western lens. In many countries, it is completely normal to consider the financial incentive above all else when deciding who to marry. Most people simply hope to marry someone with whom they can "make it work". Marrying someone you actually like is considered a win.

I worked with a woman who was always trying to get her son to leave his wife. The wife had been lovely and they were very much in love until she was run over. She suffered brain damage, had mood swings and her head was now misshaped giving her face a squashed appearance. The husband loved her just as much. He didn’t care about how much harder it was she was still the woman he loved. I never met them but I never forgot about them.

I've seen this couple since a long time ago. They've been together for a long time now. They sound very genuine and have a good chemistry. If u look through their videos you can see that she makes more money than her husband through her social media activity. She's responding very cleverly and lets people hate but uses that hate to grow more by making satirical videos. That's smart. Good for her.

as a filipino i don't know how to feel about this. i feel like some of the comments on tiktok might be racist but i can't tell anymore because shows like 90 day fiance have painted our country in such a bad sensationalist light (e.g. "filipina girls just want a white guy to whisk them away to a better life in the US" - honestly that's just BS).
is the philippines a poor country? yes, but at the same time not a lot of cities in the world can brag that - in manila, for example, one can order any kind of cuisine one can think of and have it delivered within the hour directly to their house even at 3am for under 2 USD.
a lot of middle-class and upper-class families also employ household helpers in an equitable relationship (we have a lot of laws that protect them) and what this means is that, for example, i - a very average middle class adult filipino guy living in manila, has never had had to do my own laundry or iron my clothes or do any major household chores since i was 8 or 9 when my mom taught me how.
this is just so much convenience and quality of life you can't replace with a green card.
we also have universal healthcare, cost of living is relatively cheap, people are not materialistic, and we are generally a very happy, laid back, outgoing and friendly society.
a lot of filipinos are poor, this is true, and some may be desperate enough to marry foreigners to have a better life elsewhere, but i would opine this is nowhere near the average experience of what an average filipino living in the philippines is.

I know there's always people who will fall for TLC sensationalism, but I hope most rational people will understand that there's far more to anyone, anything, anywhere than what is depicted on reality shows. I think, in the US at least, it is a remnant of the "America is the greatest country on Earth" indoctrination so many of us have gone through. If we try to believe this, we have to focus on the negatives of everywhere else to make it seem true.
Your home, as in most places, seems like it is no different than anywhere else in that there are the good and bad, and it is so much more complex than can be depicted in attention-grabbing clips. This obviously makes it no less unique to its own culture, history, and modern adaptations.

I’m so happy you made a video like this! I’m still in this relationship but when I was in high school I was with a person who people didn’t find attractive but found me pretty attractive and I’ve heard people making comments like “she can do better” and what not. Some people really don’t understand that not everyone sees people as less/more attractive. In my experience, the vast majority of people look normal, for a lack of a better term. I might SOMETIMES recognize that someone is less attractive or very attractive, but at the end of the day, I’ll see you as anyone else. That’s why some people value personality first over looks, because they don’t have that type of a ranking system. Who someone is attracted to is also very subjective and will not be the same for everyone, there might be a majority of people who have a similar system but every now and again you’ll find people who find what you don’t find attractive, attractive. The only time people should voice their concerns about a relationship is if there are elements that are unhealthy or immoral/unethical/illegal.

I love this whole idea about her not wearing a ring means they're not married... as if a piece of jewelry makes her more or less married. I had someone who was UNRELENTING a few weeks ago that I couldn't actually be married because I was only wearing my engagement ring and not the whole set.
