    Great short-to-the-point video! I bet a person could make their own decorative paper using tissue paper, or home-made rice paper? Paint on it anyway they'd like, etc. I bet any clear coat varnish, Mod Podge, glitter Mod Podge, or hard coat Mod Podge, would work. I'm thinking this technique would work for handles on serving trays--just on a bigger scale.

I haven't seen anyone else use the paper cutting trick, where you cut them into strips then diagonals; it looks like it would be much faster than cutting the triangle strips back and forth. I also love that you seal them with UTEE, it makes such a nice finish. Plus, it would dry faster than mod podge/sealer, etc. Thanks so much for the super helpful video!!

      @@GerrysCraftRoom I've been making jewelry for 30 years, plus tons of hobbies and languages I taught myself, so I know that, my remark was NOT out of some laziness, but the fact that, if you want to make a necklace and you spend about half an hour making each single bead, it IS TIME CONSUMING! In those hours, I'd make ten times more (at least) with cold porcelain or Fimo.

    • @GerrysCraftRoom
      @GerrysCraftRoom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@knittingnirvana I would never call someone lazy for anything because that is not how I am. For everything handmade there are always multiple options to go about it, my channel is a paper crafting channel so it makes total sense I show things made with paper. Also paper is very easy to come by for most people and it is more accessible, it doesn't take much practice either. That's why the paper beads and loads of people seem to like it. If you prefer to make them in another way, have loads of fun doing just that!

    Thank you for the video. 🙂
    I have been thinking about making paper beads from some of my gel plate pulls and realized acrylic paint skins would also make beautiful beads.
    I used to glue the core to straws with thin holes, roll the bead around it, trim it close to the edge, then finish with a protective waterproof layer.
    It is a good method for anyone that lacks hand dexterity.
    The embossing powder is a great idea, mica could be added between layers for a bit more pizzazz.
