    Very 😎 cool!!
He used to do polymer clay. But I didn't like the feel of the clay on my hands. This looks very nice and could pass for a polymer clay bead I'm sure! I'll have to go watch that first video. As always, thanks again for sharing your talent!

Also I've thought of doing something similar to the "shapes" to make my own earrings or pendants. Seems like using the chunky embossing powder could give good stability as well. Anyhow overall great idea! 💕💛💞

"Run out of embossing powder?" What a concept! It will never happen to me, I'm afraid; sometimes I think I'm more a hoarder of EP than a user. These beads would be nice as a tassel on one of those pins people decorate for closing up their glue bottles (you know, the pins that otherwise get lost on your desk and require a magnet to find, and meanwhile the glue's drying out because you haven't got the pin...).

Embossing powder makes a nice rustproof seal on metal. I've found it's better than spray or enamel paint on small detailed surfaces.

These are just GORGEOUS!!! STUNNING! We made those as children in elementary school out of strips of magazines! These are, of course? Much more beautiful because you can make the color you want! Mind blown!🤯 the key chain is a great gift! Or those in the US, we hang a momentous or something pretty off of our rearview mirror-another great idea! For anyone who doesn’t know, judkins makes a glue which is a true glue you can use, but it also doubles as the same as this glossy accents! I believe it’s called diamond glaze, but don’t hate me if I’m wrong, it was long ago I got mine! She’s had that for literally decades, and I still use a big bottle from 2003-04 which is just fine! The advantage is also that there are several sizes of this so if you use it a lot I would guess the price point is pretty good compared. It used to have a purple/blue label. Great stuff! It also dries with dimension as well as making cardstock so shiny it looks like plastic great for windows of houses or cars, btw.

Wonderful idea. As you were crafting, I was thinking of copper colored paint in addition to the black. Also, the circle and other designs could make earrings to go along with beaded necklaces or bracelets. When we were in high school, a gazillion years ago 🤪, way before glossy accent was created, we used clear nail polish to cover beads we made from strips of magazine pages. I'm loving the embossed metallic look. Fun times headed this way. Messy fingers included.

These paper beads are so cool. I love the idea of using an embossing folder. I used to make beads with thin paper cut into long skinny triangles. After rolling them they would be thicker in the center and smaller on each side, if this made any sense. They would make longer skinny beads tapered on the ends. I love the key chains you made. They would look great on backpacks or on the spines of mini albums.

Very cool, I make spacer beads by rolling up paper as you do. But then I emboss ‘plumber’s’ tape. This tape is real aluminium that has a sticky sheet on the back. Vert easy to use. The tape comes in a wide roll but can easily be cut to any size you want. I use that to cover the paper bead.

I love the detail that the embossing folders added to your beads…so cool! I’ve never made paper beads before, but it looks like I’m outnumbered, LOL! I watched one of your other paper bead making videos earlier today, and it really has inspired me to try making some. I bought a package of Christmas tree garland made out of red wooden beads several years ago but have not yet used it because it was too short, and I wanted something more unique. My intention was to take it apart and add other elements to it for more interest. I have some old tree limbs that I think I’ll cut into thick slices to make beads, plus now I’m thinking some paper beads out of music paper and book text sound like fun elements too. After watching this video, I know I must do some of your embossed metal ones too! I think I’ll try some gelli plate papers too, and maybe some of Almut’s napkin beads, some little pine cones, some jingle bells, and, and…. My mind is absolutely whirling with ideas right now! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

They look great. Could you run one piece of Metallic through the embossing machine and then do all the painting on one sheet and then put the sticky back on. Lay the embossed one on top of plain paper and cut into strips. I am time poor, so I'm not sure if this is quicker, but I will give it a go. Different color paints could look good too. Ok, I am off to the craft room now. :)

Hi Gerry, I love your videos and your sense of humor! Thank you for sharing your ideas and talents. I make regular paper beads and glaze them but I notice you use distress spray on these vintage beads - is there a particular reason to use this instead of a glaze?
My silver and gold paper just arrived as well as my embossing folders so I am ready to get started but I am wondering if I can use glaze instead of distress spray on these beads? Would love to know your thoughts.

Thanks, you're welcome💕 I can't recall I using distress spray, I know I don't use it instead of glaze as it reacts to water. If you have a time stamp in the video, I can check it for you... But glaze sounds like a good idea, make sure to try that!

@GerrysCraftRoom 4:56 is the time stamp in the video. You put the beads on. Skewer and yhen sprayed with distress spray

@@staceyd2670 jep, that spray is a diluted version of Glossy accents (or at least that's what it feels like😉) and glossy accents is a glaze of sorts, like I shown earlier in the video on those circles. So have fun with your glaze🤩

When I have made paper beads like yours, I miss the weight of a bead. Paper doesn’t hang or swing the same on a necklace. Do you have any recommendations?

by adding a layer of embossing powder you can add a bit of weight, like I show in the first bead video: th-cam.com/video/GSUr3_edlss/w-d-xo.html it wil also give you a glass like bead sound😉

I think I missed the bead video where it sounds like you made regular or main beads.
