I read that he recently retired and no longer does these baskets anymore. You must have snapped up one of the last ones! Very lucky.

@@blairhocking1921 you are 100 % correct, that's exactly what happened. Werks baskets aren't cheap, I thought I can get rid of the chudder by myself and with a help of one of my local machine shop. At the end I just spent 200€ and quite a bit of my time, and my chudder was app. 20% better. When Terry announced that he will retire, I decided to pull the trigger. I hope he will pass his knowledge and experiences to someone. Check discussion on SV portal, there are some guys who are able to provide solution at least close to what Werks was providing.
Just don't install bushings on 3 posts which are holding the springs plates to get rid of forward and backward play. Your DL will shred the basket to pieces eventually if you do that.

How much was the Werks basket? Did you buy new or a reconditioned one?

@@blairhocking1921 2 months before he closed his business he started to offer basket ready to install for 410$ without the need to sending him your old basket. This is the option I went with. Prices for other options are still on his web page I think.
I recognized your video. You joined to SV 1000 portal recently haven't you? 🙂 My nickname there is mimixtz. 😊

I NEED one.. I emailed him and he said he’s retired as stated above and the best thing we can do is get an OEM one that will be the best bet..
I did message another member on the svportal to see if he still modifies the baskets…

@@2WheelRider_Catch-up there was a guy with nickname Sharealike. He is (was?) from UK. He hasn't posted anything for years. I think his solution was fixing the center play, which isn't enough. There are many claims that clutch basket from any DL would fit and that they improved design significantly. So I would go with that.

@@mihavuk I found his channell on YT, his last message was 8 months ago. Now the titles of all his videos about the SV clutch basket have become "Do not modify old". Looking at the arguments and speeches he had with Shelby, I always felt a little sad. After all, he did contribute to this issue.

@@hsuchaoyang1334 you mean "conversation" they had with Sharealike on SV portal? I read that and Terry was fair and honest in my opinion where the Sharealike was occusing him for "copying" his center bearing mod "innovation". I mean people were doing that for a very long time. There might be some mistakes done by Terry many years ago with various solutions he was doing which is to be expected during developing such solution. The point is the center bearing mod is not enough, I have done that and I know.
Whatever Terry / Werks did works great for me and many other riders. It is true that since he retired, he could pass his solution to someone else.
I would suggest you to visit SV portal, there are few riders who were able to do good working modifications to their clutch baskets, 2 of them claims they are chudder free and they described exactly what they did. Maybe you can even convince someone to do the mod for you.

@@geminispatricio8517 oh I believe you. Such a great V Twin, and then this chudder is breaking your nerves. Werks basket is not a cheap option, but it transforms those bikes. SVs, VStroms and KLVs. First 1000km with this basket is done and I love that bike like never before.

@@quakeRTX that's true, but for company with reputation, ignoring that problem for entire lifetime of this model - 5 years, and continuing ignoring that same problem at DL1000 for the next 10+ years is really hard to accept.
Other well known brands does (ignores the problem) the same in many cases, I know that.
