We bought the car. Was it the one you expected?
In Part One, we show the whole auction experience and take a look at the car in the cold light of day, a few minutes before Elton had to set off on a 600+-mile round trip.

Windows just need re teaching. Hold window switch down until it clicks. Send all the way up and hold button until it clicks. Do the dame for the other side. All done. You have to do this after the battery has been disconnected
The window winding problem is easily fixed. Jump in the car, start up, hold both window switches down to lower both windows, keep the switches held down until you hear a click each side. Now hold both switches up to raise both windows, keep the switches held up until you hear a click each side. You’ve just completed a window reset.
Each time battery is disconnected or goes flat the car forgets all this and you have to reset the windows again!

You’ve been putting a few miles on her lately, I noticed. That would be a lovely car to take on a trip, but I know what you mean; every creak, bump and pop makes you sweat with the fear that’s something’s going to go wrong 😂
@@UKBarnFinds spot on. I keep thinking that when I’ve sorted this or that issue I’ll do a trip. But I’ve now realised it’ll never be perfect, I’ll just have to go prepared!

Thank you. I certainly liked the car after seeing it the next morning. I was genuinely full of doubt, driving it home from the auction.
U certainly get value for money with them. do u insure ure cars on a group policy or individually and if so what price should I expect to pay please?
Hi Andy, we have a trade policy, so I can’t really advise on price individually. They’re a high insurance group, but it’s possible that some insurers will consider it for their classic policies, given that it’s over 25 years old. As always, it’s a case of shopping around.
@UKBarnFinds I managed to get my daimler ds420 insured for £141 based on 5k miles. I just wondered if I bought others how much a trade or group policy would be. Great videos by the way. 👍👍👍

We wouldn’t drive a car without one, unless on a way to a test or to get test work done. I’m pretty sure that’s a legal requirement, as no insurance policy would allow you to circumvent the law. You’ll see on another video we have a Volvo 740 GLE. That car drives fine, but has no MOT, so we got that trailered back.
Many insureres now do a multi-car policy. It should certainly work out a lot cheaper, especially with classics.
