Awesome bit of kit. Field looks great
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen one of those in action. Fantastic yoke. The only stone picking I knew was a linkbox and a sore back.
Great machine and great commentary interesting work.
Phil, we call fields like that Quarries in England🤣👍
Good job your in a air conditioned cab but the dust the poor old tractor is brown the air engine air filters must need changing regularly
Could you imagine one of those arriving into a field in Galway back when they were building the walls😮
Great video, I'm non farming but respect what you all do. Generally people don't realise what goes into producing our food. Even those who have some idea don't know about stone picking.
Thanks for recording this.
Good luck
Hi Phil, the stone picker is doing a fine job, the fields look nice and clean.
Good man Phil, saw your rig on the motorway yesterday evening heading home, no missing ya!
Fair play phil great video and even better work ethic !! Super job that stone picker !!
Great Video Farmer Phil, That stone picker is fantastic, thanks for sharing
Great yoke Phil, making a vast improvement on stoney fields, great machine and great video
Nice seeing that pile of stones at the end.. stay safe 🏴
Never seen a stone picker working before, it seems to work real well too. Only stone picker i ever knew was me in the late 70's with the two younger brothers, my ma and my da with the link box on the back of the 65, it took days to do it, stones are still picked that way every year with the very same 65 and the same link box but id guess 90% of the stones are gone now and one man on his own can now do it
A lot easier that than out with the link box and reversing around the field about 10 feet at a time and a spade to rise some and the crowebar for the bigger ones. Don't think we would have the youth of today bother with the hardship we went through but there wasn't many options back in my day. One session I drove a JCB beside the plough and a tipping trailer beside me on land that only had seen a horse plough and stones were ploughed around previously... Slow work but it left it that tractors could plough it from then on . Great to see dust at this job as we seen too much wet ground for ages.....
Great video phil! Great stone there, good lane stuff
Big stones there Phil good job 👍👍🏴
Great video, interesting to see the machine working in different types of land and the auto steer keeping you on track. Can the auto depth control be retro fitted? Keep up the good work.
Hello farmer Phil, l must say the stone picker is a very handy machine save lifting stones by hand, great job, kieran from laghey co donegal
Good bit of machinery them stone pickers
This first field was the stoney'st field ive ever seen.. Machine made a right good job on it theres no question about it.. I presume its tillage or is it reseeding hes doing, Either way hed be shook trying to sow anything in it before you cleaned off the stone's... I wonder how long the front augers on the stone picker would last ? they have to take some abuse..
The 1st field. They shuda paid you to do it again. Even if they missed the weather to sow. It wuda paid off in the long run
Next time
Nice tidy job.
Hey I love your work sir😊
Keep up the good work Philip!!!
Think im to ocd if i had that i would keep doing the field till there wasnt a pebble left 🤣
Always next year !!
That first field was a fierce stoney one bet the farmer was glad he wasn't hand picking it
That's what the children are for😂
have picked fields like that in my youth ..........u would fill a 5 ft transport box without having to move it .........we used to plough a 14 acre field and it would take 3 days to get the stones off , before it was fit to let a corn sower in on it .........I reseeded it a few years ago , burnt it off and disced it , only got about 6 tons of smallish stones to pick , and sledge off a few tops of rocks after .......stay away from ground like that with a plough ...........I would say the first field was ploughed , should have used a disc .....!
Well done Phil, don't know how you stick it..
Looks like you need a hydraulic toplink for the front 3pt?
Great job Phil
Phil, you mentioned in a previous program that you have a parcel of land that has hidden wire and other machine damaging objects. Could that front fork loader you have on that tractor be of any use driving slowly up and down with the forks raised high enough to pick up those hidden objects.
Does all the plastic/debris caught in the twines(?) make any difference? Looks a mighty machine
Good stuff
The stone picking machine works well.
New business Stewart gravel coming soon 😂
What about the broken baler at home and the contractor you had to get in to finish your baling
what about it
Seen u at it for brendan gormely
The plastic wrapped on the rotors..... WOW!! 😵
That's some amount of stone picked in a couple of days
How did they work up that first field? Must be hard on gear doing that?
The first 1 could be pick again next year by the look of it
Does she break much tines in the drum? We have a older model and they tend to break the odd one
Haven’t broke one yet
Looked a quarry not a field
How long take you to 12 acres Stoney ground?
5 hours
Sound like you need to get a fastrac 😂
May buy a fastrac
Are u in galway
👍👍👍.
Brilliant videos pity about love for masseys though 😂
How do you charge on the jobs, price per acre, cost associated with travelling to and from that area, per hour or loads, and do you get a deposit, and balance on completion, and is there a months credit..
He charges by the hour
Dont hold ur breath, because that's one thing they wont tell us
He's already said he charges by the hour for stone picking because then if they speed it up with a trailer they benefit, and rockier ground costs more@@damienoconnell3387
A months credit?? Jese that’s what’s wrong with people. Contractors ned to be paid going out the gate or even before.
Spot on there..
Hi farmer Phil that was a great job and class work to keep up the good work lad 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great vidos phil
Go on The Phil
Great machine that picker but do you not tell the customers to take off the big ones before you will start to make it a lot easier on your machine
Great stuff phil you could do with a power wash after that 😂😂😂😂
I’d harrow that and get you in again. Be some job at the end
You have not put a hub cap on that machine yet 😳👍
As good as that machine is id rather a machine that takes the soil to plough Dept and shake it through a conveyer to a crusher all one unit and scatter the stone in pieces to be ploughed back in
Just an idea in my head
Hon Phil . Best of luck with the new business
Hope get enough jobs to make the yearly payments.
