Another very entertaining video, you’re a great presenter! In thumbnail everyone is dressed in typical farming attire, but you are like a runner - I’m often the same, comfort over convention!
i remember you doing a video about why you do your own silage and it's like you say it's a lot of stress especially a year like this .........money isn't everything in life.......if you had a contractor those stresses about the machinery/ getting stuck etc is on them....... it all has to be taken into consideration
Great video as always , grew up out side Omagh trying to make a living from cutting silage , those burst drains give me anxiety & bad memory’s 😬 PS , sipping a Margarita in sunny California n wet ground is a thing of the past 😀
Some years ago Practical Farm Ideas magazine featured a silage traler with a raised far side - like a lob-sided greedy board. Harvester is doing a wonderful job . That's a weight of grass per minute
Double shot for stressed/sick/sliding sideways combos!!! I feel bad for laughing at your misery... but you're entertaining... as well as informative 👍 😂.
its been a wet spring yes you have a few dodgy drains but you got the grass off and in the clamp , it has gone past its best but its the same for everyone , Look at the vid Tom Pemberton posted yesterday if anyone has a mess its his its bad , got my own done over last weekend but I am on Cotswold brash so it was fine , you can't fix everything , but your doing what you can and very brave to reseed now , if it was me i would wait until autumn but you know you land 100% more than me just worried it becomes dry and the grass seeds do not get enough rain to get going that is what worries me , I hope you get it though , will be interesting to see ,
Is that a new Driver on that JD tractor 🚜..caus how the heck did he get stuck in there?? He wasn't stuck..just bad judgement! Plus it's a lesson he has learnt!
Great having all these big machines only thing is when the going gets wet you buggered,,, and can you tell me why two in the cab can they not drive on there own.......... Old school keep going slow but sure and it's a tractor on tracks you want not that crappy Massey!!
Hi Andrew. Another midweek video. Very enjoyable. Wierd how only the JD got stuck!? I know its a winter job but a set of high mesh cribs for your Donnelly trailers would make them a lot easier to fill. l've also discovered that 650 wheels on the trailers will definitely ease soil compaction. Perhaps something to consider for next year. Cheers
Hii .your Hand cleaning system to clean the Radiator from the case .is only a catastrophe ! At the mowing time on a field could that do as premier help . But at home when you serviced the machines .you would take an air compressor to blow out the radiators ! We have a 4 foot long an 8 millimeter diameter steel pipe on the air hose to blow out the great dry stuff of our machines an radiators . For the fine stuff need we than a pistole to blow out the cooler slats . When we would do a very good job at the radiator .we take our heat-washer and blow with not too much pressure out the cooler slats . One wonders .how many fine stuff the heat water rinse out of the cooler slats !! Greetings from north west Germany from Bert .
How far away is your furthest land? Would two wagons not be better for you? A lot less stress using a wagon compared to a harvester and less drivers needed, also lower maintenance machine and they hold their value well compared to a harvester
Don't have one person looking over their shoulder all day, trailer men do instead and not an issue as they only do it for 5 mins at a time compared to all day. Grass doesn't need to be thrown as far. Can see grass going into harvester and trailer in one direction rather than needing to look both ways and forward
I get the reason from the harvester perspective which makes complete sense, but can't you put the high solid silage side on the other side of the trailers?
How on EARTH you can film AND steer AND run the spout is bang on Andrew. Great video
It's not easy!

I never even noticed. 😂
Great Video, Drainage is the best investment you can make, thanks for sharing

Aye the contractor would plough on and Distory the fields 😅

I need to get some greddy boards added! It was alot of grass for the JF for sure!
Footprint and weight on the tractor vs trailer will have an impact on how much traction you could get. Good tread is nice to.

Watching it back I did seem stressed. 😅
Ya... the best bit was "a trailer would be nice" 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Dude you're funny!

As sure as eggs are eggs we will get plenty of rain for grasseed over the summer over here it’s one thing Co Tyrone can be sure off unfortunately
Drought isn't a risk. 😂 A wet autumn is a risk. Good advice and thank you!
Beautiful boat Smash
Ideal trailers for the conditions..you can’t beat a Donnelly
I agree. They are brilliant.
" Today I am stressed " well u definitely don't show it 😂. Me when I'm stressed 👹 ha
There’s 2 grades of blades. Heavy and light duty. Light duty are rubbish. Love that JF. My 900 is like it’s little brother 😂
I didn't know that!
The jf is blowing very well. Wet land is a nightmare.
It was, tough day for the poor Jf. 8s was well back on rpm at some points
I would try jet washing the drains first. It can have very good success and will cost very little money.
Only discovered your channel recently, find it very interesting and informative, what part of the country are you farming in?
Thank you! Omagh

looks like you could do with more help. good video thanks for keeping them real.
Thanks for the comment!

Tracks would be handy. 😅
The money you make off TH-cam will come in handy for these projects.
It might pay for one drain. 🤣
@@FarmTheoryNI That’s no good .what type of stone do you use in the shores?.
You could leave the wettest fields until there's only a dry spell and then big bale them.

Honestly I think the issue is the tyres, same with our Massey which is on Bridgestones... Likely the size more than brand buy still, they just spin.

I think you need a holiday, Andrew☀️
Needs to stop yapping that's for sure
Good idea. 😅
You wouldn't have a video on how you fixed the joystick on the puma? Have one giving trouble also
It's on tiktok!
@@FarmTheoryNI thanks

Probably worth a video. Most silage ground is a 20 minute round trip.
Good stuff
When you say "check the JF...." do you mean the Kongskild´e? lol
Yes, Kongskilde! 😅
The Xeobib’s earned their keep today……
Best decision I have ever made.
Silly question but why u filling the “wrong side”😂
Was thinking the same, wrong handed trailers
For my necks sake. 😅

What model is the puma
195 boosted to 240/250
Always the deere
Rome wasn't built in one day nor will it be knocked 👍
That turns into a complete slop when u put water near it, better with an airline
Donnelly wheelbarrow ....cough...silage trailer in thumbnail must be Fermanagh.
I love my Donnelly trailers
Where abouts are yous based
AND.....relax 😆😆
Actually!! 😂
🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏💪💪👍👍
Please keep your fingers away from those Knives, as replacement parts are available for machines, not for man
First.
Good for you
@@barry1338 Sorry it's a very inane comment but I've never been first the whole time I've viewed anything on TH-cam.
Nice@@S_Eglington
Have a good star my man. 😅⭐
Good video just a pity I had to watch a Sinn Fein ad for the local and European elections with Mary Lou I doubt she is your favourite party.
Wouldn't be a huge favourite in the south either-sf are crooks and full of double speak
They don't get my vote but they are a very smart political party. They know how to get votes.
@@FarmTheoryNI I know what you mean. You are too soft spoken for that party and I mean that as a compliment.
