Man u are an absolute credit to ur family the amount of work and effort u put into that farm is absolutely amazing if uncle Ian was still around he would be so so proud of you
My grandad bought a claas 44 the first round baler in our area with no intention of contracting. And he ended up sending dad out to bale for other people, and like you said because there were no phones they would call in and wait on the yard for dad to come home, and my grandad would say he was here first, thain him and him. My uncle would fill up with diesel and twine while my dad would get sandwiches and drink and off he would go again. After 3 years they had enough, and sold the baler to another ucle who said don't tell anyone he bought the baler.
Farmer Phil, I lost my husband of 50yrs on 7th Sept.. my heart is broken... we used to watch this together. Life has changed so much. I hope you are able to get ur farm shop up and running successfully. God Bless 😢😢😢
I can remember the day's of landline only, the baler hotline during the season. Dad and I where both driver's so we would have aome customers come straight to us, normally the neighbour's and then the big boss with the next day's plan's. When got 1st cell phone was a brick of a thing that would only fit in tool box pretty much and no caller id amd shocking coverage. Had rts in tractor's and truck's that would pick up other crews and farm's of close so was always a good bit of banter
Do u remember u and father Phil at the back of the house with the new combine just arrived stressed out with every day raining well it all got done after,
Great video, huge result to get the harvest in and keep the hire work done especially with the weather we’ve had. Good luck with the sales etc at Ratheniska, hope to see you there. Keep up the good work.
Heard a story of a contractor back in about the 90s had one of those big old mobile phones but in certain areas it wouldn't woek so you'd drive up the road to a high spot to get the signal to make some calls 😂😂
Great video, Phil. What way did the silage samples work out afterwards for you. Enjoy the ploughing. We might catch up with ye on Thursday at it. Well done man.
I bet yr dad loves you having the beacons on while trying to load u in the dark, nothing more annoying, I know that from experience, good video Phil 👍👍
I'd say your old man might be after figuring out having 2 harvesters in the yard and only the one arse in the seat that knows how to work them mightn't be the brightest idea. It's about time he trained a few of ye how to work them
