I've had my mk4 2.0L petrol auto 7 years now and can't fault it. 40mpg on run . 25 on city driving. Shed loads of space in the boot and can get 3 large lads in the back when being a taxi on Friday night.
No mention of the 2.2L i-DTEC engine then? All those listed on Auto Trader must have had that engine retro fitted. As for the twin turbo 1,6L i-DTEC, that was never fitted on the CRV, certainly not on the Gen 4 model (2011-2016) anyway.
I have the 08 Civic. For an increase in space as a family car, is this a good choice? Is the comfort / suspension softer? (The civic informs you of all the bumps on the 08 reg lol) Honda's tend to be quite reliable overall though.
Re: mpg figures. I have a new model 1.6 diesel 160bhp auto SE and have averaged over 42 mpg in mixed driving. I do drive reasonably gently and can regularly get over 50mpg. Obviously if driving in city traffic as previous post then mpg will drop dramatically. By coincidence my mpg is almost identical to previous car BMW X3 2.0 auto diesel.
@@stevp372 that's decent - if we're talking about city driving. You light-footed on the pedal or what? I'm actually considering this car for a purchase, MK4 version, so just digging through the TH-cam videos... any little info helps. Later version has Chinese made engine, so, no thank you....
@@Segundo_Grande my comment is 2 years old now, but I still have the car. Currently averaging 33mpg which I think may be because it needs a fuel filter change, but I’m not particularly light footed on the pedals. On another note, barely had any issues in 4 1/2 years ownership. I had to change driveshafts due to hitting a pot hole in the dark but it’s never let me down and it’s going strong at 107000 miles
@@neilleng9188 I am actually quite average. The ‘cushion you sit on’ does not extend enough and you feel like you sit on it rather than in it. Very different from the BMW I had and the Volvo I drive. I was on a forum and this seemed a common complaint; some people even got rid of the car because of this. Still, it’s great you find them comfy! And don’t get me started about the 1.6 engine…
I strongly object to the mpg figures. Where do you get these from? The manufacturer? Or doing real life testing? I have a "65" plate CR-V EX top spec and after 2,000m have only achieved 24.5mpg!! Worse than my previous car which was a 3.6l V6 Porsche Cayenne !! You need to do real life tests by driving in cities like many of us do and not just claim manufacturers mpg! I feel completely cheated by Honda as were also given these Rubbish figures and was a factor in deciding to buy this car
We'll see how the upcoming introduction of the newest Civic impacts each plant's production. Swindon will soon be supplying Civic hatchbacks to North America.
It's spelt wallowy, and is a word, here in the UK. It also does describe the handling (I drive a 2014 2.2 i-DTEC) accurately, although it's not too bad. I have gotten used to it. The 2.2 diesel has loads of torque, and makes for effortless overtaking, and relaxed driving. Strange he doesn't mention the 2.2 diesel, as it was available with that engine in the time frame of the video, and is the best engine (imo) for the CRV. Mine has been faultless, and I love it! 🙂
Honda offer reliability Wich other car can only dream about
Totally agree, these are bullet proof
The presenter is very negative the CRV IS a Great SUV
It certainly is.
I didn’t expect this CR-V to come with manual transmission but love it.

25mpg urban….wow, that’s atrocious!

It looks like the reviewer doesn't know what he's saying at all
God will he ever stop moaning. I get the impression he doesn't like this car. What a banana.

isnt the height over 1600mm? you've stated that it's 1452mm
1:12 "you'll do 64.2 miles per gallon" Really?
Had to play it again to see and hear that thing again 😮
That's uk gallons. US Galllons are smaller so figures smaller.
Very negative review. I have had mk2, mk3, mk4 , take some beating.
Whats figures are you all getting with the 2.0 petrol?
6 months late but I’m doing 36mpg on average. Best I’ve had was 38
I got the 1.6 deisel and get 40 in towns up to 55 mixed driving longer trips. The 1.6 deisel is also ULEZ compliant, so no emission charges

Very comfortable, and reliable car.
I find this car to have the most uncomfortable seats ever!
@@Dmaelstrom You must have a strange body shape my friend. Some of the most comfortable seats I have sat in. As per my Honda Accord.

I'm rusty on European mpg comparisons. What is the US equivalent?

That's terrible! Sorry you had to suffer that kind of economy but thanks for sharing! Right... off to look for alternatives.
Do you driving same as with porche? Lol
45mpg for diesel
For the diesel?
The 1.6 diesel has that mpg that he mentioned.
Is the CR-V still made in Swindon or is it being shipped over from Canada?
+Desperate4Attention it's still made in Svindon, mew model 5 gen cr v will be made in Canada, it should come around 2017.
Good, let's keep it in the Commonwealth .
Yes made in Swindon

Reputable company
Don’t you love a critic
Why does he talk like a BBC presenter with that weird timing and stalling between words?
