I'm a girl from the 90's, (1996) and I love Ms Pac Man. I play all the time and have a decent high score. I've been playing since I was around nine and have always been in love with the game.
I'm still a kid 10 years old to be exact and I collect retro video games but I'm horrible at ms PAC man but I still have fun and if you can teach me your strategies that would be awesome
Been watching classic game room for a long time and always knew how Mark wanted a arcade machine of Ms Pac-Man, i'm really happy for him, hope that he blasts some Van Halen while playing the game.
This was the first retro game I ever played, my mom loved this game back in the 80s so whenever we would go to a local Mexican place that had one of the machines in the lobby, me and her would play.
I remember stepping into an arcade as a youngster and seeing a croud around a new game and got close enough to finally see it and about 5 hours later got to play MS. PAC-MAN. I was probably like 8 or 10 when this came out in so cal, the OC as now say, my old stomping grounds.....lol......thanks for the vid............PEACE
I remember "Ms. Pac-Man" since I was a kid when I first saw it at a restaurant back in my Puerto Rico years. I first played this game and it was a lot of fun. I played them in movie theaters, theme parks, amusement parks, malls, campgrounds and lots more. This game was made around 1981, and it was a follow-up to the original "Pac-Man", the first one which was a classic, much better than the godawful Atari VCS/2600 version from 1981, the same year "Ms. Pac-Man" came out. Both of these games are tops. I was also at a Quick Stop not far from where I lived and I saw a "Ms. Pac-Man" game and it doesn't work anymore, because it was busted and never seem to plug it in. I wish it needs a full restoration. This has been stood in the arcades for a long time. There was also another arcade classic "Galaga" which was another classic space shooter from that same year 1981, A follow-up to the 1979 arcade hit "Galaxian". This game was first made by Namco, but it was later distributed by Midway to avoid the Namco name. It was part of Bally which was also a company that made pinball machines. The game is still a class by itself.
I had the pleasure of having Ms. Pac Man on the Commodore 64 - and was near arcade PERFECT with the intermissions and everything else that made it such a great port.
They have a really excellent Ms. Hack-Man at the arcade on the Santa Monica pier, or at least used to. Great to play some of the more inventive remixes with a real cabinet and joystick
Finally, a video with a Zoom kit mod installed. I'm having no luck finding pics of any of the arcade cabs with the button installed that was common to the units here in NorCal. It was a white square button that read "ZOOM" which was written inside jagged lines symbolizing an explosion. All I'm seeing online are basic round buttons to activate the mod and few actually have "Zoom" written on 'em. Back in the day, pressing that button, it seemed like it sped up Ms. Pac-Man & Co. to operating at the same speeds as Street Hawk or KITT's "Super Pursuit Mode". It was incredible. The "zoom" feature in Tengen's port of the game to the Genesis still doesn't compare [sadly]. As for ports of the game, I still consider the 7800 version best since GCC - the creators of Ms. Pac-Man did it. AtariAge has a homebrew port of Crazy Otto for the 7800; same with KC Munchkin.
***** I was at Disney world in florida in april and saw this there. I immediately shot toward it and hogged it for 30 min until someone said youv been on long enough, let me play.
This was my first ever video game I ever played when I was around 5-6yo. Only that I remember it was in the table like cabinet.. Man it feels so long ago! (it was) lol
Dustin Nunn Along with the original "Pac-Man" for the arcade. Both were instant classics. It came out the same year as "Galaga" and "Galahad" was a direct sequel to "Galaxian". Both were made by Midway in the US, and developed by Namco.
I played the original machine a day ago, and it goes SO FAST! But, I love it. The joy stick felt clunky and faulty, but hey, probably just that particular machine itself. I think I'll try playong again real soon any way. Great video! Whats some more pro tips??
Git gud scrub. Real men play Pac-Man without speed chips. :V In all seriousness though, I'm just not a huge fan of them as they take the challenge out of the game.
twistedyogert, Same here... especially since the one at an arcade near me has it seet on super-speed and the original joystick was replaced with a cheap microswitch one that barely works.
Alex Ross Go to an arcade in New Jersey. They've got nothing but fast Ms. Pacman machines in their arcades! Your best bet is to go to Remember When pinball arcade in the boardwalk mall in Wildwood from May to the beginning of October. Just go downstairs and there's at least 3 Ms. Pacman machines all of which are fast! But if you go upstairs they've got 2 fast Ms. Pacman machines, both of which are on the opposite sides of each other even though they're on the same floor.
Do you recommend any of the new systems made to mimic the real 80's versions? Chicago Gemming apparently bought the rights from Namco? Thanks for any advice - we haven't been able to find an original and dont want to have to work on it - hoping for a new one if good quality?
The speed kit is the bane of my arcade experience. I hate going places to see that they've messed with the game like that. I'd rather get my ass handed to me in a slow, hard slog in Ms. Pac-Man than jet around the screen all untouchable. Oh well. At home, it's the slow stuff for me.
I LOVE the speed kit. My local Pizza Hut installed the speed kit and I was able to beat 11 levels before I finally ran out of lives. Somehow, I do way better when having to play Ms. Pac-Man with speed.
Mark - you forgot to mention that after level (board) 20 the ghosts do not change at all after eating a power pellet. They simply reverse direction. Same for Pac-Man.But then again you probably figured (as myself) that most people watching this and reading these comments couldn't make it past "The Chase". Most people I see at Barcade playing it can't even score 20,000 or make it past the 3rd board (orange). Pretty painful to watch if you ask me - and this is HIGH SPEED on EASY SETTINGS. My high is 679,550 but only 83,390 on normal speed (slow) settings on MAME.
There's one cabinet I know of here in Chatsworth, Ca at the Uncle Ernie's Pizza. If you stop by be sure to get a slice, the pizza is fantastic. Sadly the arcade machine seems to have seen better days as the controls seem rather unresponsive, or I'm just terrible at the game. Got to Act 1 and lost on the first board. :*(
A local arcade here about 10 years ago had the turbo mod installed and it was way too easy. I ended up playing for about an hour and passed it onto a kid that was watching me play. It would be better If the ghosts moved faster too.
5:12 LOL. This game has some surprising depth. Unlike Pac Man which is just about memorizing patterns, each ghost in this game has its own AI. Getting high scores takes quite a bit of skill and improvisation when things go wrong.
Wow, after a certain point the ghosts don't even become eatable. Did this same difficulty curve come in the original Pac-man, or did the ghosts always have the same vulnerability timers?
Speed chips are installed to a free socket (I believe it's usually 6f) on the PCB to alter a piece of code in the game data that controls how fast Pac/Ms./Jr. will go. They increase the speed of the character four times by how it would normally be without the chip. Personally, I don't like them because they take the challenge out of the game. I can understand them being in Jr. Pac-Man because, as much as I like that game, it tends to push things too much in terms of difficulty, but the original and Ms. aren't hard to become relatively decent at. (Especially the original since the ghosts move in a predictable way, allowing you to use patterns.)
Anyone not use to the arcade version (me) will find this versions strange competed to other versions like my favorite Namco museum on GBA (gamecube and ps2 and Xbox)

What do you consider a "decent" score, Maria???For high speed Ms Pac Man I would say 500,000For slow speed Ms Pac man I would say 100,000
We found her
+Scooter Ahlers You are either trolling or need to look up the definition of, "decent".
I'm still a kid 10 years old to be exact and I collect retro video games but I'm horrible at ms PAC man but I still have fun and if you can teach me your strategies that would be awesome
Boy from the same year and I love it too.
Ms. Pac-Man is proof that game hacking can be a good thing. :) Crazy Otto forever!
I always imagined BarCade to be a sort of heaven for Mark.
I am 87 year old woman and still play and lovePac man.😊
"Oh F...Fun Fun Fun" LOL
Been watching classic game room for a long time and always knew how Mark wanted a arcade machine of Ms Pac-Man, i'm really happy for him, hope that he blasts some Van Halen while playing the game.
Perhaps one of the best arcade games ever! Was I the only one as a kid who had a crush on ms pac man?
WHAAT?!
Yes

The greatest ms pac man porn ever
This made me want to buy a Ms. Pac-Man (any version)

Ms Pacman arcade was my first game :D Congratulations Mark!
Outstanding review ! Loved the little anecdotes !
"Fun, fun, fun!" Haha, great family-friendly review, Mark!
I also loved playing "Ms. Pac-Man" on the Atari 2600 when I was a kid. :D
I had the pleasure of having Ms. Pac Man on the Commodore 64 - and was near arcade PERFECT with the intermissions and everything else that made it such a great port.
Nice score and it's in great shape! Ms Pacman, along with Tempest, is my favorite. I always wondered why it wasn't called Pacwoman.
They have a really excellent Ms. Hack-Man at the arcade on the Santa Monica pier, or at least used to. Great to play some of the more inventive remixes with a real cabinet and joystick

I grew up with this on the Game Boy Advance. Thanks Namco Museum!
Love Ms. Pac-Man. At my funeral I want the coffin to be painted just like the Ms. Pac-Man arcade cab.
I've played that cab before. My dentist when I was a kid had that in the waiting room set on free play.
***** I was at Disney world in florida in april and saw this there. I immediately shot toward it and hogged it for 30 min until someone said youv been on long enough, let me play.
Mark, the total fan of Pac Man :P
This was my first ever video game I ever played when I was around 5-6yo.
Only that I remember it was in the table like cabinet..
Man it feels so long ago! (it was) lol
I like when Mark says "Arcade machine"
Ms. Pac-Man is one of my favorites.
Dustin Nunn Along with the original "Pac-Man" for the arcade. Both were instant classics. It came out the same year as "Galaga" and "Galahad" was a direct sequel to "Galaxian". Both were made by Midway in the US, and developed by Namco.
@@Musicradio77Network No, you're thinking of Gaplus. Gaplus is the sequel to Galaga and Galaga is the sequel to Galaxian.
Rolling thunder, gauntlet1, buster bros, bubble and bobble are also my best memories
Those are all GREAT games you mentioned. Gauntlet, Buster Bros., and Bubble Bobble were big quarter suckers back in the day.
SO AMAZING!!!!! Thank for yet another amazing video ***** . Question is that that amazing arcade room in your house?!?!? Its, other worldly!!!
Crazy Otto looked like the 'Pac-Man" on the original side art of the game
Helluva game! I don't know about that speed up stuff though. It gets plenty fast for me on its on. Great review.
I played the original machine a day ago, and it goes SO FAST! But, I love it. The joy stick felt clunky and faulty, but hey, probably just that particular machine itself. I think I'll try playong again real soon any way. Great video! Whats some more pro tips??
Ahh Barcade Brooklyn. The home of my best first date ever.
If I could ever had one arcade machine it would be the Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga arcade machine. First thing I'd buy if ever won the lottery.
I hate finding a ms. Pac man machine and it isn't fast. I know slow is the original speed, but fast is how I started and always have played.
That's probably because you suck at slow speed as I do.
Git gud scrub. Real men play Pac-Man without speed chips. :V
In all seriousness though, I'm just not a huge fan of them as they take the challenge out of the game.
I always thought that it was hard to control at high speed.
twistedyogert, Same here... especially since the one at an arcade near me has it seet on super-speed and the original joystick was replaced with a cheap microswitch one that barely works.
Alex Ross Go to an arcade in New Jersey. They've got nothing but fast Ms. Pacman machines in their arcades! I love the speed kit. I have always been looking for a home port that had the speed, and the sega genesis version had an option for speed.
Game systems that matter... Dreamcast was listed. Classic Game Room just became my favorite youtube show!
According to a super recent YT video from a pro arcade restorer, Pac-Man has now surpassed the misses in popularity.
I hope that Ms. Pac-Man will be an alternate Skin for Pac-Man in the new Smash Bros game. That would be sweet!
I love you censored yourself, great work mark.
Can't wait to play this on my Atari 2600! :D
Mark needs to open up his arcade to the public. I wouldn't mind paying money to play some games there.
They also had namco Ms Pac-Man / galaxian arcade machine with a bonus hint game of original Pac-Man.
If I could have only one original arcade machine, it would be Rally X. 🏎️💨
Fun, fun, fun! Show much fun.
The only places to play classic 80's arcade games Pizzerias, laundromats, and buffets,
I wish one day I will as good as you at Pac-Man because I love them but I suck, I can't even finish 4 rounds :( .
Do you recommend any of the new systems made to mimic the real 80's versions? Chicago Gemming apparently bought the rights from Namco? Thanks for any advice - we haven't been able to find an original and dont want to have to work on it - hoping for a new one if good quality?
If you want good pretzels I suggest going to Greene Turtle.
Ms. Pac man is the best! Is she a spinoff to the classic pac man? If so,her game is impressive,as it's more challenging!
Me too. The game is easier all speedy. Playing the game with the natural game speed increase is way better. Marks a cheater lol
Has free play, is a special kit configurable speed
I LOVE the speed kit. My local Pizza Hut installed the speed kit and I was able to beat 11 levels before I finally ran out of lives. Somehow, I do way better when having to play Ms. Pac-Man with speed.
PAC man slow is boring tbh. Having the speed increases the pacing of the game and the ghosts also speed up too making it a very adrenaline pumped game
i saw a Chase HQ machine in this video, mark should do a review for that game sometime
Mark - you forgot to mention that after level (board) 20 the ghosts do not change at all after eating a power pellet. They simply reverse direction. You've been to Williamsburg, Brooklyn?
I have too. I hate the trendiness of it but there's a really cool record store there. Ironic, eh?
What do you mean you don't like the trendiness of it? Can you explain the area, as I have never been there and am curious now lol :)
There's a Mrs. PAC-MAN machine at my local Pizza Hut, and it's real fast.
Have you played Baby Pacman? It's a a pinball machine and pacman arcade game combo. Pretty fun too!
I see ChaseHQ in a background and I hope we'll see review soon
Do another tomatoes video were you show your garden!!
ive only played the arcade a few times and its very different from namco museum on the gamecube ps2 xbox
Hey Mark. Do U have a Time Crisis, Mario Kart Arcade and a Terminator Arcade machine. If so then do a review on it.
Pretzels are my favourite fruit
3:48 I THOUGHT MARK IS DOING FORTNITE DANCE. HAHA!
Ugh, that turbo....I feel dirty playing machines with that turbo chip built in because I feel like I'm cheating.
I don't know about that speed hack. Does it make it easier? The LCD monitor looks nice though.
Mark's favorite game: Ms. Pac-Man
Mark's favorite movie: The Empire Strikes Back
The man's got taste.
A local arcade here about 10 years ago had the turbo mod installed and it was way too easy. I ended up playing for about an hour and passed it onto a kid that was watching me play. It would be better If the ghosts moved faster too.
Quick question, where do you even get arcade machines? Just something I’ve been wondering about.
i own a M.Pacman 5 in one Namco plug & play so i can play this on my wide screen T.V.
did you get pitfighter yet
God i love this game
5:12 LOL. This game has some surprising depth. Unlike Pac Man which is just about memorizing patterns, each ghost in this game has its own AI. Getting high scores takes quite a bit of skill and improvisation when things go wrong.
I wish I had the money to space travel so I could visit the Intergalactic Arcade. : (
i have a table top one of this + galaga in my basement
Wait, those scanlines are horizontal... the monitor in there isn't on it's side/portrait? Huh.
I always thought your favorite game was Truxton.
This game is sho much fun.
I wondered why the heck the game was moving so fast. Is it an overclocking kit or something?
I always wondered how much shipping costs to the Intergalactic Space Arcade. It must cost a fortune. xD :P
love pacman
If you can get Pac-Man Fever, then can you get Ms. Pac-Man STDs?
My dentist has this in the waiting room.
The blonde girl was Phoebe Buffay.
Wow, after a certain point the ghosts don't even become eatable. Did this same difficulty curve come in the original Pac-man, or did the ghosts always have the same vulnerability timers?
Same with pac man, after a while eating the power pallet will only make the ghosts switch direction breifly.
MAGAIVER Funny that both Ms.Pac-man and Pac-man are so similar, but Mark still has a preference for one.
I wish I could send you the Tapper and Root Beer Tapper arcade machines.
high speed kit = cheating
That’s facts
He didn't touch on the main improvement of Ms Pacman over Pacman, which is randomization. Pacman can be memorized.
With all those arcades I can't imagine what the electricity bill must be like.
>Says he's good at Ms. Pac-Man
>clearly has speed chip in his cabinet
Come on, Mark.
come on mate he's gotta go fast
Patch93 Just how much do the speed chips increase the speed anyway? I've always wondered.
Patch93 What do you think would happen if it also increased the speed of the ghosts as well?
The game would be unplayable then if that were the case. :x
Space! Space! Space! Pretzel! Space! Space!...... :echo:
Fruit also contains fiber and various phytonutrients.
All hail Lord carnage
Under 301
PARTY!!!
Ms Pac-Man
Anyone not use to the arcade version (me) will find this versions strange competed to other versions like my favorite Namco museum on GBA (gamecube and ps2 and Xbox)
Yes
I found a ms pacman arcade machine for 880 bucks is that a good deal?
Review the original ds next
The ONLY way to play Pacman is on an arcade cabinet. A home controller does not do it justice.
How come towards the end of the video, whenever he eats a power pellets it does nothing?
vsuman66 That’s because on the later stages, the power pellets become less and less effective, adding to the challenge.
Along with Arkanoid.
